Talk about Spinal Tap moments, Just saw the Ace videos on the Monsters of Rock Cruise. Ace appears unable to hear and keep up. He seems deaf, The smoke guitar went off by accident and he forgot he was the lead singer a few times. Wreck and Roll all night. Downtown Beirut looked better than that show.
It is impossible to be late for a concert on a ship unless Ace fell overboard your cabin is your dressing room.

I listen to “PERMISSION TO LAND “ three to four times a week every week it’s such a breath of fresh air as far as rock goes cos when P.T.L came out rock was in a bad place and it had lost its identity. SO THANKYOU GUYS.

Montreal is such a beautiful city. I went there on a business trip once, and had a great time. Everyone was super friendly. And well dressed. Our hosts took us to dinner at the Hard Rock on Catherine Street, and we sat outside. It was a Saturday night, so there were tons of people out. There were no T-shirts and backward ball caps. There was a distinctly European vibe about it. Sorry to ramble. You live in a cool place!

It's cool to read that, yes we have somewhat of a european feel to the city, mostly coming from our european french and english heritage, if you comeback someday i'm suggesting you go take a walk in the Old Montreal part of the city, art galleries, nice restaurants near the old port of Montreal along the St-Lawrence river (Fleuve St-Laurent)

Killer hook on Cherry Medicine! Thanks for featuring it Justin and we love the Darkness too. Dinner Lady Arms has a similar uplifting quality to the chorus, of course not same key, tempo, etc. but we hope you get what we mean, basically a hook that floats!

Thanks for the Ace Frehley review!!! Been a fan of his since '78. His solo album was the first record I ever purchased. I'm digging this record! The verses in this are a bit pedestrian, but the chorus took me by surprise and has been stuck in my head since my first listen. As for leather choice, it's gotta be black, since this is a throw-back to his KISS song "Shock Me" from back in the day. Cognac leather is a nice 2nd choice!

I've been an Ace fan since I was a kid. His new album is a pretty solid rock album.

He's kinda sad in his old age, i don't think rock n roll ages well. But check out his guitar solo from 100,000 Years sometime. How a person can take the pentatonic scale and come up with some of those licks is beyond me. He really was great during that Alive era.

Cognac is a sexy beast of a color! I really liked this song because I have always liked that type of chord sequence. I don't know what the chord numbers are for this. I-III-VI (Beato) or whatever. Anyone know? You can indeed understand every word Ace says. Clear as a bell. This is what I'd call a stomper. Four on the floor, not fast but not plodding. You don't have to be a Terpsichore to dance to this. This is fun bar music. This would be really fun bar music at sea. The heavy metal contained within that boat is going to be heavier than the metal the boat is made of.
I was a vegetarian for a while and the way I thought about my leather shoe or jacket purchases was that the animal had already been slaughtered for it's meat. It left behind a hide. If you desire to eat an animal, then you should use as much of the animal as possible. Nothing should go to waste. Well made leather goods can last a long time. I've had some good leather shoes that I had re-soled two or three times. I bought from thrift stores where possible. Some friends from my teen years are still rocking the Ramones leathers they wore in the late '70's. The leathers still look really good, so no need to buy more than one in your life. Our leathers are less wrinkly than we are, and will outlive us. The Revenge of the Cows.
Although I love Ace I didn't care for this song that much at first. But hearing your positive spin on it makes me appreciate it more.
