- Welcome to our first in-person episode of Brydon &, featuring one of the UK’s most iconic and celebrated musicians, Noel Gallagher! They meet at Noel’s music studio to chat about the time Rob watched Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds from the side of the stage at The Isle of Wight Festival, the new Oasis documentary, ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’, and Noel’s love of Jerry Seinfeld and WILTY?.
Noel also discusses his musical influences in the punk era of his teenage years from The Clash, to The Jam, to Blondie, and recalls some of his ‘star struck’ moments, including meeting George Harrison and Paul McCartney.

Yeah, how about....no.
the fact that David Mitchell refuses to join this podcast goes to prove how shitty this series really is
Does it sound better? You both have poor microphone technique!
Was good while it lasted. Now moved to spotify? Not signing up/into yet another medium.
@@jhogrute Serious question, why are you here commenting on it?
How is it that Noel is so down to earth, and yet has such a huge ego at the same time 😂
He’s an enigma
He's probably the easiest person in the world to interview.Every interview of his is an entertaining watch.
Because he sends himself up with the ego stuff
Because he has confidence not ego.. Big difference
But he is an enigma haha
@@jemcee97
He actually has both
I think it’s self belief not ego
That's the 'nicest' I've seen Noel and great to hear him speak so warmly about Liam. There's still hope for the future?! Great interviewing by Rob too!
Not really. He gives him credit for being a good singer at the time, but he still hates him.
@@endezeichengrimm who can blame him. Liam always comes across like an arsehole and Noel always seems chill
They both speak nicely of each other in interviews and Noel recently said he’d be down to getting back together
@@mattfromwiisports9046 do you know where/when did he say that?
@@beetl4bum Don't stress bro. He didn't say it EXACTLY so positively like it could happen.
Never watched a Rob Brydon interview before. He was brilliant. Funny, let Noel talk, got stories out of him and also just kept it light and fun. Subbed
Yep. Agreed. A funny, easy going interview. A really good series. And a really good episode. Noel has so much to tell! Fascinating!
Yh hes actualy alryt
rob has been quality at everything he's done. top bloke.
I'll tell you about it sometime.
@@alexdunhill4271 Agreed...love his humour & especially his character in Gavin and Stacey!
I love how he lets people speak, and doesn't make it all about himself.
I have no idea wha you're talking about. Can't even tell of you're trolling or wha! 😭😂
Trolling done right.
Met Noel Gallagher outside a pub in Highgate about 15 years ago. I think I went up to him to talk to him, and he actually took time away from his mates to have a brief chat with me. So down to earth.
Love that Noel felt like a competition winner when he met Jerry Seinfeld, but didn’t even blink whilst sending a picture of himself and Bruce Springsteen to Bono 🤣 Really great interview.
10/10
One of the best Noel interviews I’ve seen , super chilled
Also rob should do a comedians in cars with Jerry Seinfeld 100%
This was Beautiful to Watch
Cheers Rob, your a bloody legend for this channel.
Watching WILTY clips over and over is great, but this is much more intimate
I've been lucky to discover Noel is a great guy. He's very friendly, humble and easy to chat with. Wonderful!
One of the most relaxed interview I think I have ever seen, nothing was rushed no drama just fun. Great job 👏
I could listen to Rob and Noel talk forever, two of my favourite people! 👍
would love to see Noel as a guest on Would I Lie To You
HA I reckon he and Lee would have a good laff - most likely at RB and DM's expense! But it would make for some fun TV, no doubt.
Rob has this great thing of bringing out the realness of celebrity. The interview looked like 2 great friends just having a conversation,It's probably the only time I've seen Noel (and I've seen loads of his interviews) being so sincere and not his sardonic arrogant nonchalant interview persona.
Rob & Noel on stage together? now that would be something I'd like to see.
Brydon & ... The best pod on CZcams
Noel is smart enough to enjoy the ageing process!
Any 50 year old behaving like he was still in his 20s would be doomed! 2
How am I only finding this channel now?!? I love Rob Brydon and he has had some fantastic guests on too, with not many views. This channel needs more recognition.
j was born in '68, couple of weeks before danny kirwan joined Fleetwood Mac.. 🙂 x
thankyou for sharing this..
we got to about ten minutes in and i was thinking, wow, no swearing! Llol.. (famous last words 🙂)
Fantastic! As always thanks for posting these excerpts for those of us who can’t access Spotify due to deafness 😉👍🏻
Quite unusual for Noel to let someone into his personal space/studio 🎙 you are honored Rob 😘
What a great interview. A couple of super guys having a chat and sharing it for us. Loved it 👏
Thanks Rob and crew for this surprisingly enjoyable encounter! Dave J
Mid nineties was an interesting time for me. Noel was a key part of the soundtrack.
What a fantastic start to the day! Fantastic musician and a fantastic interviewer, perfection of a podcast!
That was really good, many thanks for the upload Rob :)
Love from New Zealand x xxxx
This is two of the naturally funniest people out there, I knew this would be gold!
That was a great interview. the laid back vibe, I enjoyed it.
Only just come to your channel recently Rob. And I've got to say, it's a fabulous watch ! You should have your own chatshow on telly. Brilliant, how you get the best out of your guest's. Noel in particular, is definitely a favourite of mine. His music with Oasis back in the day, shaped a generation i grew up with. His music now, is his freedom of expression that touches many of us who grew up listening to his unique awesome style as a songwriter. One of the best of our time.
I enjoyed the podcast version before this was uploaded, but it was great to see the in person reactions
We’ll done Rob for not asking THAT question #classy 🔥🔥🔥
It's been like 12 years. He is friends with Noel and probably knows the answer.
Stumbled on this, great interview, and top marks to RB for not interrupting.
Hey Rob! I’ve recently become a big fan of yours through Would I Lie to You - an American with no idea how good that show is. Thank you for doing this - especially with Noel. As a musician and singer, Noel had such a big impact in my life. Really cool to see this
Great interview ! Noel is a legend. I was at Knebworth '96 and it indeed meant a lot to me, still does.
Two masters of their craft having a conversation. Wonderful.
That was so good Rob, thanks a whole heap!
I bloody loved Oasis. So many classic songs. I still do to this day.
I used to love Oasis. I mean, I still do, but I used to, too.
Great interview. You shone a light on Noel Gallagher that I've yet to see previously.
What a totally brilliant interview. Definitely no ego's just two 50 odd year old chatting and telling stories. That ladies and gentlemen is how life should be. Not this Instagram/Facebook shite.
What a great interview. Thank you Rob.
Thank you! That was a fun little visit.
Excellent. Great interview, suggesting rather than leading the way the conversation goes. Fantastic, great chemistry.
Nice one. I could listen to Noel chat all day 👍🏿
Awesome interview. Genuinely impressed
Excellent interview cheers lads!
I've watched quite a few Noel interviews and although he's definitely a very direct, straight talking fella he always comes across as a genuinely great bloke.
I could have listened to hours of this! Lovely conversation.
Another great chat, Rob. Noel is a master storyteller -- even does voices and movements well.
When Rob mentioned Bruce, I was hoping he meant Forsythe!!! What a great relaxing, funny interview. I wish it was longer! That's what SHE said.
Great interview Rob! Love listening to Noel’s interviews too
Let's try to change this sentence.
Lovely interview 💕
Brilliant in every way. Good job Rob
I think this is the most respect that I've seen Noel show anyone in an interview. He really must be a huge fan of 'Would I Lie To You'?
These just get better and better 👏
This is absolute gold !
Absolute quality Rob you could have gone on for hours more !
Am loving experiencing these interviews via Spotify - this one of my particular favourites!
What a treat! x
Brilliant. Ya can't beat Rob Brydon. Lovely interview that.
Really enjoyed that, thanks.
loved the chemistry of you two
Nice to see noel actually talk fondly about Laim. Great interview light hearted
I don't know whether it was triggered by the Knebworth documentary or Liam's current success, but Noel seems to talk about Liam with less anger these days. He sounds reflective and almost affectionate and mentions Liam more and more in interviews. It's a bit sad when you consider they haven't had an actual conversation in 12 years.
Of course they talk they have same management
I think it is part the documentary but more the fact that Liam has toned down his personal criticism of Noel and his family on Twitter. Something Noel alluded to in a recent Jo Whiley interview, although he still said the relationship between them was 'done'.
Just goes to show what a back stabber (and celebrity 'brown noser' - Bono!) Noel is.
Cretin.
I really enjoy listening to Noel, this is a great video Rob, well done.
Absolutely great interview!!
I loved this, the chat was great and genuine. No bullshit just genuine chat about life. Seems like chats get better the older people get! Thanks Rob for a great interview, well not an interview more a chat. I have seen a few of your interviews now, great job!
Mr Brydon, there is something I feel you ought to be told. You mentioned that Seinfeld is a hero of yours. As someone who is a comedy addict, and analyses things exhaustively at a professional level, I need to tell you that your abilities and skill set completely outclass Seinfeld ( nothing against him personally) but really.. your timing, creativity, quick reactions, humility, relatability..... you have a level of ability that dwarfs Mr Seinfeld. You're a fairly modest gent so this might not have occurred to you, however I utterly believe it to be true. Anyway. Great interview ! Great videos ! Cheers for now. (Simon Inglis Australia)
I agree with you but as a big fan of Mr Brydon myself, I thought it was a bit brash of you to bring up the word “dwarf” 🤔😉
Nah seinfeld is better.
@@kdcyp Sorry...didn't even realise he is short? :)
@@leemcqueen500 These peanuts...are making me thirsty... not, that there's anything wrong with that....no-more-soup for you !
Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm) is funnier than Seinfeld.
Live forever.. in Welsh has to happen, Rob and Noel duet that would be 👍🏻.
Great interview!
Best most relaxed Noel interview ever what can I say 🤗
This is great Rob. Great work
I actually really enjoyed that..relaxed , personable ...well done.
Loooove Rob Brydon.......have done so for many years! A nice looking man with a lovely personality!
Great. Noel is always worth a listen.
I love the way Liam stayed humble down to earth and didn't let false famous people amazed him.
Just found your channel Rob. This was ruddy great. Love Noel, love you and loved this interview. From a fellow Welsh man 👍
Lovely chat.
Great interview! Two thoroughly nice guys 👍
I could have watched this all day long.
Better than I was expecting 👍👍
Really good interviewer is Rob, soft relaxing polite manner.
Yep! Check out Whispering Bob Harris with Keith Richards on CZcams, circa '73...now that's a soft relaxing interviewer!! 😎😍
Great interview, wish it was longer. Noel's always a great guest and Rob is such a natural host.
Spotify version is an hour.
Yes, RB is very very experienced host these days and knows just what he's doing. I suspect with a little extra polish he could have a good extra career as an interviewer, using that must be a very extensive list of people he knows both socially and through his WILTY role. With his quirky humour and impression ability to liven things along a bit it could a whole lot of fun. The key is gaining trust from your guest/interview subjects and Rob has that ability in spades. As we see here - Noel is confident and relaxed in his familiar surrounds and able to be no-one but himself. Brilliant.
I could have listened to these two all day.
He’s mellowing quite nicely :)
Really enjoyed this 👍👍
Two of my favourite people on the planet here, so enjoyable
So glad it's the talented brother you interviewed 👍
What wonderful stories
Great little interview really enjoyed this Rob diolch yn fawr 👍🏻
I love how these TV stars are starting to do their own thing on CZcams I think its the way to go.
Loved that...cheers
I loved this, this was awesome
That made me smile from ear to ear. Thank you so much.
This is sooooo good. 5 x ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ bravo!!
Excellent interview.
Wow! he actually said his brothers name and complimented him!!
Noel has great stories could listen to him all day
Great interview.
My god noel has become a big showbiz name dropper
Fantastic interview 👏
What an absolute experience. I waz just listening to Noel, when this popped up, an awesome start for the day.
I really enjoyed this, he's quiet a likeable bloke ,all my years of ignorance.
If you listen to the old russel brand radio shows from 2006 up until when it finished 2008 they ring him nearly every show and he's hilarious in those.
He has mellowed now. In the past he described himself as a "right c@nt you really would not want to be around" which is a big part of why the band split up. Which he did deliberately. Control - he has to have it and he could not dominate Liam, so he shut it down. Killed the biggest band in recent history - so yes, a bit of a c$nt.
@@Spartanm333
Liam is a moronic man child buffoon. That's what destroyed the band. Touring and recording with a 5 year old will do that to the musical and lyrical brains behind the band.
Noel got fed up babysitting a baby.
@@Spartanm333
P.S ... nowhere NEAR the biggest band in recent history. Not even in the UK nevermind the globe as a whole.
@@kifwoo1 Wrong. You need to listen and learn to read. The whole band got up to antics including Noel who has admitted he took every drug and tablet that was offered to him. That's rock and roll. At the studio, Liam was a dream, one take he smashed it.
Noel killed the band because he didn't want to share the toys with his baby brother who was a better front man, better singer, more stylish, more media pull and critically, more liked by the fans - he has said this as a matter of record. He thought he didn't need Oasis any more... his solo career has proved that a mistake.
And it was Liam and Bonehead's band originally. Noel was late to the party, a roadie at 28. Together they created magic, we all can agree on that. Noel acted like a spoilt, arrogant twat in the final years and he ended Oasis - my point.
Noel and Rob - this is cool✊🏻
Absolutely brilliant
