- In part 5 we take a look at one of the most controversial and divisive designs in WWE history, the spinner championship! It lasted for 8 years, longer than the Big Eagle and Undisputed combined......what a crime.
with the spinner being such a comples belt (you can hate on the design but you have to respect the craftsmanship and effort that went into making them) there were a ton of miniscule changes throughout its run, slightly different plating, stone replacements and colours etc. I've tried to spot them all but I've probably missed some here.

I know some people hate this belt but when I first started watching WWE I grew up with the spinner belt. I am a fan of the belt and still dream to one day get a replica.

I have the controversial opinion of loving the spinner belt design
I do too...That thing is just UNBELIEVABLE...I mean, it doesn't just have relief plates, how much the EAGLE sticks out off the belt, Nd "CHAMP", I Mean it's not mm, aka millimeters off the belt, it's like an inch or more maybe...And it's not all gold, it has silver/nickel on every plate, and a little over 3,000 stones !!! That's ALOT OF FREAKIN STONES ! Different shapes, colors, it's awesome...My restoned 1 looks just INCREDIBLE
When it stopped spinning in No Mercy 2007 is where I started to appreciate it, but my only real complain with the Spinner Belt is that it says "Champ" instead of "Champion".
Best version of the Spinner IMO is the 2008 HD version. This belt receives a massive amount of hate. I personally love this belt. This was my number 1 favorite belt, but it’s now second to the Undisputed. But I still love the design. Great video!

The only issue I had with this belt was that it lasted so long. It should have been replaced long before the end of its run. Of all the wrestlers to hold it, I think it looked the weirdest, or just the most out of place on was Triple H.
The Rock introduced a new WWE Championship in 2013. Unfortunately, as years went by, he would create a monstrous… TRIBAL CHIEF
I absolutely hated this belt, with the one exception being the Rated R Superstar version.
But it still has its place in history.
Times were fucking great.

Nice video as always! When the title begins to use two "WWE Champion" sideplates, the left one i've noticed to be more thicker than the right one.

FACT CHECK: Been a big fan of your content for the last 10 or so years and it's great to see this get a recover! That WWE Title tournament in the Summer of Punk was right in my prime time as a fan, but I do remember it being the July 25th, 2011 episode of Raw; 8 days after MITB. I think you said May 22nd in the video.

I never noticed that C.M PUNK's nameplate on the Spinner is a different shape than EVERYONE else's !!! It's not "pointy" at both ends like the others, its rounded and longer it looks also
When the rock won the belt from cm punk it was actually an older beat up spinner (I believe it was the one cena had leading up to summerslam 2011)
I actually liked this belt, it was solid mix between a championship belt and hip hop jewelry. In hindsight, having it spin was kind of corny, but that was cool at the time. My only grip is that it lasted way too long, and looked dumb on everyone else that wasn't John Cena. It should have gone back to the Undisputed Championship design around the time Edge won it and put his Rated R Superstar logo on it. Personalized championships like that shouldn't last as long as that one did.

YES! This is my favourite element of WWE Championship belts
I actually liked the spinner when I was a kid. But my favorite will always be the undisputed WWE title (2002-2005). With that said, the spinner worked from 2005-2007, and after Cena's injury that was the perfect opportunity to bring back the undisputed belt or create a new one.

I always hated the spinner. To me it looked like they found it in the back of Elton John's closet.
I’ll take this design over the logo belt. Logo belt kinda looks like a class ring.

The spinner championship belt is the best championship ever, it was very unique, plus the spinner is way better than the ugly WWE championship that we’ve got now

2005 i was 10yrs old loved Cena had his merch drew that title for fun etc but now at 26 that thing overstayed big time.
I would have been ok with this belt design if it didn't spin and said WWE Champion instead of WWE Champ and have the WWE Champion side plate on both side plates which they finally did 4 years later after it debuted. Also it would have been ok, If the spinner was just a custom WWE Championship for John Cena only. I still don't get why they didn't bring back the undisputed design for people like Triple H, Edge, Randy Orton and others who wore the spinner and kept the spinner for Cena only.
During Hardy's reign you note the unpainted padlock version only appeared on television twice. What did he use during his other televised appearances? The first HD version with black painted padlock and the silver tip?
Did you find this out by any chance?
From the beginning from 1986-2005 all the belts were good until the spinner belt and beyond
WWE got lazy with their championship designs.
@@johnnykrash9806 not lazy but Vince McMahon started to focus on pushing the company brand more than pushing/creating stars.

I like the WWE spinner title than any other belt WWE spinner title is the best championship ever . It was ment for John Cena only. Why WWE change this belt .hope that I would see spinner title in WWE again❤
I couldn't stand this belt, don't know why it stayed so long because it never looked right on anyone but Cena, and according 2 him that belt is the most bought title ever in WWE shop history, I don't know if that's true or not

I didn't like the belt when it first was released but as they started changing it. Stopping it from spinning and adding another wwe champion logo i started to get used to it. I was always waiting for them to change the champ to champion. Jmar had shown years before that it was it's own plate. I'm like just change the damn thing. It's not Cena anymore. But never did.

None of them were 30lbs. The bulkiest spinner was the last one and it was only 10lbs

WWE Spinner Belt. It's way too tacky with too many stones. Looks over the top.
I was about ten when cena came in, so I was in that target age group for him and I just could never get what people thought was so great. I remember my parents bought me the toy version of the spinner US title for my birthday and when they said they could’ve gone with the regular version I was pissed😂
Cena becoming world champion turned me off wwe, if it wasn’t for me discovering impact and other promotions the guy would’ve driven me away from wrestling permanently. I still can’t stand the guy lol. Shit design, shit wrestler.
I Hate the Spinner. I do like the general shape of it though, but overall it is so tacky and John Cena 2005/Mid 2000's Bling Bling era Specific. It looked DATED as early as like 2008/2009 and didn't fit guys like Triple H, Sheamus, CM Punk, etc. It's hard to believe it stayed around for 8 years. The Big Logo design is 1000 times better and was such an upgrade.
