There are plays where I can see why he went #1. But man, the pressure in his face every drop back is just exhasuting week in and week out to watch as a panthers fan.
When does Corbett come back?
Within the next 21 days per a report I heard today. This timeline had to do with his injury report / roster designation.
@@kencabanilla2056I think he’s eligible this week but haven’t heard anything might be few more weeks
Guess what? CJ Stroud has more pressure, and he is playing great.
@@Lee-ic8ln CJ Stroud left guard didn’t allow 14 pressures in a single game last week
Honestly, as a Panthers fan, thank you JT. Panthers media is in a meltdown because of how the season is going, some even calling Bryce a bust. Seeing your videos keeps me sane as we let our QB1 develop. We aren't a real team yet, but we have something to build around in Carolina.
He played very poorly last week and is a bottom 3 qb right now, both Stroud and Richardson are 2-2 with worse teams
Calling him a bust for having a pretty normal Rookie season is beyond stupid and I can’t believe that so many people keep talking this shit. AR and Stroud are doing better but these two also have some elite scheming from what I’ve seen. Hardly possible to project their careers after 4 games
@@lnnrt0161Bryce is a bust
@@ada443 He's played a grand total of 4 NFL games. Expecting every rookie to look good on bad teams less than a quarter through their 1st season is ridiculous. Give him a couple years and some talent around him before judging, for fuck's sake.
@@ada443he didn’t play poorly he had 18 completions in a row at one point the oline and RB missing assignments as you seen in the video killed us
The play at 7:09 really said a lot about where I think that Young is in his progression as a QB and where the League, as a whole, sees him. You called it zero, but I think that if you go over it a few times, they give him a much more exotic look, b/c they believe that he's a capable QB. Pre-snap, they have their FS in a pressure look outside the slot, but directly after the snap, he immediately races to cover the deep middle, reminiscent to Tampa-2. The SS drops to cover the flat to the field side, and the field corner drops to take the deep quarter to that side in more of an inverted Palms coverage. Even though the boundary corner dropped fairly deep, it seemed that he was simply trying to get depth on the flanker. This really ended being more a split-field coverage w/ quarters to the field and zero (maybe two) to the boundary. So, it appeared to either be a disguised cover six or that more exotic look of cover 40 (or whatever you call it in your system).
I love this. Great breakdown and explanation. You got my sub. Keep that Panthers breakdown coming
Thanks for the sub!
Finally!!! Keep up the good work man!
Waited on this, thanks JT!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Was not expecting a Week 4 analysis on Bryce..... thank you JT!
Been waiting on this
Panthers fans don’t panic! Stafford went 2-14 his rookie year playing worse then Bryce and went 10-6 two years later making the playoffs. We got our quarterback we just need to bunker the hatches for a minute
Trevor lawrence threw 12 TDs and 17 Intercetions his rookie year.
I feel this. Our offense line… specifically Zavala is SO bad. More than 2X more pressures than any other lineman. 14 in one game, versus next highest is 14 all season…
🫡🫡🫡
@@ericcipolla I can’t even blame Zavala. He’s been the most consistent draft pick outside of Bryce and we took him in the 5th round. Mingo and Terrance Marshall have disappointed though.
Stafford was not drafted by a team with a HC that didn't want him. The fit here between QB and head coach could not be worse.
Got to come out of the gate with some #19 !
They should be 2-2 if not for silly mistakes and lack of execution. Maybe theyre not as bad as the record shows
Yeah, I don’t think they are. Just too many stupid mental errors and poor play calling.

I’ve learned so much from watching this channel ex: when it’s cover 0 check to a slant!!
You mean post 😂
Thank you for the breakdown, JT
Love the vid, waiting for the Zach Wilson breakdown on if it was all playcalling or luck
Maybe the play calling allowed Zach to play freely and make decisions for himself and show off the arm talent

19 putting his hands up because he broke open on a what’s supposed to be a clear out. It’s been taught before. You’re coming for him for everything damn lol
Agreed. He is running the post, why are we acting like Thielen would know what is happening in backfield as he makes his break
Waddup JT!! Can u PLEASE do an Analysis on Zach Wilson's Week 4 matchup against KC?? i definitely seen an improvement in that game & noticed a big difference in the play-calling but my Big question is, "Is it sustainable?" & what would you grade his performance.
Thanks So Much! & Huge Fan of the Channel btw

Champing at the bit for Sam Howell Analysis
30:10 and Bryce stans be like "Wide receivers NEVER get open what's Bryce supposed to do:???" LMAO
Thank you for this breakdown.
So excited to watch Bryce grow. Just hope coaching and GM don't ruin him before he can.
As a panthers fan, love these on Bryce. Really hope he’s the one
It's pretty obvious, he's the one and he knows how to avoid injuries, unlike that dude up in Indy
He’s not the one.
What koolaid is everyone drinking and where can I find some because I’m having great difficulty seeing the Bryce is our guy perspective. What about Stroud? Half those sacks on Young would’ve been shrugged off by Stroud, it’s just physics for one…
Lions fan here. Make no mistake, Bryce is special. Like, really special. He's developing every week and visibly improving. He is extremely smart, and you can be 100% sure he is going to correct the things he needs to. His poise is that of a 10-year vet, and even some of them dont have it. It's a young team. Mingo is still getting up to speed. O-line is still trying to gel. You got some studs on defense. I don't like some of the play calls, but I'm sure the coaches are going to improve as they get more in tune with the players. They will start to put it all together as the season goes on, and you will see it. Screw the media, they were calling for MC/DC's job at one point last year. This team WILL be great, and I hope you guys continue to believe in Bryce and the team, because they want to make you proud and it will show. You got a future Hall of Fame QB on your hands.
Alright bro, calm down lol
Thx
Good luck next Sunday pal, not that you’ll need it or anything
Dude relax!
Lions fan finally have a winning season and now they think they know how to judge a team.
26:40 even though the RB missed the assigned block 17 is still open, that’s a pitch and catch but he has to throw it at exactly 2 seconds he would’ve beat the pass rush by a second or half a second.
28:12 he’s gotta get the ball out quicker here too. I understand the pass protection from #30 might’ve been missed but just look out how fast CJ Stroud gets the ball out of his hands. Bryce has to let that thang go to the slant. I honestly don’t think he can see.
Thank you! All this talk about OL and WRs as if other teams aren't watching film. They know he can't throw deep. They see his drop back/step up is stupid slow. They see him holding the ball forever. A DC would be dumb not to stack the box on em. That OL wouldn't be seeing that pressure if Bryce was actually a threat to the worst defense in the league and he's not.
love the mad men reference jt
Came here just to point out that Thielen is in fact not washed. His hand was up cus he’s been open. Now that Bryce has been throwing him the ball, he’s finally proving his worth.
Theilen is elite, now & in the past. Couldn't ask for a better options to throw to.
@@dabneyoffermein595its a few better options
Great analysis, laser focus on the problems.
"A little chicagoey" lmao
What grade would u give the panthers offensive play calling in this game and games 1-4?
@TheQBSchool the Ravens with Lamar would occasionally run the 5 verticals play, both in red zone and 2 minute drill
there ya go
As far as the offensive line struggles go, i hope that they'll be resolved when Corbett comes back this week. It would get Zavala off the field, who has let up twice as many pressures as any other OG in the league. It would be a massive improvement in protection. Also, there are heavy rumors that Carolina is actively searching for a trade partner for a WR, so if that happens ot could be a big help also. Honestly i think the struggles come down mostly to lack of trust in the line and the receivers.
Yeah but they're going up against a pretty good D-line this week.
Corbett won't be back until week 7 at the earliest
@shardofsouls3832 He literally is already back participating in practice. Not sure where you're getting that from but it's just false.
@@andrewjazdzyk1215 true, but it's much better to do that with your borderline pro bowl caliber guard than with a 3rd round pick rookie who needs a lot of work before he's a starter
If a lineman holds his block for 5 secs but his guy gets a sack because the QB won't throw the ball, would that be the lineman's fault?
Thank you jt for all you do ! Don’t pay attention to the Twitter trolls they’re the part of the fan base we leave at home lol
21:15 when 90 on Defense drops into coverage like this to take away the quick slant. Shouldn’t the RT pick up the safety blitz ? They ran this blitz more than once so what’s the adjustment?
Love your breakdowns and do like how you're showing this is not all Bryce yes he's made mistakes but thats to be expected... and I honestly think he has done pretty good for the lack of help and especially the lack of blocking for him...gotta be patient and understand with all the new pieces we have and now all the injuries we have its gonna take time... if we were getting blown out every game then yea it would be time to maybe panic Lol but we have been all the games and had opportunities to win some but usually in the 4th we still in it so I think it's gonna come together but like I said it's gonna take time...I'll use 1 example Detroit was 1-6 last year and Dan Campbell was on the hot seat and everybody was talking about how the Lions suck... and BOOM they turned it all around and now them and their coach are talked about as being one of the best teams in the NFC... we'll get there I still believe in my team and this coaching staff... definitely not ready to give up after 4 games thats just ridiculous...😊
Brutal... Never been more skeptical of BY than after this.
More skeptical after this? You must have thought he was a first ballot HOFer before you clicked on this video lol
@@imhim9989 no I was already skeptical... that's the issue lol
You are right to be skeptical because it's becoming clearer and clearer that he is a system QB who is dependent on short crossers and WR screens with a great offensive line. That's what Alabama does. It's like West coast offense Jr. And it doesn't work in the NFL.
On the non-throw against Cover 0 towards the end. Do we think that's an example of the height coming into play? If you look at timestamp 28:45, right as the double move hits and 19 breaks to the end-zone Bryce is looking that way through a wall of linemen. Can he even see it open up? Is the move to the right his attempt to get a view of the downfield situation? It seems like he breaks free enough to get a view and throw off anyway.
I was at the game, saw 19 open for that late TD. No idea why he didn’t let it loose. Seems to be losing confidence. I wish you’d included the two throws he put in the end zone that bounced off the face of his receivers!
Glad to hear someone else understanding panther fans pain rn, but from a far more technical understanding than most of us have lmao.
Kids making rookie mistakes as expected but holy shit the o line, WR's, and play calling isn't helping him any
He’s dumping it behind the los every play. Dude is scared for his life. Sub 5 Y/A is on him too.
JT said something nice about Thielen. Is this the end of the world or something?
19 earning his spot around these parts
the film is the film
Hes a was a really good WR just old and alot slower these days
#19 is on pace for 1200yrds and 8.5tds, he’s played 140 games with 7k yrds and almost 60tds, he’s not Tyreek hill but he’s pretty damn good
He is a great wife reciever two, more of a route runner with sure hands. But that’s all they have is a bunch of slow route runners. The only two players who are fast enough to seperate (dj chark and laviska) are used in basically only screens. There’s a reason he was always wr2 in Minnesota, obviously diggs was great but he just doesn’t have wr1 speed, and he doesn’t have jump ball capabilities to make up for it
I need the JF1 breakdown !

Do more dak Prescott videos , particularly if he doesn’t do well , I’d like to see your analysis on a game like that
What are some things a receiver can do to get more open and help the qb out
In man coverage? With a rookie QB with a weak arm who's accurate but doesn't have great ball placement? Nothing!
Hey JT, can you do Aidan O'Connell's first start? Would love to his film broken down.
i wanted to. not sure it's going to happen
Thank you so much 4 this ❤ #DemPanthers
It's just rookie mistakes and he'll get better, the speed of the NFL and just the overall defensive coverage takes time to adjust. He's making little baby steps in improving, and one of his biggest problems in college was how long he holds onto the ball after the snap.
What I don't understand is DJ and TMJ are both supposed to have 4.3-4.4 speed
Maybe Thielen is raising his arm so often because he is a veteran trying to help a rookie. As far as coaching goes, you know the Vikings are blitz happy with their new DC. Not having any answers is criminal.
Aiden O’Connell would be an interesting video, his first start against the chargers? 👀
He said a Romo bounce lol. 19:03
he says that alot for lucky af bounces
As a panthers fan please keep doing these for us, we’re trying to figure out what’s happening. Great content 🔥
You have an offense that wants to be built around a QB. First you need to go out and find a QB. That's what's happening.
I watch the games now and think "that'll be on QB School because it needs explaining"
Question: do you think if the Panthers get the #1 pick, which seems very possible, do they go Caleb or stay with Bryce and trade out or just use the pick on someone else?
Our 1st rounder belongs to the Chicago Bears 😅
My takeaway: Bryce is a pro at putting balls on bodies… paws
receivers just aren't finding grass, whether its the coaches, routes or players idk but you would think they could run to the open grass and look for the ball
Zach Wilson next pls
He's so short. If the pocket is collapse in at all he has to contort his throwing form so much.
13:45 NO that post is not open 😭😭😂😂😂😂 the tight end on the bottom is where it should go
14:06 oh ok now that you say lead him away, i see it esp if the guy is faster.
Bryce is the least worrying thing about the Panthers
I think the most worrying thing is you may have a HC and OC that don't know how to train a QB. It will be interesting to see if he improves over the season. If the scheme and/or he doesn't got get that coaching staff out of there.
Finally you quit apologizing for this dude. He ultimately gonna be fine but hey we gotta call it like it is. This league is about getting the ball out and on time. Quick and decisive decisions, correct reads and throw the ball sith conviction.
However. Losing Brady Christensen AKA Zach Wilson's left tackle at BYU who never gave up a single sack in 4 years but was ultinately changed to LG for us. Losing him the first game of the season has proven to be catastrophic for our running game, which obviously isn't good. Our RG, 2nd round pick by thr Rams in 2017 - Austin Corbett, was placed on the pup list preseason. Getting him back this week and HOPEFULLY moving his backup to the LG position should help things a lot. Our backup LG is terrible. It makes you question how the skill discrepancy could be SO drastic. Bryce has to be better tho. I for sure noticed an urgency in his entire body language and decisions this past week which was a positive. Something to build off of and that's what we love.
Idk on the post clear where Adam put his hand up to me it looks like he Broke open he just didn’t know Bryce got clobbered
I don’t subscribe to the “too short to succeed” narrative about him generally, but I sure see it on that play. Watch the D-lineman force his blocker 72 right into his line of vision to Theilen at the moment he needed to let it fly. He turned it down because they were literally in his way. Protection has got to be better and coaches gotta scheme him daylight with rollouts etc if he is going to have a chance in this league.
Bryce has shown flashes, especially over the middle which is encouraging. Ball security worries me a little but the things that need fixing are clear. Better protection, better weapons. Bryce will only improve with time if the coaches help him out
nope. He isn't good
Bryce is incapable. All this talk about WRs, OL, play calling blah blah when the dude has the slowest drop back/step up in the league. He holding the ball too long. Also....he has a weak arm. He can nail the short stuff all day. Starting getting up into that 15 plus yard range and his accuracy and velocity starts to dwindle. The few deep balls he's tried this season have all rainbowed through the air lol.
essentially none of what you just said is true but ok@@kevykev388
Chicago catching strays on bad spacing
Thank you. That’s all I gotta say. This man is handcuffed let him play dammit
Do the Panthers have a shot against the Dolphins this coming weekend? Could they pull off the upset? Miami got throttled in one of their games this year, can't remember who they got the beat down from, but could it be another one of those surprises?
It’s an NFL game so they have a chance by I wouldn’t bet on it 😂
HA, that's what i thought, Frank Reich is a disaster if they go 0-6. At what point do you start losing the locker room? 0-8 or sooner?@@AlphaDwg
Everyone thought it was bad of the Colts to fire Reich, now you are seeing why the fans were so happy about it. He’s terrible, poor Bryce…
This is how I've been feel. Everyone is talking about how Bryce is a bust. No he was given a coach that was a failure last year and has showed us this year is he is the same failure he was with the colts.
Bro enough; give us the AOC vid
Pointed out several problems but I think the biggest problem is the playcalling/design. Multiple instances in which the design did not help the QB at all. Playcalling is not helping the o-line either.
Bryce is changing plays at the line. He made it known today at his press that he has the freedom to do so. Yall want the OL, WR and Frank to get all the blame so bad but it starts with the QB. He's the 1st overall pick who's supposed to be the difference maker and he's not.
I thought i was already subscribed smh 😂
I know it can't be fun for you, cause it's painful for me to watch, but can we get some more Desmond? I'm thinking this week is his last chance to keep the job, would love to see you evaluate his play again.
BY is a split second late turn into negative plays.
I'm curious about your thoughts on the inconsistency of what we usually refer to as "processing." I was impressed with Bryce's ability to read and react at 'Bama. We also see Mac Jones seemingly processing things slowly recently. However, both of these players have shown the ability to process things at a very high level. How can we evaluate a QB's cognitive capacity to sustainably play the position at a high level among the noise of bad scheme, poor execution, and experience. For example, on the play Bryce passed up a post with 0 coverage but then made a creative play, I think it demonstrated that he does have a unique feel of the game and the mental capacity to process the field. That play was both slightly concerning and positive. Should more weight be given to evaluating within the structure of the play, or those last late reaction plays? CJ Stroud was criticized for the latter while at OSU, but was impressive within the structure of the play. Idk, I just would like to hear your thoughts on how to make sense of it for evaluating QB potential.
Don’t give the 9ers any more ideas please 😭
He does not have the arm for those deeper throws.79 needs to move to guard and get another left tackle.
27:53 bryce definitely has time to get this ball out lol this happens at least 3 times in this game and he still doesnt expect/feel the safety coming 😅
Frank Reich and those WR screens. Was so frustrating to watch when he was with the Colts
The screens were so bad! I understand our run game is down the drain, but cmon! It feels like watching Herbert at Oregon.
It doesn’t help when we don’t have a competent play caller nor a WR can get any separation. We’re not giving him any chances to succeed yet on top of his mistakes/learning.
You can’t expect wide open receivers all the time in the NFL. QB has to be willing to throw the ball with velocity and accuracy. If the receivers suck so bad why did Dalton put up 27 points and over 300 yards?
Oh stop! Since 2019, Carolina has had THE worst QBs under center. Bryce is the latest one. He's got to throw that ball quicker. He's accurate but his ball placement isn't the best. There's no such thing as "open" in man coverage. There are windows....they open and they close....much quicker than they did in Alabama. He's gotta throw that ball. Quick holding onto it.
No one can evaluate Bryce until they get an offensive line and a better receiving core
Thank you for calling that bs out with “ 19”
No Justin Fields video this week?

Patreon. been there
You have to do one on fields last game. Let the bears fans know if he can be the guy. Loved your last video on him too!
Lost it when 19 threw up the mailbox at the end
ngl bryce missed some touchdown passes, too early to call him a bust, but if he keep doing that…
Patiently waiting for stafford tape of his insane performance..🥹
Just clicked, but as a Panthers Fan I def don't blame Bryce for the 4 Ls in a row, hell we were lucky to even have a chance to win w the terrible play calls on offense!
I also thought Bryce looked mature beyond his years to not turn the ball over trying to make something from nothing on 3rd down after 1-2 yard runs on 1st and 2nd down! This is what gave us a chance...
Then when Bryce is in more control of the plays in 2min we moved the ball alot better but Bryce didn't look as sharp then either especially reading the def!
This is what we gave up 3 first round pics for?
Sam Howell. Please.
I’m not a huge Bryce fan, but I feel confident that he would be the one we’re fawning over if he was on the Texans… which is weird to say.
He's really good when protection holds up. So accurate and smooth, and doesn't get rattled.
If the two receivers actually caught the balls that hit their faces in the end zone it would've been a different game. But yall want to blame everything on Bryce. I get it, he does hold on the ball 2-3 secs too long. But those are known rookie mistakes, and it's shown from game to game that he's improving.
I think the plays that Bryce misses on late in the game is like you said he’s been pressured all day. Pressure makes QB’s of all caliber do uncharacteristic shit. Until we are able to let the kid drop back for 2.5-3 seconds a play we will never win nor will we see his development. It’s like trying to teach a baby to swim but throwing them in the big pool. I know it’s the big leagues, Bryce does too, but right now he has to much weight on his shoulders and he won’t reach his full potential if things don’t change very quickly as far as pass pro goes.
1st overall picks are projected to be ready for huge pressures and putting everything on their shoulders and change the team drastically, thats why they gave up so much and got him and thats what being a 1st pick is. He's just too small and looking like a legit bust. Even the way he talks so soft now shows he doesnt have "it" and has 0 confidence. Just look at CJ Stoud, that pressure even made him and his teammates better, just watch his interviews he has so much swag. The difference is CJ is a real leader that makes his average 3rd-4th sting teammates better, and is willing to protect him at all cost. Bryce teammates dont even care to help him up when he gets sacked. Panthers 0 chemistry and leadership. Any system works if the players execute well.
We gave up 3 first round pics for a guy who caves in the fourth quarter? What a joke.
Panthers will never admit it but they gotta be kicking themselves for not taking AR or Stroud over Young. Hope things get better for Bryce
Painful to watch with all that pressure, and even worse when there are easy targets for Bryce but the constant pressure makes him run and lose vision. Just need to beef up pass protection and either pickup a speed demon or get smart with play calling.
25:08 #19 wide open the whole time.
Lmao Byrce gets a breakdown but not geno 😂 😊
People are more interested in the no. 1 pick and not a journeyman. 🤷♀️
Bryce is missing sum shots maybe cuz he’s not trusting his line/receivers but he’s looking good fr but wassup wit these TE’s and WR’s running the same route in the same spot
Probably on Tremble there. He was almost certainly supposed to run a flat and got confused and ran a hitch.
idk why the media is giving up on him especially behind that line lol
These breakdowns for Bryce this year have shown how bad the play calling and WRs are more than anything 😂
play calling is bad, please don't tell me Frank Reich is still calling plays
I would ask for Daniel jones but there is nothing to analyze 😭
