William Henry Harrison: Hey, What Happened? (1841)

- William Henry Harrison, or good old Tippecanoe, had the shortest term of any president so far. That's because he died just one month into his term. Being the first president to die in office, it brought up the issue of what to do when that happens, and it was decided that the vice president should take over. But there are a couple other tidbits to discuss regarding Tippecanoe, so let's take a look.

It was 48 degrees the day of his inauguration and he didn't wear an overcoat, hat or gloves. His speech contained 8,445 words.
I did a report on William Henry Harrison in high school. He was probably the most qualified president in history.
How so? I'm sure there have been presidents with more political experience than he had. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious.
What if he would have been the best president ever if he had not died.

I think Thomas Jefferson was one of the most qualified. He was not only the Secretary of State, but the first Secretary of State. He was Vice President too, and a whole lot more

He didn't get a cold at his inguration that happened 3 weeks later so that's a myth

First time commenting on your videos but long time viewer in your chemistry, mathematics, some of the biology, and this series of the US Presidents.
As a fun fact, today (February 9, 2018) - which is the day after you uploaded this video and the first day that I watched this particular one - is William Henry Harrison's birthday (born Feb. 9, 1773).
He died on 4 April 1841, in Washington D.C., becoming the first president to die in office. He was buried In North Bend, Ohio.

@@ProfessorDaveExplains Late really but the first president to have his voice recorded was Benjamin Harrison (WHH's grandson).
You left out the best part. It turned out Tyler was a Whig in name only and proceeded to piss off all of Harrison's cabinet. He told them if they didn't like it, he would accept resignations. They kicked him out of the party by the end of his term.
