  • My review of Tiny Epic Zombies which is about to be released by Gamelyn Games. It’s a one vs many game where one player plays the zombies and all the others play humans trying to complete 3 objectives. There is also many modes including fully co-op, competitive and solo.

Does anyone else think that this could be combined with Zombies!!! quite well?
Zombies!!! has the figures and the expanding and unknown map, Tiny Epic Zombies has some good game mechanics (the objectives especially look good). I can see these combining smoothly. Instead of just "get to the choppah" you can randomly choose 3 objectives to complete, and explore the map for them. Any thoughts?

So dumb, but I get so excited when you like a game I do too. Even goofier, with this game particularly, is when you are honest about the game and also say why it’s going into your collection... and I kickstarted the Deluxe!!! I think this was my second ever kickstarted game, so watching this review makes it even better. Hope I see you at Gen Con Dan to personally say hi, praise you for all the hard work you do. I’ll be at the Inside Up Games booth with Conor and Christina from BPPP and demoing Conor’s games.

Other positives for me not mentioned are the price (while moderate, I think it's pretty good for length of play, replayability, etc.), size (it's easy to pack and carry) and size of game space (because tile based games can require huge space to play), and complexity. I also like that there are little bags to keep all the pieces in. I would have loved more, but I can work with what is provided. I actually just got this game, so I only have solo games under my belt, and only won one game so far, but I'm looking forward to playing with my friends on Thursday. One negative for me is that it was a lot to learn at first, and I kind of screwed up on my first playthrough by forgetting to use abilities at times for both the zombies and player characters. Tiny pieces are always a concern and this game is notorious for that. I'm hoping the default game isn't skewed as far in favour of the zombies as the solo game is (even though I'll likely be the zombies the first time I play with my friends), as the solo game is quite difficult to win at. Overall though, I'm quite satisfied with the game and might check out more games in this Tiny Epic series in the future.

Sure an interesting game. I agree on most parts, Zombie games do not appeal to me in general but this one works because of the theme. That is, if a player dies he becomes a zombie. Love the many variations, but it felt a little long sometimes with 5 players. Great with 1 - 4 players. Overall, the best game in the Tiny Epic series.

Interesting looking game but I really do not want another zombie game I really wish it had a different theme but I do like some of the things the game is doing.

It sounds like there are a lot of little fiddly rules that are very loose thematically

Is it just me or does the Greaser look like a Michael Jackson wannabe?

Seriously, what co-op game has no chance of "quarter-backing" in it. Alpha players are completely determined by the the group of people you play with. Some people can't stomach to lose at any board game so they'll do anything to win and they'll do it by telling you how to take your turn. If you don't want others to give you advice on how to get the most out of your turn than don't play with those people or don't play co-op games period. Problem solved.

Daniel Gossman any coop game where players have hidden info take the spa player or of it. The grizzled is a good example of that. Or even ones that have some hidden info, like Police Precinct. Or some where info isn't hidden but no one can help you directly. Like Hanabi, Bomb Squad and Beyond Baker Street.

      I stand corrected.
