Follow MprooV on Twitter / mproovapp #agadmator Levon Aronian and Teimour Radjabov are in shared first place after two rounds at the FIDE World Chess Candidates' Tournament in London. Aronian won against Boris Gelfand, who blundered material. Radjabov outplayed Vassily Ivanchuk, who eventually lost on time in what should be a lost position. Magnus Carlsen got no opening advantage against Vladimir Kramnik and the two quickly drew. Alexander Grischuk and Peter Svidler also split the point, but not before both players had had an advantage in the game.

Finally the clash of the 2 of my favourite players! (Despite being the underdogs) I personally find their playstyle very eccentric and very similar to mine... It's unlucky that Ivanchuk had to lose on time... I'd want to see the match till the end! I also found the pawn to g4 move although I haven't really looked into the possibilities after that (I didn't pause the video lol), only that after that move, white is forced to do a move out of the ordinary (means that white have to foresee some of the varieties of moves after black played g4)... Came for these two players, didn't disappoint! 🤧🙈🍻

This was one of very very few times I solved the puzzle. But I was only able to solve it because the answer to many of these puzzles is often “push this seemingly unimportant pawn,” and in that position there was only one pawn black could move. I’m a better agadmator watcher than chess player.

Hey agadmator, got a challenge for you, but you'd have probably heard it before. The question is: place 5 queens on a chess board such that they cover all the squares.
This was asked by an interviewer where I had applied for job and he gave me 30 minutes to do it, the catch being, if I didn't get the answer, I'd not get the job and if I got it right, they wouldn't be a 2nd round of interview for me. All for mentioning that I play chess in my resume hobbies section 😂😂😂

I mean you could probably give most losing players more time and they could find a way to draw, but that doesnt mean much.

why would he play Rook to G7 when knight to G5 is played. He could place rook to anywhere. Was this a forced variation?

Being a d4 player, I cringe every time I see the Leningrad Dutch. Didn't Chucky lose 4 or 5 games on time in this tournament? Sad when that happens to such a creative player!

Who is it who says "Hello everybod" with the H pronounced like a Spanish "J" ? Note that's "bod" not "body". We need Antonio to say "Jelo Everybod" for fun and laughs.
