Monsoon tends to last longer nowadays. Clearest time now seems to be late November to early December. Cold but clear, no crowds. Possible to visit the real location of EBC not just stop at the stupid rock.
I agree the later October into November is cooler and a good chance for clear weather. At EBC not much changes after the current marker rock, however year after year that current marker rock will also move and soon there will be a different marker. @@Wwtrek Sorry about the negative tone, but having spent time at the real EBC with expeditions (1985, 1998, 2009) I really do not understand why that boulder has turned into an EBC? I understand EBC is now mostly closed to visitors (when there is an EBC, that is), but in the autumn people could hike to the actual location. Is it that having a picture taken at the "marker" is more important than the feeling of standing at the actual EBC even if it is just an empty piece of gravel covered glacier? At 20 m/a that rock fades away in maybe 2-3 decades, or not, EBC trek becoming correspondingly easier every year...
