  • Former All Blacks scrum coach Mike Cron joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport, talking about his new role as part of Joe Schmidt's coaching group at the Wallabies. Cron - who's highly regarded around the world as the scrum guru - was confirmed in the role across the ditch earlier this week, which raised a few eyebrows back here in New Zealand.
He talks to Devlin about how the role came about, what his duties specifically will be, how he's developed as a coach over the years, and more.

Mike is a class act and a top bloke. He did a great job for the ABs and now will do a great job for the Wallabies. Share the wealth I say, we all want Rugby to be better and by Mike going over the ditch to help out our friends is a very good thing. Thanks for your service Mike, you are highly respected in the Rugby world.

When our brothers and sisters across the ditch can do with a hand playing one of the games that we both love we don't laugh in their face.

The stronger and more competitive Aussie are, the tougher the matches are against Aussie the better the ABs will be, which will help them against the likes of the Boks and the Irish...

The financial position of the ARU is one of the worst if not the worst of the top tier teams. NZ can't hold on to everyone, with an eye to the future it makes sense to let the older ones go.

um no it doesnt, he could be coaching in n.z @@itistrue101 even if its the young ones. it is what it is, you cant stop them going, but n.z treat great n.z coaches badly tichens etc..

Do you know the bloke? You understand that this is his reputation on the line. You don't get a reputation such as Mike Crons by "not caring and just taking the money"
