    Whenever this kind of questions appeared on SAT, I thought It required a good sense of English. Now it is so clear and easy. Thanks!

      Lizi lomtadze and as it turns out no ‘deep’ sense of English is required. Just a dangling modifier rule

      1. you only need one apostrophe for “didn’t”
      2. after “didn’t”, there must be present tense which is “find” in this case.
      3. in this sentence, it is more suitable to say “any” than “a” but if you insist, you must have “an” before “AEIOU” letters.
      4. “than” is not suitable here because it is used in comparing two different things. in this case, you are not comparing but you are listing series of event, which makes sense if you use “then” as it lists events.

    Growing up, it blah blah blah (instead of Growing up, i/you/he/we/they blah blah). As a blah blah, it is / it was blah blah(instead of As a blah blah, i/you/he blah blah) . Usually such phrases are uttered by US residents of somewhat tender age and "entitled" mental capacity. It always irks me to experience such dangling modifiers written or spoken.

    • @KatyaTutorSAT
      @KatyaTutorSAT  Před 2 lety +1

      Dangling modifiers mostly exist in written speech and not in spoken speech. You are correct, when used in spoken speech, dangling modifiers sound very unnatural.

    • @anonymator
      @anonymator Před 2 lety +1

      @@KatyaTutorSAT If someone compiles some kind of written formal speech to a certain group and then reads this said monologue, this would be the case of a potential spoken dangling modifier. In day to day chats it doesn't occur, I agree.
