Shopping for LID-safe salt when on the Low Iodine Diet (LID)

The Low Iodine Diet (LID) is often prescribed as a preparation for a scan or treatment with radioactive iodine (RAI). This is not a low-salt diet, although we avoid iodized salt when on this diet. The diet is generally for two weeks prior and three days after taking RAI. Always check with your physician.
