One thing to watch out for with long distance travellers is that occasionally the owner may have pushed for the horse to run at a particular track either because they live locally to the track even if the horse is trained a distance away, or because the track has a really good owners hospitality package which they want to take advantage of, Ayr & Chester were favourites a couple of years ago when I was working in horse racing. If I adopt this strategy I will start looking for a pattern of a particular owners horses travelling to a course fairly regularly & be cautious of those.
“Value is backing an even shot @ 75% strike rate” that’s really useful Caan. Thanks
Just highlighting it for those that don’t understand value, Dylan. Believe it or not, you’re not the only person using CZcams ;)
Great info and insight, its you`re interpretation of things and willingness to inform that gives you an edge over others, keep up the good work.
Cheers buddy. I do try... different from the usual angles.
Another great tip learnt! Keep 'em coming. Thanks Caan
Another valuable and professional piece of work. Congrats.
Cheers mate! appreciate the feedback :) just encourages me to create more!
Really insightful. I'm learning more and more every day. Thanks fro the great info!
Glad it was helpful. Taking some time out to think about the logic of what we are doing is never a bad thing. Have a look about, do some research and check out the resources :)
Very insightful, thanks Caan I always come away from your vids feeling more positive about my trading approach.
Thanks! Glad they are useful
Top stuff Caan;)
I agree with the comment about 75% value ground conditions class rises and sizes of fields can be big influencers
Great Vid Caan... Keep them coming
We will!
the other week i layed a 110/1 winner, a 75 /1 winner on the horses and two double figure priced winners on the dogs, on the same afternoon...if id put them in a win acca id have bagged thousands upon thousands...almost impossible to bet big priced winners but when you lay them strange things happen...Stopped gambling a week ago after years of heartache and nightmares and so glad i did. Good luck to those that make it pay.
Confused, how did u win other day if you stopped gambling.
Top video Caan. on the money again buddy. Very useful info.
Thanks 👍
thanks bro... keep the videos coming
Loving the tips 🙌🏻
Nice. Thanks alot Caan
Great video , thank you :)
Always good to watch
if the bookmakers tell you to do something, then do the opposite.
Can't disagree with that ahha.
Point two is mind blowing, need to look into this. Thank you Caan
You should, my pleasure. Long-time follower, don't forget to publically sub to be in with the giveaways.
Another great video about trading and different methods than can be used to help with your trading process. The more angles you can cover the better you are armed.
Information is power and all that, Nige.
Thanks for the video !
Nice spreadsheet witn front runners there : )
It's a software tool - linked in the description.
Thanks for that info! Me and the mrs were only just talking about distance travelled to the races and their value and costs involved and we like the Value bets of 75% strike rate at evens we often go for horses like that. We haven't placed a bet since the lockdown began though so this is brilliant info on your channel for when we "go live" again.
How are you finding things now the racing is back on the calendar?
Good content and in-depth info!!
No drama, thanks.
Some good tips Caan thanks
I used your daily shortlist to place a small bet and managed to win👍
Race was over 2m and the price didn't immediately come in, but the horse was leading two or three lengths from the very beginning.
I was hovering my mouse to close the bet in case it goes against me, but it didn't!
Thanks!
The shortlist is just to highlight historic behaviour of those who have jumped off infront. Always do your due diligance if you're looking at it to run further. Just an informational resource really :)
Thank you Caan. I had a query regarding value in Horse racing market. Your betting strategy video and few ending points in this video resolved that query.
Excellent!
Great tips! would appreciate if you could demonstrate step-by-step of how to put that into real action.
Great advice I will be following 👍
Thanks for the training course, I wanted to understand horse betting and for some reason after watching your tutorial I profited on a few races 😅
Excellent video thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge with us, I have learned a lot from reading your blogs and watching your videos and buying your book! Keep up the good work I highly recommend others to buy his book
Haha thanks for the generous comments. It's great to read.
longest distance ! fair point , its a great help that you post the front runners they usefull , thanks
No problem 👍
Thank you for the insight bro
More good stuff. On a side note took your advice and watched moneyball. Cracking film cheers for the tip....
Really enjoyed that one myself. No drama.
Thanks for the info
Thank you for the reminder of the front runners on your site!
Any time! They get updated daily usually between 10am and 11am.
Great videos as I am new to the betting way of making some money your tips are great and informative great to see a person who likes to share content and not force to buy a program or something
Still need to get my head around geektoy but will keep trying
Another video with good content, keep up the good work 👍
Cheers, don't forget to sub!
I have been subscribed from day dot mate 👍
Interesting video Caan.
I keep a close eye on certain trainers sending one or two horses to courses over 150 miles away.
Checking its a steamer on betfair certainly comfirms my selections.
That's a long old way, time and faff involved there with that.... why would someone do that for just one selection, you have to ask these logical questions! And then find confirming signals.
Great tips brother
Where do you find the real time graphs like the one shown in the video that depict the real money vs. market moves Pre race on a given steed?
Keep up the good work mate 👍
Thanks, will do!
Top bloke great content 👍 subscribed
Great to hear it!
Some good points Caan, as I am mostly a punter as opposed to a trader I would say in handicap races I look for the horses highest winning OR and what the OR rating is today, for instance there was a horse that had a high rating of 80 last night it went off 70 at 10/1 , won by a couple of lengths, the two favs had the opposite OR and were running off a much higher mark than they had previously won, theres all kinds of strategies you can use with this information, personally I like to lay dutch an accumulator , of course you need excel spreadsheets for this but there are many ways to skin a cat.Ive tried trading pre race with this info but alas not all traders have this information, the problem with pre race trading for people like me is I have too much of an opinion of were the price should be and continue to back or lay when its moving in the wrong direction so in many ways cold trading and having hardly an knowledge of racing puts you at an advantage for sure.
Sure, that’s why handicappers don’t have an advantage in trading usually. The only problem with following the OR etc is that it’s usually factored into the price, less commission or bookies margin.
Great video, like to learn more, will watch other videos
Cool, don't forget to publically sub to be in with a chance of winning.
Very informative
Morning Caan, loving the lay the horse in race strategy...only done 4 but yet to have a looser...however I look for value atm night before( gives me time to read up and shop around) and frankly exploit bookies for a bet( when I suspect their odds are overpriced) as the liquidity is not there on Betfair. I leave them to run, even though on the day they go down in price so I could lock in a profit (I do look out for R4's not to get caught out), question is...what is the rating at which I should just lay before the race? Already have one at 140%, some money have been matched at 160% so when would you cut this off pre-race
Great video very helpful especially the dummy moves the bookmakers are doing on horses and dogs all day long
There are so many of them. I often see commentators saying "ohhh its a steamer someones behind this" or words to that effect. However, when you look at the exchange, it was never supported.
@@CaanBerryProTrader so why are they saying it? Are they lying/manipulating?
Good stuff 👌🏽
Appreciate it
Hi Caan. I have your video course and have found it very useful from pre-race trading.
But what sites/resources do you use to identify trends during daily prep in the mornings? Racing post? Also, the data you show at @2:04, where is this from?
The market holds the most info (traded volumes etc). The software you ask is here: caanberry.com/irtt
Caan Berry Pro Trader thanks Caan. Keep up the good content! Thanks for the education!!!
Good points I also look for unusual combinations seems to return alright
Fair point. So long as they are linked with real market activity and volumes.
I find it very helpfull
Just joined, and very interested in your explanation, am subscripting to your videos now
Some great ideas in here... Especially on long distance horses...
Just logical when you think about it. Many overlook it in the first place though :) glad it gave you an angle to consider.
Hey cann on point 2 you said the tip of the price being priced being pushed out, would that mean when the price gets bigger rather than shorter?
Not heard the term 'gambling yard' before, going to do some research. Cheers for the info boss 👍
Really? See this: caanberry.com/horse-racing-connections-that-gamble/
Good Video
I finished a trial of the in running tool the other day. I thought it was great but couldn't get any support on some questions I had about specific areas of the tool i was unclear about.
Sure will let them know. Think they had been moving offices when I last spoke to them.
Love the longest traveller especially more so in the current climate.
Hadn't really considered the current global issue but yes that probably adds more to it.
Like the video. Neo.
Easier said than done to find that 75% strike rate at evens price though innit Caan Man. Thanks for the video.
I’ve been doing some inplay horses recently. Do you think it will get more competitive once more people can attend the track? What do these tracksiders do? On the phone to someone sitting in front of some software?
I’m sure some still do :). Tracks rent boxes overlooking the finish for this purpose in some cases... as I’m led to believe. In play nags is harder now delays are getting worse
Didnt think it was me! I must try harder to be interesting lol!
Does genuine money pretty much always arrive 5 mins to post or is this something i'm reading incorrectly? I know you mention inside knowledge bringing certain runner prices down but when do you know they have put money into the market?
Yes, generally speaking.
Im saving to buy your courses
Value, value & value
Can do you have another link for the in running software?
Whenever I click on caanberry link I just get two blue dots moving around but nothing more.
Cheers
Apologies for the crappy spell checker.

Hello
Caan,
I always follow you with great interest from Italy. Even if "we are good" in cooking, we don't have the possibility to make exchange bets on horses because betfair.it doesn't allow it. So for the moment I'm happy to see your every new publication on youtube. Best regards from warm Italy
Thanks for the kind words. I imagine its very frustrating if you live in a country where the govt has stopped exchanges. Maybe a VPN is used by others, although not necessarily recommended :)
@@CaanBerryProTrader whenever I go to a nation that doesn’t allow me to use the app to place bets, I find that the website still allows me to. Maybe this could help.
interesting tips🙂
Educative
Ok im im from ireland can somebody tell me a horse racing app that i can use please i really need to know
Hi Caan... I’m familiar with multiple strategies, pre live + in play. If I dedicated my efforts to one I’d likely strike a long term profit. However I’m too easily distracted by the multiple opportunities every race provides. This reduces my research and concentration leading to errors, hasty moves and red screens.
Do you have any advice to get me to effectively ‘sit on my hands’ and only focus my efforts in one place?
Yes, sit on yoru hands. Haha. I think cutting out temptation and distractions has to be the most powerful thing to avoid doing the wrong thing? Hope you and your dad are good.
@@CaanBerryProTrader very good thanks. He has come back to the UK full time now, cant wait to get stuck into trading properly without having to do it at 3am Australian time :)
Hope you're well... Lets have a beer sometime!
Cann thanks for the video!
Is that In Running Trading Toll still up nowadays?
As their page looks a bit outdated. Don't want to waste £79 quid for nothing.
Thanks in advance
Ye its still going.
Lay lowest no in every race bet in the day end you win huge
I have never before considered checking how far horse travelled to racecourse. Surely this can be linked to gambles and add some extra bit to your edge as it was mentioned by yourself. Many thanks for pointing this out!
It's interesting to see how your channel is growing and some types of videos have got bigger audience than other. Adding footie to your list was a good decision but I hope horses will remain main focus. Just sentiment driven as our markets are ;)
You’re right! It’s logical on the travellers... why spend all that money and punt it if there is no chance?!
Caan, what are you’re thoughts when a quality jockey only has one ride on the day? In other words has travelled just for one specific ride. I always look out for that....
I guess that could be some kind of pointer but wouldn’t be certain they are in on a gamble
Good video Caan - Have you done a video on pricing up a horse race to find value?
You mean creating a tissue in advance? Not something I'm into myself. So many variables involved it'd be easy to be wrong... not to mention how time consuming it would be effectively.
@@CaanBerryProTrader I've tried in the past and found it very time consuming and got fed up.... I guess people can automate it these days if they have access to data...
You certainly do give away a lot of edges for free these days! Generous of ya mate
Not the best ones! Only a few hints here anyway :) Hope you're good bud.
Made £2.59 profit on Michele's Beef Stroganoff today from the shortlist 6.8 sp to 5.4 ip. Thanks for the videos and shortlists!
its not stroganff!!!!!!!!!..............its Michele Strogoff .........a novel by Jules Verne........
Haha good old Michele stroganoff never fails to front run
Good
very interesting , Do you recommend accumulators?
No. Bookies have an edge on each runner. By adding more horses you are increasing that edge.
Just went to the Sky Sports page for the Longest travellers and they had the times wrong for some horses and some horses on the list weren't even declared as running today, and some are doubled up as running in 2 different races.
There are lots of other options too, sportinglife or any of the bigger sites usually. Timeforms useful too.
Good vid as usual. It would be of "value" to show the viewer a trading video example of "getting value ". How do you get 6/4 for an even money shot ? It would be rare ( never ? ) that a 2.00 price at bookies is 2.50 @ betfair as bookies tend to follow bf on favs very quickly and not the othr way around. A more tricky example would be outsiders. How do we know if a horse should be 10/1 or 14/1 ? Value is a mythical number and difficult to quantify imo.
Back stables in form .. TA DAA!!
hi caan your absolutely right .....price and value are the bedrocks of successful punting ....however for punters like me who used make a good living from daily bookmaker "ricks" on course , by simply knowing more about the horses than the average bookie(not hard)...betfair has been disaster because the correct price is now displayed to all and sundry .......as betfair prices....the only avenues i have now are "bad each way"races trolling round the shops having tenners each way, and point to point .........where there is no betfair market so "form " knowledge counts for plenty in the war against bookie and more importantly other punters.......
How did the ricks work? intreagued... love to hear, especially if the opportunity has since passed and its okay to share!
@@CaanBerryProTrader bookies upto the start of betfair and for a truly golden period afterwards were completely oblivious to the true chances of runners and pretty well priced up from the sporting life forecast in the paper a quarter of a hour before the race,.... Plenty of value to be had then.......... Early prices spoiled that party but it was good while it lasted......
Horse racing is a very hard game for betting. But if you know what you are doing you can become rich
Hi caan i tried to place a £ 27.88 bet in my local high st bookies on a horse. I was refused after a lengthy phone call. As i was leaving the spotty oik behind the counter called me a DIRTY ARBOR!!! What should i do about this?
Go to a different shop? Share the videos on this channel that exposes such behaviour? :)
@@CaanBerryProTrader 😂😎
1:30 Whats the difference between surface and track?
👏🏻
the longest travellers dont profit its that simple, i have tested this with trainers most travelled and with one runner, was crap
A man's gotta make at least one bet a day, else he could be walking around lucky and never know it
Price is everything you will never get ahead of your not getting value
Price is what you pay, value is what you get.
Why lie, I'm only posting for a chance to win the cash! :-D
Just kidding...... good content and information about good quality data for Back to Lay. I can trade the pre-race markets, but never was enthusiastic about Horse Racing In-play, mainly because I can't read a horse race to save my life. So I'm tempted give the Back to lay, lay to back strategies ago, once I've checked out the In Running Tool.
Caan, would you be doing any videos about Basketball, NFL, Ice Hockey. Aussie Rules or Rugby Union/League trading?
I admire honesty... your public subscription isnt showing though so I wouldnt have known you are sub'd!
@@CaanBerryProTrader Strange, I've been subbed for about 3-4 months now.
I'll unsub and resub, to see if that makes a diff. Also, I've changed my nickname, in case Google was censoring it.
Breeding Galileos like soft Darshaan like firm
Caan, love the videos. I've mostly been having a go at trading with small stakes ($2) I've been following Betfair odds closely for a while and think I've found a decent edge in one fairly commonly occuring instance. How should I got about calculating that edge? Should I trade it "blindly" until I figure out exactly when the best value is?
Also my other issue exiting a profitable trade. I have a tendancy to panic if I'm in "green" but I see it bounce a few ticks against me. If I lay a horse at 4.00 and it hits 5.00 and it looks like it'll keep drifting. But then somebody put its a small spike into 4.60 I'll panic and cash out, only to see I was correct all along and it goes out beyond 6.00 but now I have nothing but my (relatively tiny) 3 tick profit. What are the best methods you've found for closing trades if they turn against you? How long should you keep faith in what you've assessed against cashing out even if you do go negative for a minute?
The panic you describe is a common theme amongst newbies. It's something I suffered myself many moons ago! The easiest way to address this issue is to look at the long-term outcomes of your trading activity. When you look at things in the long-term you are less likely to react to a short-term reaction or result. I don't have faith in the trade i just constantly re-assess if the situation has changed or not :) check out this upload to see a bit of my own trading: czcams.com/video/oVzteZ-EfBw/video.html
@@CaanBerryProTrader My strategy that I'm starting to have success for this is breaking my get out into smaller stakes. Yes its slightly lowering my profit but I've found I feel a lot more comfortable psychologically and therefore make better decisions. With more experience I'm hoping I'll trust myself more, but as someone still learning and understanding I'll make mistakes I'm content with slightly reducing my upside to avoid wiping out my (admittedly meager) account making a irrational panicked decision.
Been betting 50p with 3 way enabled (£1) made £27 in an hour. Not too bad
I found an easier way and there is no human or animal involved. SA Racing not the same as it used to be. I would know because I used to be part of those behind the scenes.... pulling strings and what not. Anyway thanks for you info - useful I'm sure.
What courses are best for front runners and why
They don't just send front-runners to certain courses?
Back the lightest horse in the gn always comes in top five
Surely if the value isn't there and a horse is priced up at 2 to 1 when you think it should be a 7 to 2 shot ........a lay to back bet would make sense ???
Sure but just thinking is subjective. That's the main problem.... data, facts, metrics is the way forward.
