- Just a demonstration of the lower center line landing method. I think everyone knows the top line method where you put the kite in the down position, and I think also people know the double center line method, this is the "U" method with the single center lower line

Interesting, I've not seen this before. Looks like a good method to try. The last time I was out I pulled the chicken instead of messing around solo with the 8m in 35-45knts but this might have been a good option. Thanks for the video.

I did an unhooked drift launch and was flawless, didn't even consider an unhooked landing though. Looks awesome
in 40 knots I usually use the QR
Can you explain exactly what you're doing here? Do you completely detach the leash? Are you pulling just the one line or all four? It's a bit difficult to understand what's going on without narration. I'd love to learn more about how this works if you'd be willing to do another video where you narrate the steps, even just this video with a voiceover would be great. I appreciate the effort, though!

What happen if for some reason you have to let go of the line ?
kite goes downwind until it hits something and stops. Make sure there's nobody downwind of you when you do this. If there are, try an alternative landing method. Of course if you have a friend to land your kite that's always better.
@@bonerici What would not be safer for your kite and others if you keep the safety leash connected on the safety line - disconnect the Chicken Loop from your harness so that the kite looses all the tension and walk with your hands over the safety line(as you show) until you reach your kite, in case you have to let the safety line go for some reason, the kite is still connected on the safety line so you do not loose your kite but you can give another try to reach your kite with the same procedure?
If the safety loops around your foot or the spreader hook, it can be a problem. If there are people downwind of you, I would kite to a different landing location or find a kiter to land me, or even flag out in the water.
@@bonerici Yes, I agree, if there is no space on the beach the self landing should be done in the water.
