In my estimation, many people on overstay try to show up at airport and avoid paying overstay fees. Manila Airport Immigration very good at stopping you from boarding without overstay payment.
Back in the day, Tourist Visa was only 21 days. I did all my own travel tickets online. I forgot Philippines was unique. Most Tourist Visa's are 30 days upon arrival. Had to pay overstay fee.
Can the update of ACR Card address be done online? Sure would make things much simpler.

This is great Heidi is so knowledgeable. Question I have a ACR card. I left the Philippines for the holidays. I know I get a 30 visa free. So after I am back do I have to do another months extension after the 30 day free Or since I have a ACR card can I do 6 months.

Mike thanks for Heidi! I wanted to notify you when i went for my 6 month extension they would only give me two months this time again! Hey told me they need to have a letter notarized from an attorney or somebody like that requesting the 6 month. Also they're getting real tight now i came three days early and they were upset that it wasn't 7 days i gave me just a verbal warning you have to come seven days ahead of the date it expires. I hope that's new information for you

What happens if you overstay and you do not have money to pay for penalty? Can you negotiate with the Department of Immigration ?
Yes never overstay as that goes on your record

I don't think this question was asked, but maybe it will be answered now. What IF you overstay a long time, say years and you legitimately have no money, they will just deport and blacklist you? where do they sent you if deported of course back to your home country but where? That was just a curious question. Now this one actually happened to me. I have a 13A visa and wanted to open a bank account and was denied because my wife was not with me. I explained she is working back in the USA and why do I need her physically with me? The answer was just because...It was not a big problem at the time, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen.

I do not know for sure if the 59 days visa on arrival is for everyone

What happens if you extended the visa and you travel in between. Does the clock start over? In other words, I extended the visa to Feb 1st then I traveled to another country and returned Dec 10th. Does the clock restart (e.g., 30 days) or is Feb 1st valid? Thanks
The whole clock restarts, Including the three year maximum stay period. A new visa on arrival, Tourist Visa is issued if you are from a Visa on Arrival authorised country.

So I can take my American wedding certificate to the Philippine consult here in Tampa Florida and they can give me a Spouse Visa 13A . How long does that take doing it here? Plus do I need to have a exit ticket flying in to Manila since I'm married to a filipina from Negros Oriental when we leave Florida? Plus what type of police clearance do I need to get here in Florida the county sheriff can do it but it's just for here in our county can you be specific on this before I go get this paperwork and spend money. Plus I'm getting my name change Apostille and marriage certificate Apostille that All I need cause our federal government is way behind here doing apostilles

You should have asked her why the ACR card costs $100, and why it needs to be renewed annually. It's a rhetorical question, but would have been fun to watch you ask her.

I overstayed in Thailand once. 🤭 3 days lol no problem. Don’t overstay. Do your planning and your homework. Or be thrown out possibly.

The ACR card by itself will not allow you to open a bank account.
Yeah that was my reaction as well when I heard that. The card is completely useless, other than having an official ID (which is what your passport is for anyways). It's just an excuse for them to charge you $100 every year.
By philippine law ìf your on a tourist visa after 2 months you need to have an ACR Card
@@mikesphilippineretirement true they automatically give you one and charge you for it but it provides no benefits to a tourist visa.
I needed mine to open a bank account, get a Philippine D.L.

I got my SRRV visa 6 months ago and life is good now. I can now renew my SRRV every two years. It's great showing my SRRV card to Philippine immigration officers at MIAA.😊

How silly to do an exit clearance. I understand the logic. But again another thing that why not tp stay in Philippines. Offloading, sim registration, internet sketchy , paper driven. I prefer staying in Thailand. So much easier.
Enjoy ur retirement there. Not my cup of tea. Sadly my Gf there. But we stay most time in Thailand or traveling. She even is starting to prefer Thailand lol
