id definitely add Just Cause 3. amazingly fun action game
Hard disagree there, JC3 is basically the game that people think about when you mention Just Cause. Plus it has a very positive review on Steam with over 90k reviews. I definitely wouldn't call that an "underappreciated game".
Just Cause 4 is much more underappreciated than 3.

I played Mafia a while ago and i fell in love with everything. From the graphics all the way down to its 1920's style soundtrack

Days Gone on PC in 2024 is a literal GEM. 💎
Some of the best graphics I’ve seen in a while and the gameplay becomes addictive after like 5 hrs. I’m telling you, once you get in a rhythm, this is one of those few games that you can dump HOURS into without noticing.

I second this. I went in with an open mind because of the mixed reviews on PS4 but this game shines on PC and quickly became one of my all time favourites.
I remember 8-BitRyan's series on it. Really enjyoed it.

Dmc devil may cry is amazing. Great combat, quite engaging story imo, different but charming characters. Solid 8/10 game

I adored DmC, it was probably the first action game I absolutely loved. Played through it a good 5-6 times and my backlog is huge so I rarely do that now days.
Wasn't the best story game, but the gameplay was fun, and had an interesting idea.
I did enjoyed it a lot back in the day.

Always nice to see DmC get some appreciation. I've played all the Devil May Cry titles, and I'd put that one as my favorite. The whole concept of Limbo was really cool and let the designers create some really fun stages. The combat was also really fun.
Soulstice from 2022 had gameplay inspirations from DmC, as well as DMC5 and Bayonetta. Tone is more like Darksiders. Has some rough spots but can fondly recommend it.
I played mafia definitive edition just over a year ago when it was free with PlayStation plus and I was absolutely blown away by how much I enjoyed it. It felt extremely fresh being a linear game after all of the bloated open world games and the story and overall atmosphere is phenomenal
The fact that I’m in the middle of playing Evil west and was scrolling through CZcams and this video popped up. It’s a fun game

Glad to see Evil Within getting love! I played the first one on release. Bought the second one, but it went into to my backlog. Just recently played it and its a shame we wont see the third one

Evil west is everything ppl fell in love with in the old days. Just pure fun. No bloated open world, no 300 hour long game. Just blood, guts, and vibes.
The way DmC:DMC got treated by the fanbase is an absolute tragedy, it's such a great game and easily my favourite in the franchise.
Immortals of Aveum, Days Gone, Cult of the lamb, Callisto Protocol, Chorus, lost in random, the first Watch Dogs, and Ghost Wire Tokyo. Those are some I think are underrated.

Just played Immortals of Aveum.
I tend to play these games when they are nearly free so my expectations are typically easily surpassed
Garden Warfare 2 has one of my favourite monetization/progression systems of any game, and a great implementation of loot boxes.
I'd add Binary Domain, Full Spectrum Warrior, Astral Chain and Spec Ops: The Line to this list.

I still play both pvzgw games and they are literally some of the best games ever created. Plus trials of gnomus is truly an amazing update.
Always good to see people praising DMC Devil May Cry. An excellent game with fun combat and clever social commentary. Particularly good with the higher FR on the re-release.

I clocked in 250+ hours in PvZ Garden Warfare 2, got it the day it released and still love it
Garden warfare 2 is genuinely one of the best shooters ever made. It fixes all the problems with many shooters
Top shooters for me are
1. Garden Warfare 2
2. WW1 Isonzo
3. Halo ( cant really pick one specifically)
4. Republic Commando

The Evil Within series and espescially 2 deserves soooo much more fanfare and praise. Always recommended by me. That latter half/ 25 percent is no bueno imo. But the first 70 percent is amazing
Hey, this is a really great list. Just one thing is you ask a lot of rhetorical questions like: "is this the best beatemup? Probably not" and the amount of these questions is sometimes a bit distracting. Otherwise great video i'm definitely going to give the evil within games a go.
Hot: I like that RE3 is in the thumbnail but not the actual video lmao. That game does rule though and is super underrated

i would say Jade Empire from Bioware is alittle forgotten or underappreciated, but its a very good game i recommend!

A game not to many know about is a jrpg called record of agarest war. It originally came out on xbox 360 and ps3 and ive spent 100 if hours in top 5 game for me for sure
It is definitely a grind fest. For rpg veterans, it’s fine but new people will get turned off it
I loved Fenyx Rising! I wish more people played it so we could get a sequel.
Three modern games that I feel are extremely underappreciated are Neon White, The Pathless and Hi-Fi Rush. All three of these games are very unique and incredibly fun experiences. In fact, Hi Fi Rush was so underappreciated that the Microsoft fired the studio (Tango Gameworks) that developed the game.
Bombrush cyberfunk deserved more love. It is so fun and I think they did it better than jetset radio!
I would put Days Gone here. The game has flaws but it's still worth your time
Days gone was really amazing. Very underrated. Evil within 2 and Mafia were amazing as well.

I actually enjoyed the evil within much more than re2 remake. Evil within is much scarier and with good boss fight. Resident evil 2 had like what 1 boss which was also kind of lame compared to the sadist, keeper or laura
Ive played a lot of these or know they would be my type of game. Your right on with battletoads, evil west and dmc. Its unfortunate because they get panned and then we dont get a sequel

The Evil Within 2 may be the most underrated/played game of all time.
Also since coming to steam in 2022 garden warfare 2 sprang back to life on pc its very active now
back in the day i kept noticing the hate DmC:devil may cry was getting that i cancelled purchasing the game and when i played it last year OH BOY I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE

23:50 i was playing this game the other day, most of it is mad mediocre, the story was so ass to me. but it's fun, and the combat is actually decent, so i was enjoying it. i didn't finish it yet cuz i stuck on iron giant boss (probably) towards the end which was driving me insane lmao. that shit is actually difficult, and I've played more complicated soulslikes before
Desperados 3 should definitely be on this list. Such a great game but no one ever talks about it!
Immortals Fenyx Rising is such a fun, gorgeous game. I found it completely by accident, and i couldn't believe i've never heard of it coming out, nor did i see anyone mention it at the time.
The only thing that i didn't like was that each collectible was tagged on map (i mean you can avoid doing it, but it's kinda hard not to, when it's one of the mechanics). It kinda forces you to go to certain places, instead of finding them on your own. That's one thing i liked in BoTW a lot more, as it gives a bigger sense of accomplishment when exploring. Other than that, the game is pure fun to play, with exception of few frustrating Vaults.

Ghost recon breakpoint and Ghost recon wildlands highly recommend and they are free on gamepass , you can play it alone but it's way more fun with your friends we played yesterday after work I said OK I'm down for 2 or 3 missions before I knew it it was 3am lol awesome either of them and EA wrc I'm enjoying that too .
Honestly DmC was so good for me that it made me lost interest to the original, still wanting a sequel. And too bad Ninja Theory made DmC comment as spam, hate them for that.
I don't think The Evil Within 2 was underappreciated. It was met with a more than fair reception with it being the talk of the town within the horror game community there for awhile. We even got a few memes out of it. I'm not sure what your research methods are, but I think the reception for The Evil Within 2 was downplayed heavily for your narrative.

Fenyx Rising is a great game and I got it on Playstation and Switch. I also like Watch Dogs Legion, fun games. AC games from Origins onward sucked, until now with Mirage which is much better.

Immortal phoenix rising is one of those games I enjoyed ALOT during the first half but I just couldn’t finish it. During one of the last dungeons I just got tired of the gameplay.

I hate Mafia definitive edition lol Mafia 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and granted there's not that much to do in it as opposed to like GTA and Mafia too. You can really help your immersion by picking out different clothes and they will all show up in the cutscenes along with your car. You can also rob stores and go find bars to drink at even as a story missions only type of game. This helps so much Mafia one is so bad you don't even get actual money. It's so hard to immerse in a world where you're like already a made man like an hour into the game
Immortals Phoenix Rising was alright - writing was bad though as was the voice acting. Couldn't get through it
Some games I recommend Forspoken, Gotham knights, sucide squad kills the justice league, rise of the ronin, Stellar blade just to name a few.
There is a big difference between the quality of the last 2 games you mentioned and the others, tbh
