- Known for its beautiful blue skin and contrasting yellow spines this blue columnar cactus is definitely one for the collection. They do have a little bit of a specific care routine compared to other cacti out there. Be sure to watch the entire video so that you can keep your plant thriving for years to come. Plant prudently!

Very informative thank you!
I've had a Pilosocereus about 13 years, it was ignored by me for several of them but it still seems to be in very good health. I repotted this year and it's grown about 6 inches this summer. It's standing at around 2 ft tall currently 💙💚🌵
A pair of kitchen tongs work great 4 me when doing cacti repotting.
Great job, great information, keep up the good work, love your videos 👍
WHERE ARE YOU?!?!!!??? I've been looking???
🎉❤ Excellent
We are an artist specialized in the world of cactus 🌵
I have 3 of those in a pot together. The blue has really come out since putting them out in the sun.
Wow that's cool. Are all three the same species? I'm wanting to get a P. leucocephalus woolly torch for my next one.
Lucky, Lucky, LUCKY you ... three together in ONE pot truly does make a magnificent display. You have very good taste my friend. I wish I could see yours.

I do have 2 of those cacti. The problem is that they are really small. I have not been able to find any cacti or euphorbia that has any height to it. Gorgeous cactus.
Check out euphorbia ingens chocolate drop cactus. I had one several years ago that I got from home depot and it was over a foot tall when I bought it for like 20 bucks. I had it over three years before someone stole it out of my yard. It was almost two feet tall when I lost him. I also want another blue columnar next. I want the P. leucocephalus woolly torch.
Wow! That's a big one Justin lol Always enjoy watching your videos, interesting and, informative. Where do you keep it?
Thank you! At last measurement he was almost 14 inches. I'm glad you enjoyed my video. There is not too much you can say about a cactus except it likes sunlight, and don't give it much water. lol. I think I struggled at the end and started rambling and repeating myself. Oh well. I love the cactus though. He's one of my favorites for sure. I got him on my front porch where he gets a good south east exposure. I don't like giving him light all day. He prefers plenty of sunlight in the morning and a little rest during the hottest part of the day.
@@TheGreenAlchemist He looks impressive 😃 How big was he when you first got him? My house mate has cacti but, they are only small, although he does have a Euphorbia Trigona Rubra, which is 4ft. I am more into CPs particularly Sarracenia, although like yourself I do have pings, also a few VFTs. You are always so enthusiastic about your plants, so thank you for sharing your interest.
What is purpose of trimming roots & what happens if you don’t?
Can you make a video about what to do when your cactus has a hole in it? My blue baby cactus has a hole in it and i’m not sure why... it is winter here in Iowa, also need tips on what to do during the cold winter 🥶
Could you take some pictures for me? Email is ytgreenalchemist@gmail.com or at insta ytgreenalchemist. Here in northern Kentucky during winters I bring my cacti in and sit them under my full spectrum LED grow lights. If you're interested in what grow lights I normally use I put a link in the description box for every video. They help tremendously and they're cheap and cheap to run too!
apple cactus and blue wing
Thku guy
I just bought two 3ft cacti for $80 each. Pretty by pricey.
😘😘😘
Did he take those from biodome?
How big is the pot 10 inches ?
8 in.
7:34 is really hot if you pause the video.
😂
Your should have mixed in your POROUS bonsai mix FIRST. Look for videos on CZcams that talk about how water moves through layers of soil. They will have a serious impact on how you design YOUR growing medium. I use a 90-93% inorganic soil mix with 7-10% pine bark. MOST cacti seem to have a rather queer affinity for pine bark. Although if we TRULY LOVE our cacti, then we TRULY need to pay attention to the kind of soil in which they grow, when growing in their NATURAL environment. I also use a low #'s balanced fertilizer (Dyna-Gro Orchid Pro 7-8-6) EVERY time I water. You would not believe how fast you can make these things grow. Trying ta' help!!!
I had a geology class in college that talked about how water moves on the ground and what affects it once it goes below ground. Very interesting stuff. I'll try and look it up on here too. Thanks for the suggestions! Let me know if there is a video in particular or an influencer I should check out.
Calm down
I get so sick of you calling soil, substrate. It is very annoying. Otherwise, I like your videos.
Lol, I'm sorry. Check it out under Merriam Webster though. It says I'm right. Thanks for watching though!
Soil is substrate. 🤦🏻♂️
