- Sit back and relax as we venture on an unforgettable journey with the 609.76, a restored steam locomotive for the Bulgarian Rhodope narrow gauge railway - one of the most scenic railroads in Europe, covering 125 km of track and running regular trains every day. Our train today though is unusual - for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the line the Bulgarian State Railways operate three special trains, hauled by the fully restored steam loco. I hope you will enjoy this trip.

Beautiful steam train! Beautiful scenery! Great Journey! It reminds me of my boyhood in East Africa. In 1950s & 1960s I used to travel in such trains on Narrow Guage lines, enjoying nice scenery & wildlife. Sweet Memories! NOSTALGIA!

The Septemvri-Dobrinishte route narrow-gauge line as follows the river Mesta until it reaches the Razlog Valley, at the foot of the Pirin Mountain, where it stops at Bansko and finally arrives at its final station Dobrinishte. The major stations through which the train passes are the following: Septemvri - Varara - Dolene - Kostandovo - Velingrad - Tsvetino - Avramovo (This is where the highest railway station on the Balkan Peninsula lies - Station Avramovo, at 1267 m above sea level.) - Yurukovo - Belitsa - Razlog - Bansko - Dobrinishte.
