The first time I was in Cebu ..I met a woman for lunch at my hotel...she brought her "cousin" to have lunch with me....we had lunch and I could see that they were close....she was supposed to date me and show me around....well when she went to the bathroom...he asked me what I felt about her.....I told him we had been chatting for about 4 months and I was looking forward to getting to know her better....well he was her husband and told me he would rent his wife to me for a few days....that was a shock to me !! Well she got back and wanted to spend time with me ..I paid for their meal and excused myself... I did not make a scene and told them I had other plans and told her I would call her when I was done with my business.....I kept face and so did they...welcome to the Philippines...!

When she's finished - exhausted - and laying in your arms and you both fall asleep - a little jealousy will be the last thing on your mind - and not the deal breaker you boast it to be.
My philippine wife gets a little bit jealous. Remember, sometimes were one of the best things that’s ever happened to her. As long as she’s not controlling or out of control, just reassure her that she still the one that you love. And never compliment the other girl lol.

Yes, so very true. The insecurity is out of control there. Guys don't wait on it to change if you meet a woman who shows you consistently she's jealous, get out of that relationship. The "saving face" thing is just the beginning of the worst to come.
Married to my Filipina for 20 years. Not a jealous bone in her body. We have a solid loving relationship, 2 children, homes in Canada and Phils. I'm in Phils solo quite often and she is completely fine with it but I don't do anything to cause her to question my loyalty either. They're not all demanding to search your Facebook account.

In my experience in life the people who don't trust their partners usually can't be trusted. If a person is insanely jealous they are judging you by their nature not yours. There is a difference in jealousy and genuinely caring for somebody.

So true about jealousy ruining relationships, have previous experience with this before my filipina wife.
Merlyn always told me she was not a jealous person and I believed her, she told me that she knew I admired other pretty girls and it did not bother her. After a lot of the recent videos watched about jealousy, confronted her that it was impossible that she wasn't jealous, we laughed and she admitted that she did get jealous but that she trusts me...she thinks am so guapo is the reason she gets jealous...lol.
So agree that jealousy is a thing in filipinas, but it is handled by most filipinas differently. It is important that you give your filipina no reasons to be jealous such as you said, letting your wife or girlfriend know you arrived at your destination, communicating with them regularly so they know what you are up to.

I agree with you about being aware of the saving face idea. I disagree with being inspected and snooped on. If my woman does not trust me, she can kick rocks. It is not my place to be doubted. What are you talking about guys? It´s not about jealousy. It´s about the fear of losing a real good PREY! Try getting these "girls" jealous if you don´t have a lot. It´s not gonna happen. Who cares about you? Nobody!!! I tried it different ways - once telling some of the truth, another time telling I was broke. Hell, what a difference!!! My Filipino wife used to get jealous of me constantly, but, after like 30 or 40 times she's trying to catch me doing something.I'm at a comic bookshop playing a card game.She gave up trying to catch me after that
My ex wife was crazy jealous, showing up on my job if I didn’t call her on every break, if the grocery cashier was a woman and spoke just nice, there would be a scene. I couldn’t handle it. I lived in that hell for 4 years and it just got worse. I divorced her, good riddance! I lived single up until now 45 years later. I’ve always worked all the overtime I could get plus did side jobs on my days off, I can tell you that’s no way to keep a relationship going as I’ve had more than one fail over just that. I moved to the Philippines in 2013 when I retired, met a gal, started a relationship and if I walked across block away I’d get phone calls or text messages. I’ll answer a call but not a text if I’m not going to be gone all day. The jealousy over there was too much for me to deal with. The silent treatment was a relief to me but living with a bitter person didn’t feel right. I lived my last year over there alone and loved it but that ex stalked me constantly. Now I just live in Florida enjoying life my way. No headaches!

I like the fact that you are keeping each other posted on your whereabouts. That fosters trust! But I do not agree on sharing passwords. When I was in an LDR with my last Filipina girlfriend, she offered to give me the password of her FB. I told her I didn't want it because I trusted her. I also never gave her my password. There is, however, a reason for suspicion when you wife or girlfriend refuses to befriend her on FB. Then she has something to hide. I found that out the hard way with my ex-Filipina-wife.

Saving face. Salamat and ouch. My poorest aspect is my temper. I need to learn to control it and listen to what i say before i say it.
Jealousy. My experience with jealousy came from my father who was very hurtful. As a result, i see jealousy as a negative in a relationship. It leads to anger and mistrust. It was an issue in my LDR that stranded our relationship.

Thanks to your videos I avoided many of the pitfalls that many people fall into. I will tell you like I told Rob over at fly me to the Philippines, you both have wonderful Content of success and missteps moving to the Philippines. You Rob, and Gio are spot on with everything that you are saying. And I’m speaking from experience. My first visit was for 10 days. My next day will be for a month. Probably at the end of the year towards December. I told Rob I was going to come in town and buy him a beer. I’d like to also buy you a beer too brother. You and Janet are living the dream. I would say that there is a line between your partner staying informed, such as txting when your leaving a location or telling them where you're going and being harassed by being asked to prove where you are and who you are with. We met right before the Covid so we were spending a lot of time together but then the Country opened up and I was going to go to Italy for my sons wedding and she was crazy jealous. We got through it and she is now ok with me traveling.

Jealousy is a problem with woman in general. I have dealt with this for many years. It really wears on one’s patience. To the point that no matter what you do to prove that you are an honorable person and they are still jealous can make you think what did this person go through to be this way. The answer is that is the way they are and you will need to deal with it gracefully if you want that relationship to continue.
Greetings: All relationships (interaction) is based on Mind. soul and body; 1, 2 or all 3 being the best case scenario. Myself, I seek all 3 in that order. I define and inform up front.
Proper culture and home training contribute 2 the better of such. Trust is form of respect. Respect learned by culture and home training. Such is not normal practice in 2day's society. Lack of home training I figure. As such most close personal social relationships do not survive. Bottom line - reciprocate respect and love.

Wow ... didn't know it was that serious ... talked to one girl in the Philippines for 3 months and suddenly she started claiming that I'm cheating on her ... I assured her that it wasn't true ... but as the next 3 months went by the accusations of cheating by her got worse and worse ... she even began teaching me lessons by refusing to talk to me for a week ...
Eventually I just got tired of being accused of something that wasn't true ... I decided that she is obviously crazy and massively insecure and I don't want a relationship with an immature insecure person ... even though she was 37 ...
So I told her that I was tired of being accused, that I thought she was very immature and insecure and I don't want a relationship like that I blocked her and cut her off on everything and never spoke to her again ...
I went 6 months without speaking to or dating anyone ... before beginning a search again for a more mature girl ...
Now I feel kinda bad ... I didn't know jealousy was such an ingrained cultural trait ... I thought she was just a crazy one that I had found ....😒

"must deal with" I respectfully disagree. The jealousy is like dealing with a 13 year old and I outgrew that decades ago. Yep, I had the hottest blue eyed gf in my early 30s, but she was so insecure that she wanted to be with me 27/7. As beautiful as she was, it was too much. We lived together and worked together, plus she had issues if I ever even tried to hang out with the guys. It sucked that we could not make it work, bc she was an awesome tough woman, but her insecurity was just too much.
Mike, I take it that the lack of jealousy is cause for alarm. The worst is that she does not care about you, and the 2nd thing is that she has been westernized. The 2nd is cause for concern but is not as bad as the 1st.

Saving Face = an EXCUSE TO LIE and not be accountable for ones actions. I think saving face is more about embarrassing someone in front of others. Everyone talks of respect but don't know what it is, they just know when they're not getting it. You get what you give, if you want respect you have to give it, and respect is EARNED through your actions.
A LITTLE jealousy is OK, it shows she cares, but when it gets to where he can't touch his phone or walk out the door without being interrogated, it has crossed the line into psycho territory. The jealousy comes from insecurity. Wanting to invade personal space, goes back to insecurities and shows a lack of TRUST, and without trust you have nothing. The constant need for affirmation because of those insecurities gets EXHAUSTING, and will take away the PEACE and happiness.

It is because of the competitive nature of humans. We are searching for our best mate to pass on our DNA.

Great vlog. Your point about disrespecting a Filipino/guy is not what one wants to do. Just be polite and walk away. We are guests here, and if we want to continue to live in the Philippines, just walk away.
As for the Filipinas. If they don't trust me, I'm done with them. I let them know this upfront that if they can not trust me, then we are done. It's that simple. There are many, many Filipinas and they have many ex-pats to choose from. I would rather be single than live with a jealous Filipina. This is a business relationship. Young Filipinas are not stupid. They are with us for a reason. We hold the golden ticket for them when we pass away. They need to realize this, or the door is open for them to leave. That's my opinion!

Two great points, Mike..I appreciate your wisdom..I have had several LDR's and learned lots...Thank God, I am too old and sick(at 73) to travel there...My friends there warned me about the "through-the-roof" specialized medical treatment...If one has a heart attack or seizure, being 2-4 hours away and NO ambulance/EMT help is a sure-fire "death wish" !!

Just retired at 65 and only intend to be a yearly 100% Renting Snow Bird in southern P.I. near Cebu City with motorcycle for 3 to 4 months, Jan-Apr.; so getting Married (Catholic, civil divorced) in P.I. is NEVER EVER going to happen! I would DATE ... but that's it. She is welcome to visit me here in US for a couple weeks on her summer vacation, but bringing a Filipina back to USA TO LIVE FT in NYC area away from her family is Total Madness. As a former Big 10'er my only problem with Trouble in P.I. would come from BUCKEYE Fans ... WE ARE

I'm just a NYC Snow Bird looking to fish, sail, jet ski, swim, snorkel, ride motorcycles, take in Festivals, Shows, Concerts and Tours all while renting 1st class full service Hotels, Resorts, Condos and Hillside Villas for 4 months every Winter as a Vacation life style, all for 50%+less the costs of much closer USVI/Caribbean.
