Nice work.
Im a retired automotive painter.
Back masking as you showed is a very important skill and technique to use. Especially around door gaps, bonnet gaps and panel gaps in general.
I was shown the folded tape method, whete you can fold 50% of the tape over itself , still has an adhesive 50% but the folded tape " flap " actually moves with the air flow fromthe spray gun. Leaving a beautiful featheted edge that the eye cant see.
This is a brilliant channel. No BS, just straight into useful info
Really appreciate the comment mate thats exactly what I am trying to do..absolutely no BS

"Wow, what an incredibly informative tutorial! I've always been intimidated by the idea of repairing textured plastics, but you've made it seem so simple and straightforward. Your step-by-step approach and attention to detail are commendable. Thanks for sharing this valuable knowledge!"
Your videos are brilliant! There's not song and dance bullshit. It's straight to the point. The repairs you have shown are "common" everyday damage and you have shown how they can be repaired simply without any special tools. I'll be using some of these techniques with the cars at work. So happy I discovered your channel.
No bs channel..welcome aboard
Totally agree.
No bullshit.
This is the problem. This is how to fix it.
If only other content providers would take the same approach.
Great channel.❤
So many people on here always want to give this real master advice. He doesn't need it. He's an artist!
Only recently found your channel. But I find it very good. Your knowledge and skill set is excellent. We’ll done.
Welcome aboard!
Brilliant. One of the best examples of an easy bumper repair that I've seen in over 20 years of detailing. Keep up the good work!
Great video as usual. Straight to the point, I felt like I could just follow along
As always a brilliant job. Thanks for educating us.

Dito❤
VERY COOL bumper repair!! So simple, I think that I'll try it!!!
Amazing as always 💯👍🔥 thanks for the tips and advice on textured surface repairs
Ah brilliant vid! I hit a wall with my car and thought I was going to have to pay a fortune for a new plastic trim! Gonna give this a try!
No problem
Brilliant video, thanks for taking the time and effort to make this for us! fab
Appreciate the comment I will keep this channel going as much as poss
Incredible work You are doing!
Thanks a lot!
Brilliant vid. The front ‘splitter’ plate on my 911 was all chopped up. I had resigned myself to its fate thinking that I’d just replace it in the coming months. You’ve saved me 250 quid and I’m well happy with the result. Even with just the 4 sanding phases post wipe and with some plastic renovator it looked brilliant. But when the texture paint arrived it ended up like new. Thank you.
ok, thats a brilliant repair on that trim, Looks awesome!
Awesome video. Straight to point and great explanation. Just what I was looking for
Great insight indeed my friend glad your back im on Holidays in Asia this breaks up the day A1 cheers hope all is good in the UK.
Excellent work. Thank you for shairng!

I love your channel! Ive learnt a lot in here and I see you as an artist that I am too. We both share this approach to what we do. Your touch ups and repairs are just stunning. Your heterodox and original approach to fixing paint is stupendous and attainable for people like me. Thanks once again! I will keep watching your videos since they are so cool to watch even if Im not in need of them at the moment :)
Great thanks for the support mate 👊🏻
That is simply staggering many thanks for sharing, I had no idea those plastics could be sanded and repaired
Alot of people don't realise. Replacement parts are so expensive aswell
Excellent again!
Also, what I really like is how succinct and to the point these videos are.
You get these videos, often by Americans, who go on and on for hours because they like the sound of their own voices and who make everything sound like some impossible mystery. Then, by the end (if you last that long), they've actually taught very little.
This is what we like....no mucking about! Great! 👏👏
Us brits don't really do taking too much 😅
Great job! Thanks for sharing. I knew it was possible to fix it but I had no clue how!
No problem

Thanks 👍
Thank you so much! I think you have saved me a whole of of money!
Such a simple fix, thanks for sharing this. Will be doing this on all my cars as thy all have at lest one bit that needs sorting.
Thanks for the feedback
Top job, thanks for showing this.
Good tips, good value. Thanks.
Another great tip! I’ve used heat guns before to help rubbers and plastics go back to their original shapes.
I didn't know there was a textured spray can, never seen that before, not available in my location. I painted my lower valance (plastic) bumper on my first gen toyota tacoma. It was old and faded, sanded it down, sprayed adhesion promoter then sealer, but the surface was smooth. I had a cheap chinese spraygun that was so bad, it doesn't atomize paint very well. So, I lowered the pressure to like 18 psi and dusted single stage semi gloss black paint on the valance. Looked just like textured plastic. Semi gloss black looked just like trim dressing, but permanent. Happy with the result.
Brilliant stuff, as usual . Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Outstanding repair.
Thanks
i love your simplicity man., keep it up!
Im a very simple man
@@cvrpov any advice on asian cars like hondas for soft and sticky paint? does farecla do a good job there?
Great video thanks 🙏🏻 this just happened to my car thanks for saving me some money 💰
Glad it helped
Absolutely fantastic video 😎
Thank you very much!
Many thanks for imparting some very useful knowledge on this sort of trim. I have just traded in my mini clubman 2016 that had this stuff all around it, i managed to do very similar damage to the car you were working on and the best i could do was to fine sand and then black shoe cream to the area and buff with a cloth, it looked a lot better but now i would follow your tips and feel confidence in a better repair that was more permanent, rather than having to keep the shoe cream ready after each car was. But hey I get my mk3 TT shortly so no more black trim 😂.
I will subscribe and do realise the time involved to produce your helpful videos. Cheers Tony
You rock!! Scratched my hubbies truck and hope this will mend things for me! 😮
Another fantastic video
Thank you 😂

Thanks

Very informative, nice finish top job 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Very good job. Nice.
Fab as usual, my neighbours old Citroen Berlingo Van could do with some TLC, will show him this and I will give it a go!
Nice one
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. I just had similar damage. I was wondering, if it could be repaired at all. You have just showed how to do it. Now, my only problem is if I can get similar expertise in my locality.
My dad did this once and used a black wood stain (exterior obviously) which he just brushed on after the sanding. Absorbed well and didn't seem to leave any brush marks. Might be worth a try.
Great vidéo, excellent job !
Thx for the tips. Great job and the for the footage.
Glad it was helpful!
I remember changing a load of trim years ago cause it was scratched, if I only watched this video 😂, your videos are brilliant 👏
Alot are saying this. Glad I did the vid now
Wow, this was really cool! I actually replaced some plastic trim on my last car because it was damaged from the previous owner. It wasn't cheap, or fun to replace. I would have liked to have tried this before replacing. Nice work! Thanks for sharing 🍻
Now you know bud

Thank you too!
Nice work. These type of scuffs are very common.
I hit like...then I watch 👌🏻😁
Thanks
Wow! Best coating repair channel on YT by a country mile.
Tnx fr sharing!
Bravo, Sir. Made that look very achievable.
I have several panels on my MK4 Golf that could do with that spray. Thanks for sharing the details on that 🤝🏼
Keep up the epic videos
Great thats what I made it for to help people
Thank you for the video. Brilliant !
Touch an area on the paper to see if dry, if you touch the panel and not all dry, it will leave a mark.
Good video
Great job
Thanks
the best of the best master
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Incredible
Very kind
Howdy from Oklahoma USA! Not a repair technique but instead of a heat gun, try 50/50 mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil, restores plastics and is a long lasting effect love to see you test it. I've had great results. Heat guns work well to hide small scratches in plastics but it seems to always leave an extra shiny spot, I may have to try the grey scotch bright pad to dull it out a bit, thanks for the tips, love your channel and have learned plenty from it!
Great tip thanks for sharing your knowledge
“Howdy” is a legendary start!
I do minor repairs on paint or body stuff at a used car dealership. We have several cars with scuffed trim. I'm going to give this repair a try on one of them and see how it turns out. Hoping I can find the Pro XL ProTex somewhere local. If not, I'll use your link.
Your videos are bloody great..have used a few. They work no b s...
Master at his trade.
Thanks for saying
Bravo, complimenti
Cheers from uk 🇬🇧
Stumbled on your channel and found just what i needed. Great methods and techniques. Would this work for interior plastic with scuff marks near bottom door panel? Or maybe create a content on it. Subscribed and liked
Hi. Great video, thank you. I scuffed the front splitter on my 718 Spyder, for the first time. It’s not all that bad, but is frustrating knowing it’s now a little unsightly. Any advice on how I should go about trying to deal with it?
can you still use a bumper and trim gel over this when detailing?
Merci 🙏
Tiptop man
Cheers
Great video! Can you upload the links of the product your using? I would like to buy similar ones in 🇨🇦
Hi, you video is very useful.
Would you please be able to advice where I could buy the textured paint?
I'm in Sydney, Australia and not very familiar with what to ask whom.
Cheers,
Sri
Will it work on a deeper scratch? I had an Audi 80 reversed up against a hedge, and I jacked the car up on all four sides to get under it to remove exhaust bolts so as to take the heads off. Anyways the flaming hedge put a fairly deep scratch in the plastic bumper at the back.
I've not got the car back yet from the engine specalists. But am wondering if your technique will work for it. Hopefully it will. I guess if a scratch is deep enough a small bit of plastic could be melted in and then sand and heat and spray and all?
Superb 👌👌 just wished you were my neighbour ! 😂
Ha. You can have a go yourself!
Any advice if there is a hole/tear in this type of plastic bumper?
This video solves a huge problem I’ve always had with black texture trim getting scratched. Thanks! So well explained, however, I’d like to know how permanent is this procedure and if after having been painted could you apply trim restorer to preserve it when faded without removing the layers of paint.
Assuming you have keyed up the surface well.. it should be a permanent fix

What sandpaper grits are you using?
Unbelievable how simple it is to what these rob dog garages charge people... you go to pick ya car up look and think wow they've done a good job they've charged your credit card a few hundred quid.. for what absolutely sod all. Great video
Maybe they will drive more carefully from now on 😂 Great repair
Hope so. Cheers for watching
Can you do the same with white ? Thanks
Is there a similar product to ProXL I can get in the US?
just what I was looking for.. thank you. I have some pitting from rocks, do you fill pitting with anything in particular?
I'd perhaps sand the pitting down level as part of the prep work!
@@cvrpov thank you!
Great stuff! I have a bmw645ci with a small split on the front wing from a fixing bolt at the top. Apparently a common problem with these plastic wings. Is it possible to repair?
Yes its possible to repair
I did the heat gun method on me old van and bubbled it bad. Wrecked the plastic. More practice.
