Mini Clubman barn door manual release

Here’s a very quick video to explain how to manually open the port side barn door on a 2008 Mini Clubman (R55 model). The electronics on mine have failed in some way, but searching for the initial solution was very difficult!
There are videos of half an hour to explain things in more detail, but getting the door open is the ticket to being able to find out what is wrong and how to fix…
On a saloon Mini, and some other Minis, there’s a ring pull under the rear seat that does the same job.

On some models, the manual door release is a ring pull under the back seat, lifting the seat from the front. I fixed my door by resoldering a dodgy connector under the rear door card, a two cable wire coming from the button on the handle.

@@132mikey123 I had it repaired and it cost me 150 euros with the mechanism, the mechanic did it in 3 steps, 3 movements, very quickly.... he tore off the rear panel and opened it with a hook.. ...finally it's very easy

I have a 2009 mini clubman s and it does not have that. How can I open the left door ?

The ring pull for the door is on some models under the back seat. Lift the seat from the front and you might see it..
I fixed mine: it was a shot wiring connector under the barn door card. I just directly soldered the cables together and it now works fine
