This video demonstrates how to remove and replace the washer on a brass stem valve for your shower. You can also replace the stem valve itself if necessary.
Good idea to have the stem in the open position before screwing it back into the valve body. In the video you go from a flat washer to a beveled washer -- did that work better?
Super helpful! Thanks
So glad!
Thanks for the demonstration
You bet

I have replaced the stem and the seat. I still have a little leaking, and not after every use. Would a beveled washer help to achieve a better seal?
I fixed mine Yayyy!
Did you turn main water off? Do you open sink water open somewhere in house?
I want to know too
Where was the drip? Mine is old like this and drips from the shower head. It's a shower only with separate hot and cold water handles. Help please.
Hello, I have the exact same issue. Did you ever figure out what specifically this was?
Hot water--so not single-pull control? Do you have a video to repair a single-pull shower control?
What kind of beveled washer did you replace ?
