Why did he disgusting old men think that they're going to go to the Philippines and take advantage of a young poor Filipino girl? All of you including you Paul 🤣. Did you meet baby May on a street corner? ✌️
100% right! It’s tough when you get older to except that you just can’t do that anymore. No more wheelies or jumping bikes, for me. At 63 I just don’t have the balance for it. It also hurts more the older you get.😁
Orville is a fantastic man following a new adventure. He could have stayed safe and sound in America and been generally ignored and uncared for by most people. He could have sat on his couch and watched TV going brain dead. Not Orville, he's a hot blooded man going for the gusto. He proves its not too late to change your life and look elsewhere for happiness. I really admire him!
Okay, so as a doctor here's the problem. At 84, the body's battery has basically run out of juice. A fall that will have you jumping up and brushing it off at 30, rubbing your bruises and achy the next day at 50, will put you in the grave at 80. The main killer in old age is a fall. Why a fall? Because the body doesn't heal well in old age, the bones are more brittle, and what may seem like a little knock to the head can bring on dementia. He needs to ease up on taking risks and just enjoy a simpler lifestyle ..... Forget the motor bike, dress casual smart, be the gracious old gentleman around town with his taxi rides and lunch out ..... He'll get some female attention too that way!
Absolutely as he is in NO hurry and even a car may be dangerous as best thing is have some trike drivers on call and hire a Maid housekeeper to look after him so his place is clean and he is well fed and looked after. Spend the Money taking care of yourself and make life EASIER and More PEACEFUL not be young buck racing around on a Motorcycle. I have a Honda ADV but also looking for small car as we need to be SAFE
@@paulk8444 He says he is in no hurry but it sure looks like a hurry to me. Lol. At his age he really needs to slow down and make right decisions. One bad one could be his last one in the Philippines. All the things he did we all have done but not in 8 days. Lol
I think Orville might already be suffering from the early stages of dementia. Its alright to wish you were still 30 but to actually believe it is madness
I’m 70 and hope to go there and was think of getting a motorcycle there. I experienced riding in the summer in the northeast and year round for ten years in Florida. 50 years total. I broke some bones over the years but nothing that would kill me being younger at the time. I think I will take your advice. These days if I get a scratch from my cat, something that would have completely healed in a week when I was young is with me for three weeks now. As dumb as I may sound I never associated that healing time with the bones. Thanks for the advice doc.
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 My recommendation is prepay your funeral costs if you are going to drive a motor bike at age 84. I don't even see craziness like that in the states were driving is MUCH safer. To tell you the truth I doubt many 84 yr old's could even pass the driving test here in California. Excellent interview Paul, I always enjoy when Goldfinger is apart of the show. Great to see Orville is living life and thankful he has the likes of you and Goldfinger. Blessings to all.
I took my mother off the road at age 82 after getting some remarks from people who were concerned about her driving. And then I'm talking car, not motorbike. I think Orville should give up driving alltogether, but certainly refrain from driving two wheelers. Add up his age with the Filipino driving style which is way different from the USA and the terrible road infrastructure that is so typical for the country we all love and I think he whould be tempting fate. He didn't say what his monthly budget is, but if he can afford it I would recommend that he hire a domestic helper (M or F) with car driving experience, then buy himself one of those cheap multicabs. His domestic helper can drive him around, cook for him, clean his house, do the laundry, accompany him to places where he might need an interpreter. When he's not feeling well he can take him to a doctor or a hospital etc. For someone Orville's age, such a helper can be worth his weight in gold.
My mother is still driving (Indiana) at 93 and I'm still thriving on a motorcycle since 14 yrs old and working investing construction at 65. I would like the luxury of not riding bikes on the road but as long as margins remain tight and I am alert, I am comfortable riding and encouraging my mother to stay mobile locally.
I remember the first time I saw Goldfinger I didn’t care for him and it wasn’t long until I really liked him; looked forward to seeing him, missed seeing him. He is a good person and I am glad to have seen him again today warmest regards to all of you from Arlington Texas
I've heard countless good Samaritan stories about the Filipino people returning lost wallets with the money inside and cell phones. Much more good than bad here. So inspiring, what a pleasant change ✌🏾
I was riding my scooter from Dumaguete to Valencia one day and my phone fell out of my pocket, two teenage boys stopped a picked it up, caught up with me and returned it. People in the Philippines are much more honest and kind than they are given credit for by many people that have never been here.
If you can't pick the bike up, you need a lighter bike. If there are none lighter, other options should be explored. That said, way to go Orville! Never give up!
This is an award winning type of interview Paul. Goldfinger always has something going on. Orville is like most of us. The mind thinks 35, but the body and reflexes are age appropriate. Never to old to chat with a beautiful women. I kept saying out loud, "Trike, Trike" they will take you anywhere. I came across those Trike operating hours coming back from McDonald's to my hotel. Ended up walking the 1.5 miles back to the hotel. Slow Down should be the banner on T Shirts for Sleepy Dumaguete 😀 Keep up the good work Paul. Maybe see you end of May.
There is a trick to picking up bikes so even a 100 pound woman can pick up a 900 pound Harley. You face away from the bike and use your legs and use them to push it with your back and hands. There are videos on YT that show it and it’s fairly easy once you get it. At the same time I sold my 900 pound bike and my 600 pound bike. The big bikes are great for long highway rides, but something small and light would be better for busy cities. Orville could add crash bars so a bike doesn’t go all the way over and hurt his leg, but a trike would probably be better.
Hey Paul Old friend, Orville is now my new expat idol!! Talk about daring, age be damned, devil may care attitude.... that's Orville!! Hats off to Orville. He shows the true American spirit of strength and independence. On the generosity and kindness of Filipinos. The woman at the laundry found 20,000 Pesos in my pocket. She only knew my name and that I went to the gym down the street. She went to the gym to find out where I lived then with her husband found my home and returned the money. For perspective, that is a month’s wage for a typical construction worker.
I don't know about you, but I think it would have been kind to give her a reward for her time, energy and honesty. 10% of the money she returned would seem appropriate if you can afford it. Now I understand some expats are on a very tight budget and couldn't pay that much. But even if you can only give a few peso's that would be a kind gesture.
@@danielhackney7806 Daniel, YES! That is exactly what I did. I gave her 2,000 Pesos. I had to convince her to take it. At first, she and her husband didn't want to accept my gift. It took both me and my girlfriend seveal minutes (they spoke in the local language so I didn't understand what was said) and eventually it was all smiles.
He is his own worst enemy. Hope he slows down just a little. With the way things are going in the USA even living in the Philippines may be a problem if you are on a fixed income. I have decided to stay in the USA, live the RV van life as a nomad, and enjoy the outdoors for the rest of my life. I don't think my income will be able to keep up with the rising costs even in the Philippines. The women in the Philippines are great, but that would only add to my expenses. Good luck, guys.
I am from Freeport, Texas and I am 71 years old. I graduated in 1970. The last graduating senior class between Clute, Lake Jackson, and Freeport at Brazosport Senior High School. Then Brazoswood went up to the 11th Grade. Another friend of mine from Freeport he graduated in 1968. He lives near here I ended up missing meeting up with him about 2 weeks ago. His name is David Knoebel. I lived at 420 west fourth street. My dad retired from Dow Chemical Company also as a pipe fitter and welder in 1968. He worked there about 30 years.
The man is not crashing the bike because it is too heavy. He is crashing due to motor skills, reaction time and eyesight. He is going wide in corners and hitting curbs (that is speed and depth perception) then he is throttling instead if laying off (motor skilss) Get him a small trike at least he won't fall over as much and have a little more protection. Also make sure he wears at least a helmet and gloves. A trike is also better because of debris on the road, not to mention dirt roads...

I see people suggesting buying an electric three wheeler. At his age and reflex time I really believe that your advice on just hiring transportation is the only way to go. This has all the characteristics of a disaster in the making. Just look at the first week. He should consider getting a 2 bedroom and hire a full-time maid/caregiver to help him with all his needs. A little help from a caregiver could turn this potential shitshow into a great experience and help out a local with a job. Thank goodness Goldfinger is there to help him for now. We know you make a little coin for doing the vlog but we also know that it is not worth the trouble and work and we truly appreciate the fact that you have given of yourself in what should be retirement to help others wanting to enjoy life there. Thank you, Brother and May God Bless.
Great info!....To many guys are used to the US way of doing things and are always rushing around. It is somewhat natural to want to establish shelter first (which he did by getting a hotel) but as you and Goldfinger both said, there is no rush. It was great that he already knows to stay in Duma proper so as able to use public transport etc. He has his base established and now can branch out and do some real looking on the "where would I like to live" aspects. It is great that he met both you and Goldfinger as you will help him slow roll his transition to his new life. That's great you are willing to help out a fellow expat!

Hi Paul. Great 👍 interview with the "newcomer" Orville and also Goldfinger. Orville seems to be a great guy and with a little help and direction, I think he will fit well in the Philippines. It may or may not be in Dumageti but also like you mentioned Paul,..Cebu could be a good place for him. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Another great vid Paul and entertaining stories. And, good advice to one and all about slowing down and investigating things. I find some expats feel they know it all, (And share that info) but really don’t, due to lack of bona fide research over time. I’ll get Goldfinger’s book and compare notes:-)…. I feel certain that at some point I’m gonna come follow your friends book, and check out moving to the Philippines - wisely. I’m feel it in my bones! :-)
Aw gee whiz, Paulie... how come I always get stuck at the Kids Table for dinner? Orville was truly a treat and I really enjoyed spending time with the three of you! To be honest, I think Orville is gonna make it here. He has the right attitude, his expectations are reasonable, and he has made friends with Goldfinger and the Old Dog (me too, actually)! As for me, I was much happier hiding off-cam. Cameras are NOT my friend, so it's better if I avoid scaring the bejeezus out of your subscribers, Paul! I hope Orville's next few weeks are a lot less eventful, at least from the standpoint of operating a motorcycle in the Philippines. Perhaps an e-Trike might be more suitable, at least until he fully recovers from his calamity. Thanks for another great interview, Paul, and thanks for the social interaction. I was almost worth the price of admission. 🤣

I’m inspired by Orville and glad he’s okay! Hi Paul I’m Steve, a longtime viewer and a new subscriber. I have really enjoyed watching your channel and I always enjoy your very informative interviews. I have visited Cebu in 2017 and just fell in love with the Philippines. I had never been to a place so beautiful and have never met people so helpful and friendly. Ever since that trip I have been researching, planning a return trip and I’m planning to retire somewhere in the Philippines. I finally met a wonderful Filipina that I am going to meet in person and I am so excited. She is a province girl from Cebu. I just wanted to say hello and thank you for all of the videos that you put out. They have all been very informative. I’m sure I will have a lot of questions about making the big move. I hope someday we can have a beer together and get acquainted. Thanks again.
I think Orville would be better off with a 3 or 4 wheel electric vehicle, he has to admit he is just too old to safely drive a two wheel scooter.

SMART MAN.
Thank you for the advice Corvette
Are you waking up with somebody? Then you need to be in the Philippines.
@@sorry9388 I am fine right here in the USA for now.
@@Go4Corvette you’re just like me when I’m in the US. No Girls talking to you, no girls care about you, alone day after day. You’re missing out.
Thanks for putting it out there. Your friends are entertaining as heck!
Thank you, Eric
My man Orville sat there and grinned through the whole interview. I was cracking up at him. That dude was ready to go man!
Wonderful interview and a great story about the phone. I wish him the best, thank you so much.
All my best Joe
Wonderful video! Thanks to you and Goldfinger for befriending Orville. I think Orville will always be young at heart.❤
Orville needs to activate “Find My” on his Apple devices.
It's amazing to hear about your connections and memories from Freeport! Sounds like you have a rich history there.
Keep 'em coming buddy! I been watching you for about a year and I love yer interviews! Props 2 you!
Thank you, Sean
Orville, hire a driver to take you anywhere on your bike.
Good advice Koya
Goldfinger
He's the man, the man with the Midas touch
A spider's touch
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin
But don't go in
😂
This made my day!I couldn’t stop laughing😅😅😅
HELLO EVERYONE MY BEAUTIFUL PHILIPPINE PEOPLE FROM HOUSTON TEXAS USA THANKS PAUL 🇺🇲🇵🇭🙏
Thank you, Mark
Nice conversation! Orville is an amazing guy ! Goldfinger is so cool and helpful ! Needless to say Old dog is kicking ass ! Cheers !
The man is not crashing the bike because it is too heavy. He is crashing due to motor skills, reaction time and eyesight. He is going wide in corners and hitting curbs (that is speed and depth perception) then he is throttling instead if laying off (motor skilss)
Get him a small trike at least he won't fall over as much and have a little more protection.
Also make sure he wears at least a helmet and gloves.
A trike is also better because of debris on the road, not to mention dirt roads...
Maybe a trike that comes with a driver!
@@Rwj378folks, this is how men stay youthful, fit, and mentally sharp, let him do as he pleases, bike-wise, he's scratched up like the 13 year old inside his head, let him be the dude he is:)
@@lyceum4177You can see that he's only been there a week and already someone has to look after him! Come on, 84 is too old to be there. He's not safe from women, driving or housing.
@@sandrabentley8111 I agree. I hope the guys who are yelling go go go will be donating generously to the “Go Fund Me” to pay his hospital bills, or to buy his ticket back to the US. I am all about freedom, and I believe we all have a God given right to do stupid shit. Just hate to see an amazing long life finish in a complete FUBAR.

Another great video Paul. Good information, great advice and the trials and tribulations of a nice guy. You wrapped it up in a single video. All of you guys are a group, I'd love to one day meet when I visit the PI ! Live your best life Paul, and I'll keep watching until it's my time !!!
Thank you, Ted
Hi sir Paul! Pls extend my Hi to sir Orville too!!! I used to lived with my family in Lake Jackson, TX where Orville is from. I am Filipino-American subscriber of yours in Pearland, Texas. I was so delighted to see Orville in your vlog. Hope he will have a good time in the Philippines. Btw Iloilo is my hometown and planning to retire there in 10 years. God bless your channel!!! Mabuhay ka!!!
I will extend your hello. Thank you so much for watching my channel.
When you check back with this guy in 3 months I guarantee you he's going to have a black tank top on with flame borders wearing sunglasses with two 25 year old women in both his arms
Haha, that's a bold guess! Let's see how it turns out in 3 months!
And a golden chain around his neck, haha. With the B-sign of Bitcoin, hahaha.
Lol😂👍👍😂
Well, let's just pray he's still alive.
3 lovely gents! Thank you for this vlog, and best of luck to Orville.
Thank you, Paul
I wish Goldie would have his own channel. Goldies just too hilarious as always!!!
Maybe one day!
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 - What ever happened to Goldfingers friend Darrel/Darrin? He was also in a motorbike accident. How about a video update on Darrel/Darrin? And also have Goldfinger there too..
Great stuff right here!

A great video. Thanks OD!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Kudos to you and Goldfinger helping Orville get settled. Yes places do a hotel review!
On my list
Much respect for Orville. At age 84 and getting into the Philippines 🇵🇭 game is amazing. He gives hope for youngsters like me age 61. Getting close to retirement time for me. Now planning to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭.
That’s awesome David
Wow, nearing 100,000 subscribers! Congrats Paul!

Hi Paul,
I really enjoyed this interview and these fellows are very down to earth. I tip my hat to Goldfinger for his kindness. Orville is awesome.
Thank you very much, Mark

Thank you for your comment
Excellent interview thanks for sharing. More videos like this.

Thank you, Tony. God bless you also.
Irrepressible spirit of life. I FREAKING LOVE IT!
Thank you, George
I've been a subscriber and watching your channel for four years. I think this is the funniest episode you've posted. Go get them Orville!

Team Goldfinger!
❤
Awesome video Paul. wow sure wished we all could be in good as shape as your guest is.
Thank you very much 😊
Great info!....To many guys are used to the US way of doing things and are always rushing around.
Thanks, guys like Orville make it all worthwhile
Thats an excellent interview. Thanks
Thanks so much 👍
Really enjoy the input from Goldfinger!
Would like to see more of Goldfinger and hear his stories.
Also, I’m really hoping we get another update from John and life is still treating him well.
Keep up the good work Paul 👍
Thank you, Paulie We will see
I tell you always attracts expats with great sense of humors.
Orville you have a great attitude, please be safe and smart during your adventures. Goldfinger thanks for being a good friend. Paul, I’d really enjoy hearing again from Orville before he returns home to hear about his Philippine adventures. Great interview and video, thank you.
Thank you so much for watching Michael
Absolutely great video

Hello Orville, hope you are doing well. Very excited to see someone that lived in the RGV. I'm from the RGV as well. Couple of minutes into the video and had to pause to say hello and wish you all the luck in the world. Back to the video 😀😀😀

Thank you very much for watching
Love the videos. Hope Orville gets settled in and lives his dream.
We are all cheering for him, Ken
Another great vid Paul and entertaining stories.
And, good advice to one and all about slowing down and investigating things.
I find some expats feel they know it all, (And share that info) but really don’t, due to lack of bona fide research over time.
I’ll get Goldfinger’s book and compare notes:-)…. And a heartwarming story how he is taking care of Orville.
Good on you Goldfinger.
Feels like one of your good old fashion Vids Paul!-)
Lovely
Thank you very much, Ronaldo

What a fun trio you make! Orville is a hoot!
This was especially interesting to me, being 76 years old... and still "chasing skirts."

Haha, I appreciate the love, even if it's just in your heart! Looking forward to seeing you in the future.
I find it to be very cozy, romantic and quite nice to snuggle up with your Filipina while your trike driver is taking you to your destination.
Another great video, love from Philippines Antics

Paul, I really enjoyed this video! Thank you so much. And I hope everything works out fantastically well for your 84-year-old friend. Looking forward to a follow up!
I feel certain that at some point I’m gonna come follow your friends book, and check out moving to the Philippines - wisely. I’m feel it in my bones! :-)
Thank you I hope you make it over
What are great guy Paul...🙏🏻 Orville is amazing... 😮🎉
I guess goldfinger's okay too....
Thanks for the love, glad you enjoyed the video!
glad Goldfinger is there watching over him. Definitely needs a 3 or 4 wheels to ride
Paul,,you and Goldfinger(now that theme song is in my head) are two of the good ones.Keep up the good work!
Thanks Rick
The Cebu advice is spot on...
Was great to finally meet you today, let's get together again soon!
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 You can count on it!
I worked and lived from age 53 to 62 in Lake Jackson Walmart as an overnight stocker; till 2017 when we came to Dumaguete. Had a shack on the San Benard River. Two girls born there. Only place in the US worth a damn.
On the nightshift ? Would of been boring job though 😅
That’s very interesting Dashley
Orville, I hope you find your pace and find your own paradise in Dumagette. And yes Goldfinger is like Paul's evil nemesis. That's not evil at all. 😂😂😂
Goldfinger and Paul, the ultimate showdown in Dumaguete!
Good episode! His positive outlook is inspiring.
Thank you Erin
Thank you so very much, Steve. I look forward to meeting you one day.
Good to see he has helping hands on his new adventure in life 😊
Thank you, Dave. My condolences for your loss

Thanks Old Dog! Thanks Goldfinger 15 minutes or less and I had a ebook, do you ever sleep 😂
