A-10 all day, baby!!! If you hear "BRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTT", then it wasn't meant for you. LOL. My dad was in the Army, and when I was young, he had picked up a deck of playing cards where each one was a 2-view silhouette ID card of different military aircraft of the world, and as soon as I saw the A-10, I was hooked. For some reason, I still remember that clear as day....
I had the honor of meeting a Tuskegee Airman years ago. Super guy! A true hero!!! If I had to choose, my favorite would be the P-51!
The A-10 is not a plane with a gun...it's a gun with wings and engines.
I have a P-51 Automatic from AV-8. Fun watch with it's aviation theme!
And anyone who grew up in the 80's of course has some love for the F-14 Tomcat. It's such an icon. Probably my favorite military plane of all time. Although I do like me some F-22 Raptor these days, the current King of The Skies.
If we go WWII era planes of course the P-51 Mustang is great but I also always liked the P-38 Lightning with it's unique design and starring in the 1942 video game. P-38 Lightning, is first plane with loyal wingman drones as documented in that game, that's 6 Gen Fighter equipment in 1942 and it could evade anything with a single loop maneuver...these are facts. Not sure why we ever stopped building them. :). And I know you said no Messerschmitts but how can you not think the ME 262 wasn't cool.
I spent 8 years in the US Navy working on F14’s. Best fighter jet ever IMO.
Good choice on the Warthog. I grew up loving the B-52 and the SR-71. Those two planes still make me smile
The SR71 is a masterpiece and shows just what America can do when we REALLY our heads to the task.
P-51, P-38 Lightning and A-10 Warthog are my picks since I was a kid
The TA were some awesome American hero’s. Any time we can celebrate them and support their history is a win.
…there were also Haitian-American and Dominican-American Tuskegee Airmen. My favorite is also the A-10 Warthog. I got to see a few of them when I took classes at Kirtland AFB
Supermarine Spitfire hands down. A thing of beauty.
Cool watch, love the P-51D, & the sound of an A-10 burping out its flame of death is comforting.
Favourite military plane: A10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog", followed closely by the mighty SR-71 Blackbird. Third is probably the F-4 Phantom. Honorable mention: F-104 Starfighter.
Favourite classics: P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, De Havilland Mosquito. Honorable mention: Fokker G-1 (yes, that profile might look familiar but it's actually older than the P-38)
Watch is cool too, especially with this backstory.
There are so MANY really very super cool aircraft! Like the Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu_Eagle Owl; the Blohm and Voss bv 141; the wonderful seaplane PBY-5A Catalina Flying Boat; but who can ignore the iconic DC3?? I mean, COME ON!! (And, here's a strange one: the Bell X22!!)
THAT's why I LOVE my pilot's watches! ALL OF THEM!!
My grandfather's WWII plane was the Hawker Hurricane he also worked on the Lancaster Bomber. I have the AVI-8 watch to commemorate the Hurricane but as an aviation enthusiast (nerd) I can't pick just one but the Warthog is pretty special
Favourite plane HAS to be the Spitfire. Without doubt the most beautiful aircraft ever made, and the sound of that engine!
F-4 Phantom is my favorite war bird. They were actually still flying when I was in the Marine Corps.
F-4 was an awesome plane!
Let us agree Tu-95 'Bear' is the oldies that still has the muscle to sting
Without a doubt, the most beautiful plane in history is the Chance Vought F4U Corsair...
SR71 Blackbird baby. The Air and Dpace museum in Dulles Airport has one to view. It is insane.
The A-10 is amazing! Listen to those twin-turbofans, smooth as silk, not loud and obnoxious like the F-35. And the gun! Could you die? Yes, if you are in a tank she’s after. My favorite WWII bomber is an easy choose, it is the B-17. Like you, I built a Revell model of the “Memphis Belle” and hung it from my bedroom ceiling. It’s hard to pick a favorite Fighter, the P-51 is awesome for sure, but I’ve always thought the P-47 is cool and so is the P-38, not to mention the Supermarine Spitfire. And then there are the Navy planes, the Corsair being sexiest by far. It’s cool to find a fellow watch and WWII airplane enthusiast.
The watch is awesome, & I love the history of the “Red Tails”. My favorite mil aircraft is the C-130E & H2.
My favorite plane is the B-2 Spirit. I even built a model of it when I was a young boy
Color me ancient: the F14 is my fave. I watched F14s and F18s while I was in VA Beach back in my mid-20s and the 14 won my heart and mind.
The A-10 is also awesome. It's a slow plane specifically designed to take hits. Martin Airport on the east side of Baltimore was littered with Warthogs back then.
As for this watch, it's not for me, but I'm down with helping the Tuskegee Airmen any way I can. Nice review - thanks!
Totally agree on the P-51 and the Corsair! Great aircraft. Love the B-17 and the P-38.
In memory of Brig. General Charlie McGee 01/2022 at the age of 102. One of the last of the Tuskegee Redtails.
That is one beautifully designed watch!
It's a toss up for me I love like most the A-10 got to see one in action at CAS in the Nevada desert but I was also in the USAF when the F22 came out and to see it absolutely leave F15s in the dust at cruise speed with them in afterburner made my jaw drop.
Great review Jory! I was fortunate enough to purchase the Alabama version of this watch. It's my first limited edition watch and very impressed with the watch and what it represents. F14 Tomcat is my favorite military airplane! Big thumbs up!
Great video! My favorite WWII planes are the F4U Corsair, P51 Mustang and P47 Thunderbolt.
Spitfire and Lancaster, had two great uncles that flew them in ww2.
Then the blackbird coz it's very cool
My favourite Messerschmitt has got to be the Bf109 or Me163. Favourite non banned aircraft is the marine Corsair.
The AC-130 Ghostrider, that’s a gunship!
SR71,have you every visited the Air force museum in Dayton? All of your favorites on display and it is FREE!
The A10 & SR71 are undeniably cool for sure, but for me the coolest military aircraft will always be the Harrier jump-jet. No runway required, looks like a flying tank & stands like a bulldog. MiG-29 has a similar stocky look.
My favorites; F-22 Raptor, A-10 Warthog, F-16 Viper, F-18 Hornet, SR-71 Blackbird, B-2 Spirit, and F-117 Nighthawk
Saunders-Roe (Saro) SR.45 Princess. The last big flying boat!
I like the ME-262-A1….😊
My favorite military aircraft is the AC-130 gunship. Not so much an airplane as a flying castle of doom. My father flew them and trained some of the original crews on these aircraft.
My favorite military plane is the A-Wing since its release in 1983.
I might get one of these. The Tuskegee airmen are my favorite military group (idk what else you’d call it lolx)
The Spitfire is THE plane. And I'm a sucker for the P-38 Lightning. But the fact no one is mentioning the De Havilland DH.88 Comet or the Bugatti 100 makes me sad (well, the Bugatti is a weird one). Like most of the golden era racer planes, they were beautiful machines: Macchi M72, Caudron C460, Savoia S.51,...
A-10 warthog for sure. They fly over the house daily.
WWII - A toss up between the F4U Corsair & the P-47 Thunderbolt (Razorback).
Jet-age - The FB-111.
Nice piece 👍. However, I prefer AVI-8's non-chronograph models. What would have been nice; the case being the same shape (square) as one of the gauges in the P-51 and using the font and color scheme of the exact gauge selected.
The SR-71 Blackbird is (was) so insane and cool. It’s a tie with the original Spitfire. The aircraft used today are probably more advanced, but there is something about those classics…
Warthog (lighting II), Spooky Gun Ship, F22, p38 lightning, p51 mustang…I’m not sure how to choose, if you keep digging you keep hitting cooler and cooler planes
Excellent video
It looks pretty badass. Fair play to them for donating proceeds.
A bit of a Panerai vibe, yeah, not bad. As you said, sapphire crystal makes more sense, especially as it’s not that expensive but hey, nice piece.
Very cool watch I bought one and already have several of them
Cool watch to honor those guys
4 20mm + 50cals the Black Widow had some firepower. For me, B17, not just looks and performance. But the stories of the airmen. ( Bonus points to YB-40 mod. 14 or more 50s.. some with quad front turret. Imagine being enemy fighter coming head on only to see wingman get shredded by a "bomber".
It's huge.
Junkers Ju 87 or the Rooivalk...I also love the De Haviland Vampire. I always bounce between those three.
Favorite prop in lane: P51 Mustang or Spitfire
Fighter Jet: F16
Favorite Jet period: RS-71 (The real name for the SR-71, but Nixon said it backwards and it stuck)
Can't go wrong with the best fighter ever produced F22 Raptor - even if I have a sweetspot for the BlackWidow
Aviation watches generally are fun, plus AVI-8 makes some interesting looking watches👍😊and A-10 sounds like it’s blowing a really deadly raspberry sound in videos, probably sounds much scarier IRL, especially if its headed your way!👍🤔😏😂jk
fav military plane: P-63 Kingcobra
Sopwith Camel...WWI. Awesome plane Snoopy flew one
Pretty sure your a bot
The Spitfire of course Bro' 🙏
SR71, A10 Thunderbolt (Warthog), F14 Tom Cat, B2 Stealth.
Avro Lancaster.
100% winner. No doubt. You'll never sway me on this!
Very cool!
P-38 Lightning for me. Along with the Tomcat
I like them. I wish they did some of their watches with solar mvmts though.
Great cause! I just wish theyd bring their case sizes down a bit, everything is mid 40s for them.
The Lockheed P38 Lightning.
My favorite airplane is also A10 Warthog!
Is the Junker 87 Stuka no problem instead of a Messerschmitt? ;)
F-35 Raptor
A-110 Warthog
F-4 Phantom
F-117 Nighthawk
B-52 Stratofortress
A homage Panerai/Bell & Ross plus some odd elements.
Another A-10 Fan..... YEEEEAHHH!!!! PRRRRRRRTTTTT!!!!!
Gonna be the raptor for me
That's a great watch. Where can I find the yellowish one?
F87 Sabre and F4F Hellcat
❤ F-117 Nighthawk & F/A-18 ❤
F-21 lovenowar is my favorite plane
FW-190 favorite plane, with BF-109 coming close second!
What you guys think about the citizen blue angels edition ?
B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber... because why not?
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT THE PRIDE OF TUCSON BABY
The Super Marine Spitfire
Almost forgot the Russian beauty...the Sukhoi 7...a jet with classical wings...gorgeous design..!
SR-71
I like the British RAF Vulcan but for me the Lockheed S R 71 blackbird is the king.
Look up, just for fun, the badasses known as the Harlem Hell Fighters. Bad motherfuckers.
I believe you pretty much nailed it on the Fighter plans ans bombers! They don't get much cooler than that! If i ever hit the lotto i will have a P-51! And a F-22 Hornets or F-18 twin engine Fighhter Jet! Or an Apache AH-64 attack helicopter!
I mean its only money! Right?
F-86 Sabre
SR-71 And B-1
B52 stealth bomer, blackbird❤❤
SR-71 Blackbird
A-10 Warthog all the way!!!!
My favourite aeroplane is a Vickers Armstrong Supermarine Spitfire. Is there a watch that is based on the spitfire?
zelos did a watch that used part of a Spitfire a while ago for the dial
@@paddypower5965 Thanks for the tip. It is the Skyraider 2 spitfire.
I love me an F-117 nighthawk
AC-130. Talk about firepower 😬
Bona fide warriors.
Supermarine Spitfire Mk V
this watch is hideous, but I still think you're pretty neat T3
While not too much out there as in looks, and while respecting the brand which sticks to doing a specific themed line (it's in their brand name after all) I do not find myself attracted to the plane theme thing. I do feel bad, somewhat, because historically, my country was the most plane-bombarded country in the world in WWII and a part of me screams "this is your history and you should be ashamed for not being interested in it". But...I'm just not.
I hope there are enough interested buyers.
For me, the favourite aeroplane is beyond doubt the Concorde. I find myself intrigued with it, and feel sad when I think about the crashes and the ultimate scrapping of that model and project.
Now that would be a model I would consider, and who better than AVI-8 to do it?
or the lockheed F-104 Starfighter
Cessna 172! Lol, 😜
Saab JAS 39 Gripen
A-10
F/A-18 Hornet. (mic drop)
Lockheed SR-71 Black hawk....
