I'm not a licensed plumber, but a do-it-yourselfer who learned from the best (my dad). However, because it's not my profession, I am eternally grateful for you and others like you who provide me with step by step directions to remove and replace those items that I am capable of performing... Thank you, Tim!!

This is just the video I would have needed. I replaced my Sayco valve yesterday before seeing this video. Excellent video nonetheless!

This is exactly what I needed to fix a shower unit.
    Thank you.
Now I have to go back to the store to get the right shower unit that matches. 😅

I need to do this to my shower. But my handle is seized on. I think I may have to put the heat to it. Thank you for the lesson, Tim. Stay safe and stay cool

I almost wanted to get a petition started when I had to try to find replacement valve stems for this faucet in my home, which was obviously changed out and replaced with something other than the original manufacturer stems. I don’t understand why there is not an industry standard with shower/sink faucet stems. It is absolutely ridiculously unnecessary to have as many variations of stems as there are on the market. I understand variations in certain settings but there really should be an industry standard with these faucet handle stems.

Thanks for the great video. Any thoughts on how to remove a stripped seat? I was able to remove an old leaky stem (last opportunity it would have had to be changed was maybe 1989) and it took ages to break it loose. The inner seat however disintegrated rapidly and is now circular. The stem replacement stopped the leak, but I'd like to finish the job and replace the seat.

I always put pipe dope/tape on those seats do you think that’s a good idea because I’m just a worry wort

I appreciate the video. Thank you. I would add that people should make sure the Valve stem is turned to the full on position (meaning unscrewed to the left for hot valve) when tightening down valve into the seat otherwise you'll crush the seat when tightening down. How do I know? As an amateur plumber I screwed this up first before doing it right the second time.
