I wish they’d make Goofy a Captain too! We saw Seas the Adventure on the Wish and Goofy was a brilliant captain. It will be a fun ship with Goofy in command. I’ve been suggesting it to DCL. I hope they consider.

Is there truth to the information that I heard that the lead architect on the class had ZERO cruise ship design experience before taking on the project?

@@Danrarbc IIRC, the head of development of these three ships was quite proud of the fact that she had never cruised before.
thanks for the update, looking forward to all the wonderful ships. I am a pearl castaway member love them all, but love the smaller wonder the best. I would love to see smaller ships being built like the wonder and magic.

Why randomly announce this? D23 is 5 months away. Was really hoping for a Tomorrowland themed ship for some reason. Could have had the 3 Cardinal lands of the park.
My guess is that they may have a lot to announce at the expo this year and wanted to get this one out sooner? Who knows
@@ThemeParkExpress Perhaps there's a NEW class to announce at D23? Announcing this now allows for it to have some attention and space to breathe.
Or at very least they might have updates on the hull they purchased out of bankruptcy at D23.

This marks the 4th Disney ship with the same root word in the name as a current or former Carnival ship. Plus there's Wonder.

There are so many cruise lines out there with so many different ships it’s bound to happen at some point haha

Freedom: Royal and Carnival.
Liberty: Royal and Carnival.
Star: Royal and Norwegian .
Splendour/Splendor: Royal and Carnival.
Pride*: Norwegian and Carnival (sort of - PRIDE of America)
But it is interesting that with Royal, Norwegian and Carnival having more than 20 ships each in their fleets Carnival and Disney still have the most overlap with Fantasy, Dream, Magic and Destiny. And a full 6 of their 8 ships will share names with another (Adventure and Wonder both also being Royal ships) - which is definitely a higher rate than anyone else.
Does this mean anything? Heck no. It's just fun data 😋
My very first cruise was Carnival fantasy and I just sailed 2 weeks ago on Disney fantasy. 2nd cruise was Carnival Destiny. I've also been on Disney wonder and magic.

I was expecting some STAR WARS…
I’ll be honest, I hate the name. And I’m less enthused about the heroes and villains theme (but Hercules, oh man that may be my Achilles heel). Never done a Triton Class (I’m waiting for a 7 day itinerary to get my head around the new layout with enough time) and I’m aching for some Star Wars representation on this ship! Double Marvel, but no Star Wars?! (I’ll give the Treasure a pass because she’s got a bunch of Disney park vibes and let’s be real, beyond the ships, that’s my vibe.)
Common…Captain Hook needs to be captain not Minnie (boring).
Disney is so cheap and lazy …other cruise lines are doing so much better.🤦🏻♀️
