- The Solid Step Storage Box is designed to fill the opening left if you remove the old OEM foldable RV steps. It goes hand in hand with the LCI Solid Step entrance stairs I recently installed. Solid Step Stairs Install Video - www.loveyourrv.com/installing...

The storage box is made of powder-coated steel with a locking rubber sealed lid. It's capable of holding up to 100 lbs. In this video, I take you through my installation process.
The first thing required for installation is to mount a metal support bracket onto the trailer I-Beam (note: I-Beam needs to be 8" or larger). This bracket attaches to the steel beam with eight self-tapping TEK screws. I centered the bracket, drilled small pilot holes, and screwed on the bracket.
Next, I mounted the storage box to the steel I-Beam bracket using two tabs they have riveted on the backside. Then finished the job by screwing in 4 flange bolts.
The box looks great, filling the void left by removing the old steps and coming in handy as extra storage. Plans are to keep our hiking and rubber boots in it. Overall I'm happy with the new storage box. It's heavy-duty for sure!
A few things I don't like:
1) Use of the very commonly owned CH751 key - www.loveyourrv.com/rv-storage...
2) It adds an extra 40 lbs or so to our rig's weight
One thing I'd like to do is beef up things up even more by utilizing the old steps metal hangers. I plan to add a few extra bolts to the box's side, attaching it to them.
Stay tuned as next I will be installing the optional Solid Step Lift Assist Kit - www.loveyourrv.com/SolidStepLift

And that storage box was the logical part "B" to the steps. I love it! I use it for my landing gear blocks and wheel chocks.
Both the stairs and box are on my "To Purchase" list. Thanks so much!
First 5 mins answered my question from your install vid... didnt see this post lol.
The storage box is a brilliant idea.
I just finished installing the steps and yes i had to remove both doors and remove about1/4" of material from the bottom.
We’d love to send you “summer”! It’s going to be in the 90’s for the next 16 days with anywhere from 90-100% humidity!
Another nice mod in the books. Keep these great videos coming Ray.
Thank you Ray, That storage box is a good idea!! Thank you!!
I might look into some kind of strapping to go all the way around the bottom rather than just adding more bolts. Just my $0.02. Looks good & sturdy! 👍
Want summer Ray, come to Ontario, we got up to 35 degrees today, driving through Toronto yesterday with trailer, Truck thermometer read a high of 99 degrees F., staying home for a little bit, box is ok but would not interest me, steps on my Reflection our 3 step aluminum folding type, love them also Lippert I think
I had to remove my threshold. And I had the gas strut that connected to the floor. Lost that too. I love the steps but best if it come with it in some cases
Would like recommend to LCI to change the lock mechanism on that box to a hasp so you can use a pad lock. My 2014 Redwood has the same CH751 key for my Level Up keypad compartment.
Great job Ray. Learned about my RV & box will be good addition for storage.
cool box, to bad it is not aluminum. Sense your stairs cover it up, i was thinking it is a great place to store your leveling & chock blocks along with other set up equipment. that way while you are set up you will have no need to lift the stairs to get into it. and it will open up storage space in another more convenient box. good luck & safe travels.
You just know that your stinky boots are gonna be safe with that ch751 lock guarding that 40 pound steel box! I'm amazed at what the manufactures of these things do. I guess it's a good thing and bad thing that you can only access the box with your steps up.
like julie said we are willing to swap our 95 in FLA with you.....please, not to worry we will survive, great video ray
Our main door closed fine with the solid steps. We sometimes had issues with the screen door. The brush sweep on the bottom of the door is what caused the issues. I see you don't have a sweep on the bottom of your door Ray. That might be why it closes so nicely.

The self drilling-self tapping screws are provided so you can install the bracket if you don’t have access to the back of the chassis to install nuts instead regular bolts.
Temperature sounds good, heat wave across south.
