What command didi you use for placing the cursor to the object???
first select the face or vetex you want your 3D cursor to be at and [shift + s] , from the pie menu select, cursor to selected.

For product modelling, no tool can beat plasticity, the process which takes 30 min in polygon modelling, will be done on 10 minutes in plasticity with no hassle of boolean, mesh density and topology, over that, you will love the flexibility in bevelling, boolean and constraint surface to keep in same direction. Full feel like blender. All same shortcut G to move, R to rotate S to scale. Only one time payment and the software is yours. Best thing is there is a live update to blender. Stop wasting time in old polygon software if you dont want to do some sort of deformation animation. Arijan, you have audience so you should try and do a review video after dedicately learn and try in your project.
Yeah and then you will get fucked up topology after importing your model into blender or any other software. With such topology you won’t be able to sell this model on stocks. Also studios won’t hire you if you have bad topology on your models
@@geldyrebel i already mentioned for product modelling, not for any character animation which is a different industry altogether. even experienced artist are switching to plasticity and no one care about topology if you get the desired result. Even if you want topology cleanup then there are dozens of retopology tools that will do even better topology than doing modelling and retopo together. Also, for game optimization, you will get least numbers of polycount with plasticity, even there is total flexibility in mesh density as well. So you can export low poly and high poly altogether to bake desired maps for final render.
