    Welcome back! With all the wires assigned in the NSP software, Dave sets out to to wire the whole car. We will be using a slightly modified factory engine loom which will connect to a Haltech universal wiring harness. It's a big job which, apart from the usual engine components also includes all lights, fans, a whole bunch of sensors for speed, shock travel, brake pressure, transmission and even a reverse camera. Once everything is wired up we add an iC-7 dash and a CAN Keypad.

    This system is next level, I love the way you can break it up into sub harnesses all coming back to one point. As an industrial electrician who has spent a lot of time working on electric passenger trains this way of thinking makes installation & faultfinding so much easier and more importantly makes the occurrence of faults less likely in the first place.

    I was really hoping for another wiring vlog. But the product speaks for itself. Keep it up guys, that’s an awesome vcu you’ve built. It’s company’s like haltech that prove “made in Australia” really means something. 👍

    thank you so much for these videos. I'm for sure going to watch the wiring series he mentioned a few times. I'm in the beginning stage of a from scratch build and wiring is so overwhelming. I've decided I'm not settling for less than the best and going with the NEXUS

    This is a great new product to meet some new technologies.
    I enjoy watching both of you guys working together.
    I would make a second engine wiring loom for his backup engine. With your bulkhead fittings it would cut a bunch of time doing an engine change.

    Hi guys, watched this last night and really helped me get my head around what i'll be looking at with my new Nexus. Cant wait to get hold of it and start, hopefully backorders are not too far off. Great work and product, the IC7 functions and customisation have blown my mind.

      We are doing our best to get all the backorders out as soon as possible. From our end it's great that demand for a product exceeds our expectations but yeah, we understand it doesn't help someone anxiously waiting for their order to arrive.

    Are you still able to use the IO expander modules with the Nexus? I'm not knocking the CAN keypads, what if I wanted to use a factory window switch or other factory item over CAN bus?

    Is the power delivery and/or fuses in the Nexus on replaceable daughter boards?

    • @Mr_jz_12
      @Mr_jz_12 Před 4 lety

      the "fuses" are solid state fuses if that makes sense. I have no idea on the technical terms, i just remember them saying that in the last video, or one of their other videos on this unit.

    • @harambeexpress
      @harambeexpress Před 4 lety +1

      @@Mr_jz_12 yeah I thought I heard that in the last video. I'm not sure if it's possible to blow those - as opposed to just tripping them.

    • @robmotown1
      @robmotown1 Před 3 lety

      HashTagRealName I think they would be solid state relays rated at about 40amps....The only thing that trips the power is current sensing in the software!!! So in short....there are no fuses. The solid state relays can fail but at 25amps will be ok for a long time. If they do fail....I would say it's a soldering job! Just my opinion!!! But probably close to being dead on!!!
