  • The most mast produced vehicle ever, can we get my $50, 1964 Honda 50 Super Cub running with gas and just a pinch of elbow grease?

One hell of a bargain deal on a great iconic bike. Fix it up right and modify it a bit and you’ll never want to get rid of it. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍👍

Of course it will run. My scooter, Honda PCX 125cc, was parked up for 4 months, outside, over winter. Started first turn of the key when I got it back. Honda's are so reliable.

Great job man!!! I had one as my first bike. I paid 35 bucks back in 1982. Mine was a 1965 though. Great Video

That thing is so fucking cool now me personally, I would definitely put new tires on it and a new gas tank because it had rust on the inside and I would put a regular size sprocket on the back because I would want to get as much meat as I possibly could out of that thing And even with that it would be too slow for my purposes I have a Honda cub 125 and for my roads I wouldn’t want it to be any slower than that but I could take that one to work but yeah dude that thing is so damn cool man and I’m sure it’s worth the 50 bucks I will also get a new spark plug do a full oil change and I would want to put directionals on it replace the lights if I could with LED and I would definitely wanna clean it up and paint it up. And I would also definitely put a new chain on there.

I found one today, that's what brought me here. Confusing deal, he said it was a 1960, but had a 1965 manual. The engine is off the frame. I'm still thinking about it. I still have my 1969 Honda QA-50 and it still runs.

If it’s a good deal buy it. They are a ton of fun and build like tanks!

@@rrrestorations5047 $100, but scored piston and jug. He said it was a 50cc but it looks bigger. I have access to a 100cc Honda chi-clone engine free. I might go tomorrow. I remember the later step thru and trail 90 hi/low trans bikes, I also had an XL350. Torque monster deluxe!

Thanks for putting this on You Tube.
Of all motorcycles ever built ever, the noise of the Honda C100 was the model that hit me between the ears!
They sounded so awful (don't take it the wrong way) that I couldn't ignore them.
In fact, I took pleasure hearing a Honda 50 C100 whenever one came into view.
Though not a motorcycle enthusiast, I think this original version of the Honda 50 is the most interesting of all motorcycles ever made.

Yes not only most reliable, but most produced. They have been in continuous production since 1958 and Honda has made 140,000,000 of them. They make thousands per day and the cub is on backorder!

I bet that goes 15 mph tops with that sprocket lol dam that’s big . Mine did 40 max wide open on hills like 20 if I was lucky but she ran great I wish I kept her an did the engine up lil bit

that's a huge key and sprocket. I just wanted to say thanks for making this video. I also have a 64 cub, it has electric start, I spent a few hours trying to get it to run this weekend. Motor is free, has compression (finger test), no battery, and a weak spark. I haven't tried pulling the carb and spraying it with starter fluid like you did on yours. I also need to adjust the tappet clearance like you did (thanks for that). what size gauge did you use for that? Im planning on ordering a 6v motobatt battery for it. It would be great if you put up more videos on this bike. Im subscribing to your channel in hope that you will.

Great job getting it started. I have a '64 C100, and want to ask anyone who knows about connecting the battery--does you know where it's supposed to ground? There was a black ground wire attached somewhere that I had been connecting to the battery, but it came off when I was removing the battery last week and now I have no idea where it's supposed to go. There is also a blue wire that has a male end that has never been connected to anything, but looking at the schematic, it appears it might be what I should connect the ground from the battery--I don't want to make a mistake and burn something out--any help is greatly appreciated.

      @James-kd7dc Před 7 měsíci +1

The ground wire from the battery should have an eyelet which bolts directly to the frame. It's the bolt just to the left of the bolt which holds the battery clamp.

The sprocket looks like one from a honda ct105 (build not too far from this motorcycle) so my guess is:the bike uses some parts of rhe honda ct105 or it itself is the ct105 just has been modified to look like a c50

If your going for lights on this. Buy a battery. The battery acts as a shunt....someplace where all the magic pixies go.
If you don't have a battery, the charging system will pop all the bulbs.
The carb on this is worth a couple hundred dollars.
It's the only thing that kept me from an original engine. (I went chinese aftermarket engine set up) after I found out how much a used carb cost.
    sweet bike

I Hope you can help me to hear my C105 run likes yours . Unfortunately I can't get a spark, Coil is fine new condenser and points . I took off the stator plate and somehow when even the points are open I still get a continuity wires are not pinched when I di-soder the main stator and take it off and it has less the 5 ohm on the windings what else can I do what is the when the points are open still continuity?
    Thanks

I would check the magnet on the flywheel to see if it is cracked. Go through the whole system again and double check each wire to make sure it isn’t grounding out on the engine.

what is it with people using a kickstarter like a fool ... you're just tearing it down that way. push it down gently and kick it when it it at it's point of compression :)

  • @thatoneguythatlikesship

My dad had one too but the engine sounds a lot more noisy 😬 because it hasn't been fired up for lotta years, nice video btw!
