  • The best way to create a neck roll or a towel roll for neck support. Use this neck roll to get used to your neck pillow. A good neck pillow will work better but if you are used to sleeping with no pillow or are in neck pain and waiting to get your neck pillow then use a towel roll for the neck first. #necksupport #neckpainrelief #neckpain #sleepbetter #howtomakeabetterpillow #pillowsupport

    My chiropractor recommended this years ago and it helped my neck immensely.

    Been doing the rolled towel for decades before any doctor mentioned it to me. I had a small bone shaped pillow that I wore out and that's when I switched to a towel. It's easier to keep clean and fresh.I sleep so good with it. Many of the neck rolls made today are too big and knock your neck out of whack.

    The towel roll seems to work for most! There are so many pillows on the market...the only thing I can say is: try different ones... I myself don't really like most memory foams, the Arc4life Traction Pillow is Fiber.

    The best head position for me is when I support the back of the head, not the neck, with my fingers. The fingers are actually all above the hairline. Is it ok to sleep all night with this towel behind the ears?

    How are you supposed to lay on it with your neck? And how long?

    How do you know if your neck roll is of the proper thickness. Also, is it correct to place it slightly below the occiput bones?

      I also want to know how to know what the proper width should be beneath the neck. I made one, and it seemed thick enough, but too wide. At any rate, I ended up with a back ache.

    • @Arc4life
      @Arc4life  Před 7 lety +1

      If your pillow is too thick, it will push your neck forward. It will tilt your head forward or PUSH you forward - that is not what you want. You want to accentuate the natural neck curve, NOT Cause forward head carriage.

      Start with using a hand towel, then it won't be too big.

    Wow, only a towel for neck pain? and people spend thousands on chiropractors...

    • @Arc4life
      @Arc4life  Před 7 lety

      Nothing beats going to the Chiropractor - they can help you with neck misalignments and much more. Building your towel roll is great beginning tool for neck support, especially when you are experiencing neck pain and cannot find comfort. If you are starting to use a cervical support pillow, this is a also a good way to start to get your head and neck used to sleeping in this position.

      This is just one treatment to help with neck pain. By no means are we suggesting that you stop going to the chiropractor. LOL.
