@@ccbgaming6994 Yes indeed, I would still call MJ the GOAT. You need to put conditions of the individual performances to the reality of that period and circumstances. Even if a player would not win a single championship but his individual performance is the best ever that person would potentially still be the GOAT. The issue here is he was way better than the best of his era, he was and still is the most creative player ever and I do not believe there will be a more creative player ever. Wembanyama can and most probably will beat everyone in statistics at the end of his career, but put a Kenny lofton JR against him, he will struggle. That was not the case with MJ they threw everything possible at him in his era he still outclassed them all by a mile.

The reason Lebron will never be seen as better than MJ is because of Phil Jackson. Spoelstra was a great coach but he's no Phil Jackson and Tyron Lue, at times, looks like he has no idea what he was doing. Lebron has had to continually lead his team basically by himself to the finals where the other teams are way better than any team MJ ever faced. The Warriors and the Spurs are two of the best teams ever. The Spurs won four championships together and (without even counting the one Duncan won in 99) and the warriors own the best record of all time, before they even got Durant, who will end up being, at least, at top 20 player of all time and is probably a better scorer than MJ. Lebron has had to deal with better team than MJ ever had to face and it's because Jordan had a good coach and a good organization where Lebron has had pretty bad ones. If Pat Riley had coached the heat instead of Spoelstra, not only would Lebron still be there, but I have no doubt he would have seven straight finals and be considered the best player of all time.

Jordan played 14 seasons one of which was limited due to a broken foot. That was his sophomore season which could have been one of his greatest. We'll never know. He retired three times, two of which came after threepeats. When he returned as player owner of Washington he wasn't in playing shape and those last seasons hurt his averages. Until then he had been a .500 FG shooter. Besides Bird I never saw anyone as clutch as Jordan. He willed victory and battled against failure every second on that court. When you watched Jordan you got the best of him and when someone disrespected him you got even better. He was the most competitive player I ever saw. Kobe got up early and did everything right but Jordan did it better. LeBron is a great player but LeBron took 20 years to pass Kareem and due to his starting at 19 and not getting injured he has caught the scoring record. Kareem though was over 7 foot tall and his last seasons in the league were plagued with injuries often accompanying tall athletes. Jordan was on pace to beat Kareem's record had he played longer and would have done it statistically speaking in less seasons. We can continue on the if's and but's but honestly LeBron has had a great career and deserves all the recognition in the world. However he's not the G.O.A.T. He's not even my first pick for Small Forward if I could draft an all-time greats team. I don't even consider him in the top five. In my humble opinion one could make the case that unlike LeBron, Russell, Jordan, Bird, and Magic all made their teammates better. Not just better but great. One could also make the case for Kareem and Wilt being those once in a lifetime athletes they were on a scale that in their primes no one person could have played them head to head except perhaps each other. As Centers inside that area near the basket where they played and posted up, Kareem and Wilt along with Shaq and Russell are four of the best to ever play that position. There are others who get a notable mention but those four dominated defensively and for the most part offensively. Bird and Magic were something special and the rivalry and friendship they shared saved the league in the 80's. Jerry West and Oscar Robertson also are incredible throwbacks to a bygone era. Here's a little reality for you, Charles Barkley was a better shooter than Kobe Bryant and his stats are comparable with LeBron's. The next time someone says LeBron is the G.O.A.T. ask them is he the greatest dribbler? They'll say no and mention someone like A I. Ask them is he the greatest shooter? They'll say no and mention someone like Bird or Curry. Ask them was he the greatest defensive player? They'll say Russell or Rodman or Olajuwon or perhaps someone else. Ask them was he the greatest facilitator who carried the ball down and set up plays and ran the court? They'll mention Pippen and a dozen other players but everyone will come back to Magic Johnson and agree Magic was far and away better than anyone else with the exception of maybe Bird who was pretty darn good himself. They might mention Stockton too. LeBron will get a notable mention here but that's as far as that will go. In the end it's the fact he kicked the ball off to someone else after choking in the clutch early on in his career that is the biggest criticism I've heard from most fans. I agree with them. Robert Horry has 7 rings and that doesn't make him better than LeBron or Jordan but there is something to be said when you don't win several times after you get to the finals. Jordan played 13 years in which he could have won a title. He didn't have a good team behind him of the right support players until they got Scottie and started acquiring other players so yeah early on the great teams of the Celtics, Pistons, and Lakers beat those Jordan lead teams but once he got his crew together no one beat them and Shannon you putz, there were great players in the league at that time besides Jordan. He just dominated them to the point you don't respect them for who they were.

I've been saying, there's just a different admiration, respect and charisma when a player wins several championship with his original team or with 1 team. MJ was good, if not great when he was a rookie, Pippen and the rest who joined MJ as a rookie wasn't as good or great when they started. They all were pushed, inspired, bullied by MJ to get better and they got better as a team. LBJ, joined an already established great champion and an already established great player in D. Wade when he won his ring, then he also joined an already established great player in Kyrie Irving. LBJ hasn't won a ring where he helped the team grow and developed as a unit. It was always enhanced through adding other great superstars. Granted, MJ's 2nd 3peat was something similar when they added Rodman, but they were aging already at that time. Remove MJ on his 1st 3peat Bulls and remove LBJ on his Miami championship team, who do you guys think would win in that series if they play against each other? I'm pretty sure most of you would pick D.Wade & Bosh's Miami, over Pip & Grant's Bulls. Point is, Wade and Bosh was already stars, Wade was already a proven champion when LBJ won with Miami, while Pip only developed into a superstar within the Bulls

Agree with Rapaport's analysis. But the one thing I wish he had mentioned was Jordan's obsessive drive to win with the hand he was dealt. With the exception of only 4 starter players (Rodman, Longley Cartwright and Harper) on both 3 peat teams, everyone was home grown. And of those free agent/received starters, with the exception of Rodman, no one was an All-Star or exceptional at their position. Most were drafted by the Bulls. He didn't hop around looking for a super team. He took what he got and made every single player on his roster better. He didn't just make the team better with some arbitrary stat. He made every player on the roster pick up more than they could carry by scrimmaging with them, teaching them and testing them to be the best that they could be. James has never done that. His championships were won with made men: Wade, Bosh, Irving, Love and now with Davis. Bottomline: James finds (or receives) the pieces to win championships. Jordan grooms his pieces to win championships. Jordan= The GOAT

Dario Jugović Kobe averaged 23 against Dallas while Lebron only averaged 17 4 straight 4th quarters with 2 points or less. 2011 NBA finals
Lebron was third on the team in scoring, committed 24 total turnovers, and only shot 60% from the free throw line. His Game Score total was a lackluster 13.7 - showing that is overall productivity throughout the series was a bit over average

You ain't never seen Michael Jordan score 8 pts in the Finals, Shannon. You ain't never seen MJ shoot 13 shots in a Finals game, Shannon. You ain't never seen MJ disappear in the Finals! I think that's enough said. There's a lot of great players. LeBron is amazing. But the "little" things make the difference, greatness is in those "little" things. A 2011 Finals perfomance like that - it's one of those little things that makes it impossible to call LBJ the GOAT.
PS You talkin about Jordan playing with an all-star ? LeBron went to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh......... Are you serious ?

When you're playing basketball with the homies, you yell out "Kobe!" during a jump shot or "Jordan!" when you dunk. I've never heard peeps say "LeBron!", cause they FLOPPED on the park cement.

Shannon insisted. Jordan was not afraid of risk. He was sure of himself thats his greatness, he knew he was the best, and lebron does not have this confidence in himself and this is the difference. Everyone talks about how Lobron has done so much for the black community, I think Jordan has done so much more with the game itself. Europe and whole world loves nba because of him

It's really that simple. I mean, this whole MJ vs LeBron is silly. Silly might not be an apt word to describe it, but you get my point. LeBron's LeBron. Okay, he might not surpass MJ in terms of rings, but his career should be highly appreciated. His longevity, outspokenness, pass-first mannerism, is another realm. Plus, with that much scrutiny, he lived up to the expectation. We will have to wait for years to have this kind of talent.

Jordan won 3 in a row then his Dad was murdered. He took 2 years off. Then came back and won 3 more in a row. He would’ve won 8 in a row. Yes, would’ve blown out Hakeem. 8 in a row. EASY
    Edit:
I need to add THIS. Not only would he have won 8 in a ROW, if stupid Jerry Krause (well I shouldn’t call him stupid, he’s dead), but if less than intelligent at the time Jerry Krause had not allowed the great Dynasty to be broken up, Jordan and Co. would’ve won 10+ in a ROW. Like , I’m sure 10, but maybe 12 to 13 or 14.........what if’s........
