- The Lippert Solid Step installation is quite a simple job. RV upgrades like thee make your RVing experience so much more enjoyable. RV steps are not something most people put thought into, this is a great upgrade.
For us our RV is our home, we spend a lot of time in it. This quick and easy travel trailer upgrade of RV steps has already made a big difference for us. We also decided to add Lippert's lift assist to our Solid Step. This helps when putting the RV steps away, using a hydraulic strut. They truly are SOLID, the trailer doesn't move at all upon entry, and they give a large entry platform. We hope this video of installing the Lippert Solid Step makes your installation easier!

Great video!!
Thanks for watching Ed we appreciate it!
I think your pup appreciates this!
Yeah he totally does. He still can't do it by himself but it's easier.
👍
Thanks for watching Robert
Replaced our original steps on our Jayco this past spring. Only a 2-stepper, but what a difference. Like Melissa, I saw them everywhere at a camper show two years ago and knew we had to have them. You really notice the difference in stability when 5 grandkids are in and out all day long. And, YES, the install was as easy as it looked. Great job!
YEAH. these are great. No more flex!
Although this might be a great step, I ordered mine in February, and now it's June and they still haven't shipped mine. Keep getting the email saying next month, next month. I'm about done with Lippert!
That's a bummer to hear.
Love the addition of the laugh track, it was really a step above.
Haha glad you liked it! 👍
Great stuff!!! My wife and I are now fans! We are looking for something similar.
Awesome! They have been good so far, very sturdy.
Solid step by step video! Excellent upgrade and hopefully much safer for Melissa 😉
Thanks! Pretty simple install, Melissa loves them!
Thank you so much for the video, I am so glad you have a Nash , the boondocking and the places where you go gives me a chance to experience the view and lifestyle. I hope in a couple of years God willing if I make it to retirement i Could travel out that way. Ps was on Northwood website and said to myself hey there's a picture of your rig so cool.
Thank you, we really like this trailer. Also yes, that is our truck and trailer on their site, it's exciting!
I would have loved to see a pun counter, would have been off the charts today! Great video!
Haha thats a great Idea, if we get another opportunity we will add that.
Good video. Travel safe.
Thanks Bob.
You guys are awesome!
Appreciate that, thank you.
You guys are great!! Love the step idea.
Thanks Micki!
Looks like a easy install step by step instructions you did.
Thanks, it was pretty simple. Fun project, and they are solid!
Nice work, and good idea!
Thank you. It was a fun installation.
Well done love your vids
Thanks Jeffrey we appreciate it!👍👍
Awesome vid guys!!! I am sure this will save me a few steps. About to purchase till I got to Assist lift. I have a door close to the Assist will fit. how far away from the wall does it stick out? Might be an issue.
Sticks out 5inches. In into the trailer. It's also about 3 in wide.
Oh wow was waiting for reply for a few days. Lol.
Thanks for quick response.
Haha I do my best to reply quickly!👍👊
One more thing did you have to modify the doors to get them to close properly?
We did not at all, fit perfectly.
How hard was it to attach the Hydraulic arm, my neighbors said they had a hell of a time uninstalling and reinstalling.
I thought it was pretty easy...🤷♂️ we did it while boondocking with limited tools.
I was going to comment about the storage box but you covered it at the end. Damn! Lmao🤣😂
Great video and I’m sure Blue (sp?) will enjoy them.
Haha yeah that box is pretty sweet! Yeah Melissa and Blue like them quite a but. Zamboni didn't mind either way.
@@AdventureEndeavor Zamboni is gorgeous! Young enough that stairs probably aren’t even necessary.
Yeah exactly, she flys right up any stairs.
Awesome, thank you for sharing. How does the door close when the steps are stowed for travel and is there a difference on how the door closes when the steps are down?
Hi Angel! No issues with the door closing when stowed because the metal tab that holds them in place provides plenty of clearance. However, when setting up at camp, you do have to adjust the feet so the steps sit low enough for the door to clear. It's a minor annoyance and in one spot we did have to dig the dirt down a little but we personally feel it's worth the trade off! Thanks for watching.
How high is the door off of the ground? I think that would be very important information. Mine is 36 Inches so I am not sure if I should go with the 3 or 4 steps. Mine at present has the same steps you do 3 plus the top.
I believe ours was 29 inches, when you order you'll need that info. There's a chart to figure that all out. Or you can always call.
@@AdventureEndeavor Thanks for your reply, I did look at the chart but I don't know if the 3 steps have a maximum reach of 36''. I will call Lippert and see what they recommend. At present my fifth wheel is level and it measures 36'' so I am not sure if the 3 steps will handle that on uneven ground, which is mostly what you will find in the New Mexico mountians.
Oh gotcha I THINK that they would but better to call and be safe.
What about dirt on the steps. It seems if you don’t clean them real good you are gonna dump in your trailer. I got the 22h and step is the only thing I don’t like.
That's a good point, the back of the steps are open so a lot of the dirt just falls out. We just give them a tap/smack when lifting and they are good to go. You could also brush excess dirt off with a broom. 🙂
So the one thing that seems to be a possible problem with those steps is that you bring in dirt, mud, snow and ice when you put them up. Any thoughts on that? And or solutions to that problem?
Yeah that seems to be a common question. When we lift them we just give them a small tap/smack and everything falls out the back of the step. We haven't noticed any extra dirt in the rig.
