- Welcome to the second and third runs of my modified Tamiya DT-02 in the Speed Competition set by Peter Smith @cw-01creations46 . This modified DT-02 was originally a Holiday Buggy and is my entry in the BRUSHED class.
This comp is open to anyone around the world with a Tamiya DT-02 and there are super prizes for the 2 classes, brushed and brushless. Check out the rules and prizes in Peter Smith's video here:

Here are the specs of my car in this run:
LRP 14x2 turn brushed motor
Tamiya Hobbywing 1060 brushed ESC
22T pinion / stock spur gear
Full ball bearing conversion
3600mAh NiMh and Zeee 5200mAh LiPo batteries
Stock chassis with extension plates
Tamiya Neo Scorcher body
Home-made alloy front wing

Shocked again!!! 40 mph is very good indeed, my racing fighter with 12 t traxxas motor was 27 mph with lipo, so you did good, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐱
Glad to shock you mate! Yea I was chuffed with that run, not bad with the 14T motor. I think I was faster than yours due to the gearing and big wheels - 27 is an impressive speed, Cat! Have a good one dude! 🙏😎👊🦫👍

I'm glad you mentioned the headache regarding making a 22t pinion fit......
We finally got ours built yesterday, and I said to Taylor "that's guna take some serious plastic butchering to get a 22t to fit in there!!
Currently waiting for the 19t pinion to arrive in the post, hopefully get our first run in next week.

IDK about the subs, I've lost about 5 a day for a few days running, it's usually the opposite to that.

Awesome runs, Mark! The gear ratio game can be a bit of a head-scratcher at times, can't it? It's incredible how those bigger rear tires made the car run so much smoother and faster. You could really hear the motor hit the power band. Excellent runs!

Hi Mark, thats so impressive hitting 40mph with a brushed motor ( even if you did use a lipo. ) I can understand thd bigger wheels adding significantly to the speed, but I'm with you - the new pinion only adding 1mph was strange. Loving the support from you dude, it really does spur me on to try and think up ways to go faster! 👊 Yeah I worked out that 22T is over 10% over 19T, so at the last run of 36mph it should be at least 3.6mph faster. WTF?!?!?! Anyway, it went a bit quicker and those big wheels made even more difference, which also didn't make sense! But there you go, these RC cars don't seem to follow the laws of physics! 😅 My weekend was good, hope yours was too! 😎👊🦫👍

Always a pleasure to watch the two of you faffing about with that tablet and stuff, forgot the controller and forgot Barbara's Beaver, he he! What's with all the rubbish? McFecking Yeah McMate! I'm chuffed with that speed. And it runs as straight as an arrow, I could have left the chassis stock but you know I like to tinker with my RC's. Haha, yeah I keep forgetting everything, it's my age don't you know?!?!?!

Thanks Steve, I left the rear wing off because I thought it would add drag, but yes it would look better! Tell me about it, it really p!sses me off about the a-holes that litter the place. Folk just turn up in this car park and empty all their garbage out of their cars. They do it on my street at home. It's degusting how many folk just don't have any pride or respect for where they live. 😢

Hiya mate. Ooh blimey, 40 Mcmiles an hour on brushed 😮 I'm thinking that you must be getting to the limits of what's possible within the constraints of the rules. Hey do you ever feel the urge to take some bin bags and a litter picker to that car park? Isn't it depressing how much rubbish people leave behind 😞 Good info about the difficulty of squeezing the 22t pinion in there. Must say I've not really had any time to look into it but I do hope to get my car a bit quicker and have another attempt. I'm just watching Rob's vid and his 38mph and I need to beat him at least! Yeah, the constant littering by the feckwits that live in my are really gets my goat.
