I'd say he would be an attacking forward setting up trys creating try through his line breaks as will as being in right position to score them
He trialled for an NFL team but I think his all round skills were detrimental to him in the end because they weren’t sure of his position. A little too short to be a Tight End and a little too slow to be a halfback. I would’ve loved to have seen him in a game environment though.

Tongans are strongest out of all the polynesians iykyk but they lack discipline something the Samoans have as reasons why Samoans are making it

He's a forward which means his main job in attack is to do the grind work with the ball and in defence to stop the heavy men. In attack you get 6 hit ups (tackles) so the group of forwards normally take the first 3 or 4 and are used to just bash their way forward. Forwards are all big and heavy but ideally they are also fast, have some footwork and can hit the line then twist and pass to another forward coming through for a second phase - so you get two hit ups in one play. Taumalolo is fast enough and agile enough that if he breaks into open field 90% of players won't run him down so the defensive team will always put 2 or 3 players on him so as not to risk a line break. This means if he hits the line and passes after drawing 2 or 3 players it makes big holes on the sides. He is also used near the try line about 2 passes out from the play the ball in the middle of the back line since players defending there usually the faster but lighter players that can't stop him within 10m, so he goes over the line to score.
