Inglis was born in Bowraville Sydney made his NRL debut for the Mighty Melbourne Storm then moved onto the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In his prime at his peak he could turn a game in the blink of an eye, power speed agility he is the blueprint for the perfect Rugby League 6’4” 105kg. Perfection personified but he let some injuries and alcohol. Not on the G.O.A.T but definitely among the conversations

This is rugby league and Greg Inglis is an Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal) the crawl he does when he scores a try is the Goanna Crawl.
The Goanna is a big native Australian lizard and it is also his Aboriginal totem, he does the crawl as a celebration to represent his Indigenous culture.

You get a subscribe just for knowing that League and Union are different sports.
GI was a phenomenal player. I love that this vid showed him in offence and defence. He was a beast going both ways.
    A true 80 minute player.
I had to love hime when he played for my team, Melbourne and, later ,having that grudging respect that you give to superstars when they do that shit to your team.
Apart from that, from what I know, he was a humble gentleman. Proud of his heritage. An amazing athlete who represented my country and in turn me.
He had the courage to confront his demons sat the end of his NRL career which is conduct that anyone should emulate.
    Wish him all the best.
    By the way,
Rugby League is back live right now. Get on it!

GI played for the NRL (Rugby league, not Rugby Union, ..big difference) and he was born in a country town called Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia.
6’5” 230lbs, strong, runs like the wind, sidestep, all the skills, no fear and rock-solid defence. He has a presence that only great players have. A FREAK!!
I think a team of GI’s would beat a team of any other great player you can think of.
Probably the best way to determine how good he is.
GI can play in any backline position from 5/8, Centre ¾, Winger and Full back. These are most of the main offensive as well as defensive backline positions combined.
GI Played for the Melbourne Club the Storm, then moved to the Sydney club South Sydney Rabbitohs where he retired from the NRL last year and is now playing Super League in England.
    Cheers Al

In the world of #RugbyLeague , Greg was a #Deity (Demigod) among men. Speed, strength, agility, awareness and untrained talent, he had it all 💯 We played a curtain raiser (game before the main event) for a semi professional team he played for in his teens. Everyone was talking about him at the time, and so we decided to stick around and watch him after our game. We watched him score 9 tries that day, and instantly knew this boy was special. He was so good when he burst into the professional scene that he could play numerous positions on the field, thus changing and evolving the very game and player position. State Of Origin (The maroon jerseys vs the blue) is the hardest platform in the rugby league world arena. Greg has the most tries in origin history. That alone is a feat in its self. Like I said, a #Deity among men. I've seen and played with and against alot of great players but Greg, he's the best I've ever seen. #GOAT 👊 He would've done just as good in other codes like Rugby Union, and I definitely know you guys would've loved to see him play NFL in his prime, like a running back/wide receiver/tight end.💯

Greg is quite phenomenal. He's a back (generally, the smaller, faster players - the big bruisers are called forwards), but Greg was big enough and strong enough to be a forward. He also has great positional awareness, so that he always seems to be right where he's needed (to attack or defend). [Oh, that's another difference between NFL and Rugby and Rugby League - there's no "special teams", "Offence" or "Defence" teams. The players on the field stay on the field, and don't get "swapped out" if you fumble and lose the ball]. I mentioned in another of your vids about in the 112 year history of Rugby League there are 100-odd players in the Hall of Fame. Of those, 13 have been raised to "Immortal" status. Another certainty is Johnathan Thurston (it was his video that I made this comment in). Greg Inglis, fantastic player though he was (and is) will probably not achieve Immortal status.

Didn't see anyone else in the comments answer this - in rugby league a field goal (you might also hear it called a 'drop goal', because it has to be a drop kick not a punt) is only worth one point, so you only really see it to break a tie in the late game.
In rugby union a drop goal is worth three points, so you see it a lot more often (if the attacking team can't bust through for a try they might just go for the drop goal).

He is I believe the only person to win Dally M’s in three different positions?? Dally M basically means he’s the best player for that position, there is an overall title too which I believe he also won, positions were stand-off, centre and fullback, one of the greatest to ever lace up IMO

Played stand off early in his career, so the ball handler and distributor like a QB, then went to centre which is wide out. And played full back which is the ball returner from kicks

If you had to compare him to an NFL star he would be Calvin Johnson/Julio Jones. Extremely quick and was almost impossible to stop 1 on 1. One of the greatest athletes in NRL history.

He's top 3 in ( fullback no 1/center no3 or no4), in terms of greatest of all time, for example Andrew John's is a (halfback no7)and he pretty much changed that position, the way he kicked the ball and just controlled the game was crazy, then you have Cam smith(dummy half no.9) who has the best rugby league brain, this bloke controls the game like no one else he's always 5 steps ahead of everyone, if you really want to learn more about the game Just look up the Nrl CZcams channel and just watch some game highlights and pre/post game shows so you can get an understanding of what makes individual players stand out from the rest, 🤝🏽✌🏽 love the reactions to my g

He is considered to be the best attacking player in modern history but there are others that are considered to be more the GOAT that play more crucial positions to a team's chances. Check out Johnathon Thurston, Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk..They are the one's who direct the side around the park and make it possible for people like Greg Inglis to take advantage.
