Still think District 9, Elysium, and Chappie are in the same universe.

This movie was such a surprise to me, I was expecting a trash flick with some rappers carrying the sales but honestly Yolandi and Ninja are really good actors and I enjoyed every second of the movie. Very underrated.

Good actors but terrible people

They aren’t good actors, they just played themselves. They’re both shitty people.

I live in South Africa, north of Johannesburg and I can attest that all these events are real.
same here bro i was brought up in Johannesburg this movie is fire its not real though lol
It must be frightening living there and what you go through here in Australia we do not get to see the REAL world so sad for you xx
so sad for you to live like that in Australia we dont get to see what goes on in the world stay safe xx
Damn y’all got District 9 aliens there too?
The movie itself isn’t real but something like this could potentially happen in real life.
Chappie would’ve had 2 sequels if it made more money in the box office, unfortunately they were scrapped
Crushed even!
Probably for the best
This Movie success was forbidden.
I remember seeing the trailers as a teen and thinking “wow that looks lame,” but now I realize I was wrong. It’s a shame, they could’ve advertised it so much better.
It was so God damn satisfying to watch Vincent against ass kicks and it's kind of sad how he's supposed to be one of the good guys you know being an ex-soldier and wanted to protect everybody but he's the one who caused the most destruction out of everyone else even the gangsters didn't cause as much destruction as he did
So Johannesburg has to worry about the 8 feet tall prawn like alien refugees and artificially intelligent SWAT team units?
Johannesburg needs a break like dang.
Lol fr
Same director lol
HA! That's nothing! Imagine giant irradiated lizards fighting giant bugs & three-headed space dragons every week!
not just Johannesburg, u should c the ghetto of cape town

Chappie and Distrct 9 are easily 2 of the best movies I have ever watched coming out of South Africa. If you get the chance you should definitely watch!
District 9 is a classic for me. Its not very old but its very original in a movie setting. Nothing quite like that documentary style with that tone and story.
If anybody gets a chance to watch this movie, DO IT. It was so good. I shed some tears watching
Really loved this movie. Not the best, but you can tell the people who made it put their heart and soul into it. Hopefully this video gets it some more attention, cuz it seriously deserves it!

It’s an amazing movie. I wouldn’t say it’s groundbreaking by any means, but the storytelling made me shed a tear and really offers an open ended question on the concept of consciousness and the future of AI. For a band, Die Antwoorten’s acting chops were pretty good, especially how caring Yolandi’s character was with Chappie. I doubt there’s gonna be a sequel or spin off, which is a shame, since I’d really like to see not Deon and Chappie finding bot Yolandi and reuniting with the grieving Ninja.
Totally brilliant movie , just pure genius, in story telling art form acting, everything
This guy is silly if if he thinks he invented intelligent human like AI but he is JUST NOW googling early childhood development
This is one of those movies where it went under the radar but is a masterpiece imo. Sadly for that same reason it's been confirmed several years back there will be no sequel. Easily one of my top movies alongside interstellar, apacolypto, master and commander: far side of the world, avatar, papillon.
Edit: can't believe I forgot about district 9.
I remember watching this movie. Watched once and still haven't forgotten it. I wish they would make a sequel to continue off the ending..
No idea how it happens but i find myself mesmerized by someone narrating a movie I've seen already. I love this channel

THIS IS SHORT CIRCUIT 4 THE 21 CENTURY... IT'S HAD IT ALL... ACTION, COMEDY, DRAMA, SCI-FI. WHICH IS SO 😎😎😎.
Okay so I might be the odd one out here but I really feel like they messed up some things about this movie and I feel like they could have turned it into something amazing..
I loved the concept, and especially on the end when the creator dude transfers his conscience into a robot, i feel like they did an amazing job of showing what that'd be like. And the idea of chappie was great but the whole being raised by die antwood thing was tacky..
But what ruined it for me was the whole 'government is after this robot cause its new technology therefor we must destroy it or take it for ourselves' I feel like it was a forced antagonist and the whole evil government cliche is so overused.
I understand that a movie needs antagonists, i certainly don't have any better ideas, but I hated this movie because of it, that and the fact die antwood, they are hilariously bad thugs.
I think I dislike it so much because I was in love with the technology side of the movies concepts, and i was expecting something more advanced and I feel like instead of being something that potentially could have been unique and one of a kind, it was reduced to a run-of-the-mill movie plot that was frankly just garbage..
No hate to any of you for loving the movie. It's been so long since I've seen it, i dont remember it super well anymore so I can't debate it any more, I just remember being really upset.
Yolandi is best girl :') Hope there will be another movie of this
_[I've watched the actual movie a few many times-]_
[Btw I'm sure it's pronounced Yo-Land-dee not Yo-land-di They say it like *''Land''* like an Island *but* it's pronounced Land like *lending* a hand, And try saying ''yo'' like Gangster's would say ''What's up yO'' So it's like yO-Lend-dee (Lol idk anymore) That's how Yolandi's name is pronounced in my opinion]
