I’ll never get over this exchange. Thanos shatters an attempt at the mirror dimension, and Dr. Strange transmutes a black hole into a swarm of fucking butterflies. Wish this fight would have gone on just a bit longer.
Definitely wasn’t an “actual” black hole but yeah I get you. Crazy fight with some amazing power on display

He was awesome in his first movie. We don't have to talk about the second one.

MOM is a disaster of a movie.
0:39 I like how Thanos is so used to violence that he ever flinched to butterflies
I mean he fought for centuries he was a warrior so yeah, it does make sense.
And he knew that Strange was an honored being.
After spending eons in a loop with Dormamu, Strange is quite the wizard.
The funny thing is, Thanos didn’t want to retrieve the stones yet because o the Ancient One, Surtur, Odin and Dormamu, and yet the heroes could go against those guys and even won against them.

And Surtur, once he got to the eternal flame was never defeated.
Also Thanos was lucky the avengers where all over the place when he attacked while so many stones where suddenly found on one planet.
Add to that that he also had to wait until he had an idea of where the soul stone was.
This only happened when Nebula went after Thanos trying to kill him and was captured.

Theres prob other better reasons, which is why i'm so in love with this franchise!
@@spectralquill1810 well he saw many possibilities, and there was only one in which they were winning and that was not it, so something might have went wrong.
I love Thanos' reaction to the butterflies. He prepares to be blasted with some powerful attack but then he realises it's just a bunch of butterflies and drops his arms like "Seriously? Butterflies?"
You can tell Strange is holding back just enough to not let on that he knows the future. If he just gave up, Thanos would have been suspicious. He needed to sell Thanos on the idea that Thanos was in control
Strange would have lost either way, him doing this was the only way to actually win. The power stone in the guardians movie destroyed the entire surface of an planet id imagine Thanos can do the same thing here. I do like how Strange fights - he's a Doctor, and he took an oath to do no harm. So, he doesn't attack to wound or kill. He captures, binds, transports people to different places, supports what his team-mates do, deals with side problems, looks into the future, makes bargains and in extreme cases he directs the harm others do back onto them, but he doesn't do direct harm.
That's likely part of why he pushes himself so hard, and throws himself into magical study. Even when fighting someone as dangerous as Thanos, he wants to be capable enough to defend himself and others and end the fight, without having to use deadly force.

He has the gauntlet stuffed with almost all the gems, power of force and reality stone plus all the others puts him onto master sorcerer level if not above so what is the problem?
Perhaps the eye was designed to draw power from the stone housed inside to augment its durability. Or perhaps Strange's dead man's lock spell was partially powered by the stone itself, that's why when the stone was removed, the eye was no more than a trinket.
Don't forget Thanos crushed the tesseract at the beginning of the movie while Loki spent half of Avengers just trying to get enough power to activate. Then in End Game, he smashed Cap's shield into pieces. Thanos' physical strength is off the charts, it's not surprising he could crush the Eye.

A masterpiece in MCU.
Still here in 2023.
The back and forth on this scene was amazing wish it would of been longer
0:26 Thanos used the power stone to exert a beam of powerful gamma energy on Dr. Strange.
0:30 Thanos used the power stone again to destroy incoming damage from him.
0:32 Thanos used the space stone to collect absorbed damage from Dr. Strange, deflecting the damage directly from him.
0:54 Thanos used the soul stone to detect the real soul of Dr. Strange and power stone to execute the multiple versions of Dr. Strange.
0:58 Thanos use the reality stone and space stone to bend rock and debris to drag Dr. Strange to him directly.
I still remember seeing this when it first came to theaters, everyone was on the edge of the seats I swear
I always love fights like this. You can be so creative with stuff like this or the fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort from Order of the Phoenix.
Strange is clearly a Yu-Gi-Oh fan, playing Mirror Force like that.
It's very impressive that strange fought thanos when he had already four stones and at a time it seemed like thanos also became clueless of the wizard's tricks without the help of the time stone.. Really appreciative 👍👍👍👍
This really show the power of dr strange, he manages to put up a fight even when thanos has 4 infinity stones
Miki rin the budget says no
@Miki rin no one was able to handle thanos 1v1 ESPECIALLY with the stones on. Strange stood ground for quite a while.
@Miki rin Let's not forget Strange was also nerfed. What if it was Black priest strange?
@Miki rin Bruh, you talk like Strange wasn't also nerfed🤣
i love how thanos flinched with the butterflies, really good detail
Makers of Multiverse of Madness forgot the powers strange had.
Strange was more powerful here in this few seconds of showdown than in (supposedly) his own movie.
The imagination behind most of these fight scenes in this movie are really great. A fun showcase of each hero and villains’ abilities, and this is definitely one of the best.
Arguably the best action scene of the MCU.
I love how Thanos flinches at the butterflies for a split second because he expected a counter-attack, then gets confused
People seem to forget that strange knew he had to do the sequence in order to get victory.
Clearly, this was recommended to everyone in the last 24 hours, even though it was uploaded 1 1/2 years ago 😂
Dr. Strange is such an underrated hero. He took on Thanos single-handedly and definitely held his own!
These spells would’ve been quite useful against Wanda in the passed movie multiverse of madness. Swear they nerfed strange every movie that comes out.
Infinity War Strange goes toe-to-toe with, if not completely defeats, Scarlet Witch. Thanos had her powers through the Reality stone, along with 3 OTHERS.
@@Connor_Kirkpatrick na, scarlet witch is stronger
@@anirudhgupta2570 Than four infinity stones? Really?
@@Connor_Kirkpatrick she is the scarlet witch ffs, and if doctor strange can go toe to toe with 4 stone thanos, whos to say scarlet witch cant? also its technically not full 4 stones because thanos isnt fully using its potential but thats aside the point, the scarlet witch is said to rule over the universe or establish chaos or something and is also said to be stronger than the sorcerer supreme so yea, she is stranger than this thanos.
@@anirudhgupta2570 “Stronger than the sorcerer supreme” Wong has done very little of note in the MCU. Not exactly an achievement. Every other argument you pose adds up to “Just trust me bro.”
Doctor Strange is said to be the sorcerer of supreme, but why didn’t he have the same energy here When Wanda showed up at kamar-taj?😂😂 like i know Wanda is all powerful and that but dude really ran for his life When Wanda showed up😂😂
Again, Agatha said that the scarlet which is more powerful than the sorcerer supreme.
@@Sassywizard lol, when agatha said that, it was wong that was acting as supreme sorcerer during that time
Strange has never been sorcerer supreme in any of the films. Its still Wong in Multiverse.
He was so nerfed so bad
and yet he didn't even stand a chance against Scarlet Witch in Multiverse of Madness. Makes no sense.
go watch infinity war bro
well, scarlet witch is more powerful than Thanos with the infinity gauntlet but she loses in terms of power to infinity Ultron and Dr strange supreme
She is stronger than him. She can destroy an infinity stone. He can’t. That should’ve been a clue, right there.
@@jubilantvision2212 only destroy the mind stone
do yall already forget wanda nearly killed thanos in endgame?? if only thanos didnt 'rain fire!' ....... and also wanda powers can exceeds a sorcerer supreme, this was said in wandavision~
I imagine that if Strange really wanted to, he could have soloed Thanos, but he did look and see that there was only one outcome they would win so I see why he didnt.
If Thanos wanted to, he could've killed Strange the moment he grabbed his neck.
@@caffemocca8855 Then he could only dreamt of getting time stone...
The way he pulls Dr is amazing
It sucks when Strange’s best fight scenes aren’t even in his own movies, not even his recent one, a big miss for Marvel on this one
He possessed a fuckin zombie and used cursed souls as a cape, and killed a smarter version of himself lol what more do u want?
@@Scooter227 None of that has nothing to do with what I said but okay
@@RubenSanchez-qw2zx zombie Strange with a cape made of souls x2
@Scooter The zombie strange felt like a bit of a cop out to me since he gets that power from the dark hold and controls the demons only after Christine tells him how. There weren’t any moments where I looked at Stephen in MoM and said “that’s a powerful character” like I did in Infinity War.
@@RubenSanchez-qw2zx its literally related to what you said
When Dr Strange has a better fight than in Dr Strange 2 that's supposed to be about magic....
Ok but can we just consider the fact Peter is still a kid and he saved everyones lives
Thats kinda spider mans thing since he was created in the comics.... your comment is so dumb since that is basically what defines his character, he is a highschool kid that has to fight crime while trying to become an adult and handle his teenage problems at the same time.

Well. Not great.
Thanos reaction to the butterflies spell really got him, he didn't expect nothing to happens
he used inf stones more frequently in this fight than any other fights except with thor in the last.
The thor thing wasn't even a fight
He didn't used the power of the stones agaisnt thor, just the basic energy blast of the stones...
