For a little context, the gun that Saw uses was seen briefly in Jedi: Fallen Order during the first time you visit Kashyyyk and when you are driving the AT-AT
Was originally going to pass but I actually did a complete 180 on this figure. It's one of the most complex looking Black Series figures! So many extra bits, straps, armor, translucent tubes, the breathing apparatus thing, prosthetic foot, sandal, etc. Fantastic head sculpt and photo-real. As far as the deluxe thing I think it's the same thing with Cobb Vanth. Just a good 1/12 Star Wars figure. Although I'd say Saw is more worthy than Cobb since he's a new sculpt. Mezco, Bandai, SHF, Mafex etc. none of them are going to do a Saw. Thanks for the review! -Justin

I love this figure. One of the best headsculpts. So freaking accurate too. Awesome.
I totally get the gripes with the price - everything is just too expensive these days and with the deluxes in particular I don't think it's just that - but with that said this is absolutely one of the best figures Hasbro has released. Ultimately the price I paid for him is sill within the range where I believe I get my money's worth, but that margin is quickly closing all the same.
I totally get it and I also like this figure but for me it's more of the why with these deluxe figures. Hasbro hasn't really given us a good reason for the deluxe pricing, with Saw I don't feel like we're really getting that much extra plastic. And the deluxe Boba Fetts and Cobb Vanth were a slap in the face. But then I got my Nalan Cheel today and it's awesome. Tons of display options with all the band instruments.

Always check the Target app before checking out. Saw was cheaper on the app and the cashier is able to price match. I notice this a lot with Target.

That’s usually how it is you don’t find anything in your own stores you usually shop at but a different one you find something cool
I know it's all so that they can reuse it to make more money, but if they're making us pay deluxe pricing, they really should have included the bald head too.
I'm glad you pointed out the price. I'm a very casual Star Wars fan, and the price increase means I just stick to a few jedi every now and then, some Mandalorian-related stuff and clone troopers. And even then, I'm very picky.
The price is just a big barrier to entry when, for a bit less, I could some Masterverse stuff that fits into other displays or some McFarlane stuff, which have designs I'm a lot more into. And with a bit less than double what a deluxe Black Series costs, I could get an import figure. Instead of getting a bacon cheeseburger, I'm either gonna go for a bacon cheeseburger with slightly different ingredients or a super mega burger :)
He will be re-released several times. A bald variant, gaming greats variant, archive line release, etc.

Now this is a figure i would buy!! I always thought he looked cool as a figure for the 3inch line.
Love this figure, went to my local target because it said it was in stock, website lied. So I nabbed him from the target website instead.
The price hike from Hasbro is why I'm done, atleast for now, with black series. That Kenobi Jawa, 33? Galen erso with only a card with the codes, 25? Compared to MOTU, Mcfarlane toys and GI Joes. Doesn't make sense. I'm good.
I give Hasbro credit for the details, "the junk"... hahaha... the breathing tubes and straps and all that small plastics.
And regarding the prices, I am sure if we can look behind the scene, Star Wars can ask for more money/larger cut than Master Of The Universe. Star Wars started the action figure trend we know and love.
And you can take the shoulder/chest padding off!?! How come they did not do that for GI Joe Firefly and the bomb jacket?

I just got Saw, Obi Wan and 5th Brother this last weekend at target and all 3 are great figures. The Saw figure is fantastic, he looks like a mini human. To me he was worth the 34 bucks just because he looks and moves so well. (Though he could have gotten a few more accessories.) I hope they go back and rework the other Rogue One sculls because Bodhi and Saw are so good!!!
I pre ordered this months ago from hasbro pulse. Haven’t gotten around to opening him yet.
You know. I have done a 180 on the need for screen accuracy thing. It’s nice but honestly I just want a fun action figure. I also want one that doesn’t cut corners especially if it costs more. I’m also done with having to have them all. If they make me happy on my shelf or posing around then I’m good paying the extra.Saw is a good toy. Wish his arms reached his face better with the breathing mask. But I like the look, accessories, sculpt and paint even if it looks more clean. I’m good. But they can definitely use this sculpt again for Fallen order, Clone Wars/Bad Batch…I don’t have to buy it.
At this point you just can't justify it anymore. The only reason this is at a deluxe price point is because Hasbro knows people will pay it. That's it. It's not because of extra paint apps or accessories or even because that price point is for overly large characters. It's just because they can. They're ripping you off.

This is bit nerdy but in the part with saw in the bunker he had two robot legs and had grey in his hair so this maybe be his younger look when he finds young Jynn 🤷(just case u want a excuse for dynamic posing) great figure, great review and a great idea about raising the head
I like it when the figures are "clean", after all the characters will eventually wash their stuff I guess, so it's not unrealistic IMO. This figure is awesome btw, I would just like it better if the cape was made of fabric.

I had snagged 2 Saws and 2 Teekas but the person wanting the extras didn't end up needing them, so I returned the both... The sticker shock for me was getting $60 back for the 2 figures...yeah the scaling back is just continuing for me

Robo, the cape is actually removable it's on another ball joint at the top of that clip thing that hangs down
Great review as always Robo and nice figure BUT (keeping in mind Star Wars IS/WAS my jam as well, being born in 1973) I paid full price for Wrecker (now $17.90 at Dorksides toys), got my Hunter/ Crosshair canceled, and all the other delays and excessive price hikes have resulted in me deciding to give Star Wars Black series the big 🖕. And guess whose getting my money now? MOTU Revelations (LOL), McFarlane DC Multiverse and a few others. It's unfortunate because I love this line. Star Wars will always have a special place in my heart (and I may cherry pick some BS figures from time to time) but it's time to move on. OK, that was my rant, thank you! 😊

I do think it’s a nice looking figure, but I’m not sure I’ll be getting it. If I do I might have to model and print a longer dumbbell for the neck. I did it to swap out the Clone Wars Anakin head with the ROTS version’s. I’d have to do it again lol
I like the armor a lot and it is 12 Euros right now at Amazon but I know nothing about Star Wars.

These prices have made led to me purchasing fewer and fewer Black Series.
Looks astonishing. Shame the price is too. Adverised as £33-£40 here in the UK. Great as it is that's too high for me.

sometimes "more plastic for your buck" doesn't translate to a better figure, just look at a lot of the McFarlane figures, he says that a lot and his stuff is hit or miss with more miss than anything
And that's why I said "from a purely consumer standpoint" Not a collector, not a reviewer, just someone standing in the toy aisle looking at boxes. Plus your example is based on your own opinion, there's lot of collectors who prefer McFarlane's figures.
