    I stopped with the hit or miss turbo feed oil restrictors in favor of the TurboSmart OPR that feeds a very steady 40psi of oil pressure to the ball bearing Turbo regardless of rpm. I also use there inline oil filter as well. The TurboSmart OPR may have not been released yet when this video was released.

    • @GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE
      @GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE  Před rokem

      Restrictors themselves aren’t really hit or miss; it’s people not knowing if they “need one” or not while understanding what causes “smoking/oil related issues” that is hit or miss. I sell and use the Turbosmart regulator as well; it’s great for certain apps...and totally unnecessary for others.

    Hello I like to say I like your videos. I have a 1987 mercedes 300d turbo diesel
    With the garrett turbo. I really want to get a new turbo to put on my car. Do you know if there is a turbo that doesn't require allot of modification.
    Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Robert

    I have a quick question. I currently own a Precision 5858 SP BB .82 A/R turbo, and wanted to know which oil feed would I purchase for this specific turbo, and will it need a restrictor for it? Please let me know. Thanks. Appreciate the reply. If you could also post the link so I can purchase the appropriate oil feed kit for my turbo. Thanks.

      Hello, that turbo would use our Pro Oil Kit/T3. It uses a -3 feed, 10AN drain. In most cases a restrictor is not needed here as long as you have proper drainage and am ple crank case ventilation www.go-autoworks-store.com/gotrblprooil.html

    Was the 60 series c15 64/65 only journal bearing?
    Was there a ball bearing option?

    Jay's tech tips states don't go smaller then -4 on the oil feed to the Turbo. You say -3? I need to know who is correct? Also if I may ask I have a GT3582r duel ceramic ball bearing Turbo from ebay. It appears to be a nock off of the precision 6266 unit. Do I use a oil restricter? or not?

      @GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE  Před 4 lety +1

      Luis Padilla you can add Teflon tape or paste to the straight cut/npt side of a fitting. You don’t want to add any type of sealant to the AN/flared side of a fitting

    @JPTinioMedia Před 3 lety

    I can't seem to find info on it but xona rotors new variable preload ball bearing doesn't mention anything about oil restrictors and uses oil pressure for it to operate, you don't need an oil restrictor for their new line of turbo? They don't have a contact page

    I have a question about oil feed size. I have a t3/t4 t04e turbo. It’s an eBay unit, but it’s journal bearing. I’ve seen a lot of -4an feeds but I heard you say -3an feed. Is there a best or better? This is my first iron set up and I don’t want to fry the turbo. Thanks brother!

      @GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE  Před 5 lety +1

      -3 would be ideal here...especially on an eBay unit that would be more prone to leakage. I would suggest swapping the feed size to -3AN, having a clear path oil drain, and using a catch can app to help vent the motor.
