NAME, profession,
Profession NAME
please do you have any acronym for remembering it
Nkiru, thank you for the suggestions. Usually, acronyms work best when you create it yourself. But let me give it a shot. I'll send a quick video.

Is there any tips for off setting commas between adjective and when not to?
Hey I have a question. I'm going to take the SAT this year for the first time. I wanted to ask if is good to buy a 2021 SAT prep book over a 2020, whats the difference?
ı really like your videos; they`re pretty helpful.
berin jankeez nice! I’m glad
nice
Hii , firstly, thankyou.
This video is really helpful because I did two question wrong which were based on this rule.
Profession+name....Or name, profession,...
this is quite helpful, but has a lot of exceptions. i am currently very stuck on this topic ( and very frustrated cause seems like everyone else finds it easy ). as far as i understand this approach work only for careers/occupation/roles and doesn't necessarily on titles, and in cases with more than one person. this is so confusing 😭
@Katya udemy kurslarına Türkçe altyazı ekleyebilir misiniz?
I thought the classifier surrounding whether you put commas around a name is whether the information given about a person is specific to that person or not. Like My best friend, Stacy, got me some ice cream. vs. My friend Stacy got me some ice cream. Since you can only have one best friend then that info is specific to Stacy, hence commas. And Vice Versa with My friend because you likely have more than one friend.
Question for ya! If I wrote "My granduncle Harvey invited my aunt Bridget and her eldest son John to stay with him for a week," is this correct?
whenever this type of question comes i used to choose the random answer lol, now its more clear now its beginning to make sense as ESL student
Awesome! There is a bit more to it. I’ll make another evidence in October
If you have Erica Meltzer’s book, check out Chapter 9 (essential and non essential clauses)
Hello
I have been putting of studying grammar rules ? Do you have any tips to make it more interesting ?
Rushna! Personally, I don’t have this issue. Studying grammar involves reading passages and I get carried away☺️ reading about Conan Doyle writing Sherlock Holmes; reading about Clever Birds; park rangers; social reforms, etc. Additionally, all my knowledge about environment problems and recycling comes from reading SAT writing passages. 🤣 If you practice on real SAT passages and give your mind a mental command to be interested, it’ll be a lot more fun😉 hope that helps!
Thank you, do these type of questions show up on the test?
Oh, yes! I've used examples from the real SAT. You may see a question or two like this on the SAT
Hello, your video has created more confussion in my understanding. I was searching to get a clarity wether we put within, , the position of the person or the Name and what suppose to come first, but your video describing not to use comma if designation follows the name. I haven't seen it as on the offical documents written like this. What is the correct rule, i am still confuse, could you please help me out?
Allah razı olsun
What if the word "the" is used before the profession, therefore, allowing the profession to stand on its own?
Like: The geologist, Lukas Harber, left the room.
Should you place commas around Lukas Harber or no?
Hey Mike, it is a bit advanced. It the description is pointing to only one geologist, then use commas. Otherwise, no commas
Hello Ms. Seberson. Thank you for the quick answer, if possible I'd like to ask about something else:
I'm a bit confused about the pointing thing, though I also read about it on Meltzer's. How do we determine if its pointing to one thing and not multiple. In this example - to me - it seems like its a clear example of one geologist since he is "the" geologist. Is this correct?
Also, what about an example using a/an
"A priest George Lucas entered the room" I don't know if this is even a proper sentence, my apologies.
Thanks!

This rule is mentioned in the explanations in UWORLD that the name (proper nouns with capital letters) need not be separated using commas
Great observation, but the order is important ✅
I think this video is Wrong.
ACT 1460E, Q47, the correct answer is listed as "college student, NAME, ...."
