I can guarantee, for a an absolute fact, that when i spend time "interacting" with my xbox, a much much higher amount of that time is going to be spent playing games.
The type of person who will yell from the heavens telling you how bad your xbox is probably doesnt value their time as much
I was a PC gamer for two decades but because of ridiculously increasing system requirements and unoptimised games these days I switched to a xbox series x. So far I'm having a blast since buying it. Also the gamepass ultimate is dirt cheap in our country and we get frequent xbox store discounts here so I'm saving a lot of money too.
I remember when I had a PC in the 90s and further on. Games evolved so fast within ten years you could not figure out when and what to upgrade. Switch to a new board? More RAM? New graphics card? Did the sound card need a replacement yet again? That was a nightmare. Times when game developers simply printed the minimum requirements and the max requirements in the back of the game boxes. And still you had to figure out how to get the game to even start. Because sometimes the game only after having it bought told you what sound card or what graphics card it wants. sometimes you had the required CPU and RAM power but the wrong processor. Instead of an AMD it asked for Intel Pentium. Even when all of them were either single core or double core at that time. The game demanded and you either changed your setup or returned the game. At the least you could do that. But still. Not being able to play so many games because you happened to have the wrong PC setup sucked. And things were just that random. You never knew. Around the early 2000s and onward things became less awkward. Games seem to run on almost all machines when you just hit the minimum requirements overall. But now shit from the past kicks back?
Im calling this now nvidia and amd sponsoring game titles will kill pc gaming
Mother fucker they’ve been doing it since the 2000’s where have you been?
Doubt it
Good call. Since the dawn of the early 2000s I saw how PC boards, graphics cards and video game developers were making things easier for all PC gamers no matter what your build was like. And now the opposite happens where graphic cards developers and game developers have again these mandatory contracts where specific games now demand very specific setups. That is pure bullshit but since this fake chip shortage from few years ago they jumped the shark on that and we here and now have to deal with it.
Oh, the irony of explaining gaming to a channel called The Game Explainers!
Endless hardware combinations: Different combinations has always been the case, and always will. This is an open platform. There are only two GPU, two CPU manufacturers using the same instruction sets, which wasn't the case back in the 90s. If they were able to optimize back then, they can certainly optimize now. They handle those sets differently, but I would hardly call this endless.
Bad PC ports: Bad ports isn't a PC specific problem. It's also not the fault of the platform.
Can it run Starfield: This point aged like fine milk in the past seven months with the release of the May 2024 patch. I doubt it will do wonders, but Bethesda acknowledged the problem is on their part. Again, not the platform's problem and it's the same point as "bad PC ports".
Can't Survive the Jedi: See above. Three badly optimized games means PC gaming is dead?
Pros of Consoles: You opening sentence is a disaster. "CPUs, GPUs, constant driver and OS updates, background processes". Updates can be handled automatically, background processes are a non-issue. These are clear indications this video was written from outside looking in. You don't know what you are talking about. "Click download button and play the game." How is that different from PC? What about cons of consoles? Or pros of PCs? Or real cons of PCs, and not the nonsense listed here?
Crunch & Piracy: How is crunch a PC specific problem? How is piracy a PC specific problem? Piracy is worse on PC, but it's not PC specific. It's also no worse than trading physical copies of console games.
I think you didn't talk about the most frustrating thing about PC gaming these days that will one day or another day make me completely ditch PC gaming. That is cheaters. Cheaters in PC games are just endless these days. In the old days, you had cheaters only in a limited amount or didn't have at all. Now it is all race between who has a better system and who has better response time in reaction or just cheating. It's frustrating to play multiplayer games on a PC. It's total clownfest.
I completely agree with you on this and I'm surprised not more people talk about this. It's actually why I gave up on playing videogames last year.
For a long time I could keep up with most people. But multiplayer on PC in recent years has become an obscene sweatfest. For a while I thought that maybe I was just getting to old for games. As games where I used to be alright at became pretty much unplayable for me overtime (the cheating in CSGO was just plain obvious though) but it didn't really matter which game I tried either.
In FPS games this was the most obvious to me but a bunch of genres seem to be impacted. Doesn't matter if it's a new game or an old one, a casual or known competitive game. Even a game as casual as Star Wars battlefront. I tried that game for the last time in 2022 and that game was super casual at launch. Now I was just being shot by people at the other end of the map (literally) and the only way to avoid being obliterated was by basically not spawning in at all.
It's basically impossible to have a relaxing online match on PC let alone having a decent competitve one. Maybe you have a decent match once in a blue moon, but overall it's just absolutely awful.
Recently I came across Darknet Diaries" podcast, episode 115, called: Player Cheater Developer Spy and listened through the whole thing which shines light on this issue and how wide it actually is.
@@TIAID-ct4ov I honestly think to reduce sweats in games and make it more fair against different pc specification, devs need to put some limitation to fps and screen refresh rate hz.Making it unlimited is bad for any low to medium end pc players because high end pc players always has highest fps and hz.Maybe devs should limit it 60 and 60 hz or 70-90 fps 90 hz for multiplayer games.Because there are even better monitors coming out like 360hz,even 540hz.So of course those will give people even more advantage in reaction time which will make games even more sweatfest.
I agree that games should be launched in better states but I like that I can play most games early and that I haven't paid full price for a game in ages
How 😀
which major releases come out on pc early? the reason you haven't paid full price for a game is because its already been out for a while (same on consoles, plenty of keys being sold). So either you pay full price to play the game when it launches or you wait and dont pay full price.
Always a comment spewing bollocks lmao
I was angry at the beginnings I like PC, but the point you explained really makes sense
Even I have been a PC gamer from the beginning
Having ditched my PS1 back in '01 for PCs, I never thought I'd reconsider transitioning to console (PS5) now. Unfortunately I fell out of mainstream PC gaming back when digital downloads were bread and butter in favour of straight to full version discs. Not to mention the insane amount of Video and RAM requirements to run most AAA titles now - easily 32GB total.
As a Hitman fan discovering they were releasing the game online in episodic format in 2016 after shifting gears from retail disc format, I thought here's a big 🖕 U.
The PC always will be the most superior platform in terms of performance and gameplay for the non casual serious gamers - esp mods which no doubt make a good game great.
This is the reason I'm still running Win 7 and XP to run most of my older games.
8:30 wellll not really lol as proven with the new games that came out recently , even on consoles they dont run that well ;) with devs blaming the consoles for poor performance
lets not lie to ourselves , the big problem is game companies releasing broken games for quick and easy money than working on fixing them after they got the money
Makes sense
100% but you know they’ll blame the platforms when in reality it’s the devs. People have a smooth brain.
Man. I actually would say the opposite. I feel its on the rise. All of my friends/family who game ive more or less switched over to pc. I did once i found out i can still use a controller on xbox
Finally, a sensible person
@@overdrivedrinker8284it is on the rise it’s been since 2008. This CZcamsr has no idea what he’s talking about. More than likely click bait. Pc has a bigger fanbase than all three consoles combined. I would never in a thousand years be strapped to one platform when everything comes to pc anyways. Especially ps exclusives that are over hyped.
@@Dark_Mutant you got nothing from the video.
@@medspecgaming1363 absolutely I did. Pc gaming isn’t dead. It’s on the rise.
@@Dark_Mutant wrong.
I love both
I’m planning to build a pc
It’s more practical for me because i can do more than gaming with a pc
Bro didnt cook
I don't PRE order or buy games just as they launch anymore.
Cuz I know it's going to be shit!
JUST RENT THEM!!!
y'all don't hear me tho.....
underrated video cause everything you said is correct
I dont think pc gaming is gonna go away anytime soon since it is here to stay which yes having to upgrade to new pc every year does get annoying because i actually would say you can build a pc to make it where you dont need to buy new one ever again since i hate to see how people is saying that pc gaming community is downsizing which if pc gaming is declared dead otherwise no one would be playing on pc gaming since it would been said so in the first place
Doesn't effect me as I only play AAA games years after they've come out so that they're in working order and way cheaper. Plus we have better controller support on PC and better selection of FPS games.
Nice hack
Yup. People act like there are no ganes if your not on the bleading edge. Honestly one could stop upgrading the specs of their gaming set up right now and they would have enought stuff to play for decades. Thats not including mods that by themselves make some games worth years of entertanment.
Man. Can you make PG3D Rise and Fall video? Please let's just a chance?
You mean Pixel Gun 3D?
@@TheGameExplainers yeah. Since Riftsoft was changed to Cubic Games in 2018 or 2019
FUN FACT: PC GAMING HAS ALWAYS SUCKED.
Yep, tbh I think it's idiotic to spend all this money on hardware that isn't really giving you a big leap over current gen systems. Also I hate PC elitists more than any other fanboy demographic
Or spending 4,000 just to be forced to trouble shoot, if your gonna go the pc route, just get a hybrid handheld and save yourself the hassle and bs, have one of the highest end builds you can get and regret it instantly @PhaseRebirth
@@PhaseRebirthlegit been troubleshooting for DAYS and can't get demanding games to run past 30 minutes (if that sadly)
What makes a better games apart from money name few ?
Even if we keep money aside, big publishers aren't able to deliver on good PC ports after having so many resources
A lot of times when a company puts too much money into a game they scared to change anything from the most basic formula cause they know it will still kinda sell
i have waited for this! great job
Sad that this video exclusively focused on performance
Our kotive was to focus on PC Ports
true
I don't see how any of this means that PC gaming is dying. Most of these issues aren't major issues 99% of the time and are more representative of problems with the AAA industry when it comes to optimization, not the PC platform. The amount of active users on Steam alone is more than both consoles combined, so PC is far from dead in that front. Not to mention the PC is a more open platform where you don't have to pay extra to play your own games online. Obviously, people can have their preferences towards consoles, and that's fine, but when you title your video like this, it's important to get your facts straight.
Both PC gaming and Console gaming have record profits now, xbox is the only exceptuon unfortubatelly.
when was that golden age of pc gaming? because i remember pc games like the original Unreal coming with a piece of paper saying "sorry if this game doesnt work on your pc, download this patch". Or the original Tomb Raider having tons of content cut from the PC version.
People pirate games cause most of the games are pretty expensive. Whay person earns money through a month can go to one game of it.
If the games were cheap like the 2000s days, then people could afford it
They are, especially with the current gen games that cost $70
dude, they aren't expensive. I would also say they should be more expensive.
I remember my mom buying me sonic 2 and it was around $45 if I remember right. Then I bought Mario 64 and that was around $50-$60
modern pc gaming sucks? you mean indie game?
No, AAA Ports
oh@@TheGameExplainers
The economics of developing for the PC means we are going to continue to get substandard 'AAA' releases for the foreseeable future - it's more profitable to have consoles as the base and port to PC for everything else. Now Larian has shown it can be done properly with PC development and the rest of the industry was left with a Pikachu expression.
It can be done properly when you are a kickstarter early-access project.
Nah Modern gaming is still good, this year has been awesome from hi Fi rush to FF16 BG3 Starfield and now ending with Spiderman 2 with Halo season 5 coming it's pretty insane
We are talking about PC Gaming 😅
Modern gaming is still good, no doubts
1) BECAUSE PC GAMING HAS ALWAYS BEEN DEAD THERE'S NOT A YEAR IN GAMING HISTORY IT'S BEEN SUPERIOR TO CONSOLES IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The libary is to die for tho. One could stop upgrading their pc rn amd have decades worth of good games even without including factors of moding and emukation.
@@piens51 LMFAO. YOU CAN BUY RETRO EMULATORS FOR $100. A GAMING PC IS WORTHLESS.
Yet PC game sales are at the all-time high, while console game sales are going down.
Exactly!
the video focuses on the experiences we face as a PC gamer, not the balance sheet of companies
You’re coping mad hard. Pc revenue makes way more than console will ever. There’s more people on pc than console. Proven facts. I know a ton of people that switched over. Console players are coping hard. I would never in a thousand years want to be strapped to one platform and be bottle capped.
Ok, so ur gonna ignore the facts in the video and bring ur focus towards sales?
Plus all you cheap ass PC players love pirating video games.
@@BluThing I didn’t say sales. I said pc is a more popular platform. I’m tired of you console warriors thinking pc gaming is dead when it’s not. How would you like it if I said ps is dead or Xbox is dead. It’s annoying right! We can’t just enjoy what we play? What happened to the early 2000’s when we were all united? It’s all divided anymore and it’s just sad. I have 0 issues with console gaming. I’m just tired of hearing it. Google console sales vs pc gaming. Pc gaming is more popular by 300 million and it’s growing so much more cause people are realizing why buy both consoles when I can get a decent pc for $1200. Also people are realizing how much better graphics are etc. it’s all facts.
@@Dark_Mutant “PC revenue”. Im pretty sure that is categorized sales, plus I never said PC gaming sucked, this video is highly flawed. What I’m tryna say is that which ever platform you use, you will be greeted with flaws
@@BluThing 100% accurate my friend!! Well said. See you’re a normal person. I don’t bash other platforms. We ALL have our preferences. At the end of the day we all have our preferences and the platform we love. That’s why cross play is a thing lol
i want run now bioshock on win 10 i buy game legaly this game on GOG it crashes does not start an many problem so dear billy go f ck Y i dont buy your operating system or peripheris any more n o compatibility with older games nothin just crashe win 10 refusing to start play games no thanks im done with pc. I dont spend no more money in it i have ps5 im with very happy i put cd in it and it work you play no problems dear microsoft by e bye dos
All the more reason to stick to console than having my games tied to an account as well as being part of a neglected community. I'll stay console peasant
Lmao at people saying consoles are weak, yet pc reqs are getting higher with every aaa game. Maybe its pc that's weak?
Devs are getting lazier with their performance optimization. That’s the reason.
Definitely isn’t weak. It’s been proven that graphics are better on a pc. A console is bottle capped. Owning both consoles is pointless. That’s a decent pc.
HERE'S WHY.... PC GAMING HASN'T BEEN RELEVANT SINCE 1995 AND HAS 0 GREAT EXCLUSIVES, GARBAGE ONLINE, AND IT'S USERBASE IS 99% POOR FOREIGNERS IN 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES.
HTH. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
0 great exclusives which is nice cuz we don't force you guys to buy a PC to play a game but no were still the bad guys. define garbage, most of the PB i play with is kind a generous to one another (i deal with cheaters like 1% of the time) but again the is subjective to me and me alone. and lastly have you even looked up the Userbase of pc? 212 million players are on PC in the US alone also 1.86 billion players are on PC so have fun on your console with your exclusives with your 30Fps that is $500.
on the other hand pls tell Sony to understand that most PC gamers wont buy a PS5 due to the fact that we have to BUY to play online even tho you have internet which is a huge slap to the monthly bill even if its $18 in the long run its still a lot of money I'd rather spend money on performance rather than a console which in my personal opinion makes me feel claustrophobic so to me if you perfer console go ahead im not going to stop you but i will at least tell you what you're signing up for. For PC i do agree that hardware is a bit pricy for high end gaming but thats if you want 144hz 4k graphics or you can spend $627 on a complete PC build that is just a little better than a console
you guys like to flock together so here i am trying to tell you guys what our side thinks........................We don't care about your consoles which is why we don't buy them

@weary_millennial-jw6oo I only use one launcher on PC, which is Steam. Even if you need another launcher for the odd Epic Store exclusives for instance, the other launchers are free. You don't need to buy a whole other platform to play those games. So, I'd hardly consider that an inconvenience.

Anyone here think pc gaming is superior to console gaming?
I enjoy both
It still is, thanks to mods, a vastly larger library, older games and emulators. PCs can also be used to make money (I am a 3D artist and photographer).
MAYBE IF YOU'RE AUTISTIC AND HATE GREAT GAMES.
PC ONLINE IS GARBAGE AND IT HAS 0 GREAT EXCLUSIVES.
HAVE FUN MODDING IN BATMAN TO GTAV, YOU'RE GOING TO BE PLAYING IT FOR ANOTHER DECADE. 🤡🌍
On paper PC is as it has superior hardware. However, the question should be "does it matter to you?" I have a pc that I use for a MMO or strategy games because I prefer mouse and keyboard in those scenarios. For everything else I like my large screen TV and console for. My preference is convenience over stressing about fps, graphic settings, and updates and multiple launchers. I agree with the empirical evidence and objective truth that pcs are superior, I still would rather just push the power button on my controller wile sitting on my comfy sectional and jump into a game. And before anyone says "you can hook your PC to a TV and it's the same thing.". I am aware of this and it isn't always seamless. Plus couch gaming is so much easier with consoles, which I do with my kiddos. So it really depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for the bleeding edge of capabilities? PC is it but you will pay through the nose. Do you want a wonderful experience that caters to comfort and doesn't require technical troubleshooting? A console may be what your looking for. The point is to go with what makes you happy, at the end of the day it's your money and you should invest in whatever platform you enjoy.
@@ryancaspersen5284 I am a pc gamer and I run a set up thats anything but bleading edge. Btw, PC gaming was on the rise at the and of the 90s already. Rise of compatibility. PC components worked better together independent of the manufacturer etc. But for few years now, namely4, after the fake chip shortage alarm things started to change for the worse again.
