- How much does it cost to compete as a pro drifter? This year Josh entered the pro class of the Irish Drift Championship in the Nascar engined Nissan Silvia S13 we picked up earlier this year. When you add the fuel, tyres, damage and entries, is it affordable to compete at the top level? We would love to hear your thoughts on this and do you think it's good value to compete at this level?

retiring the NC was the best decision Josh couldve made. It was cool tbf, but nothing but issues. the ps13 is already much more reliable, not constantly having low oil pressure haha

I’d imagine factoring in a 4x4 or van plus a car transporter,a pro spec car a workshop to enable work on said car and your easily up the guts of €100,000…..the €2000 a weekend event costs on top of that without sponsorship and a top notch day job you’re in bother😄

Josh and the Lowbrain have become one
in belgium we only have wet events so im using a set of tires over 2 events with 200 hp max , and im doing only 4 to 5 events a year. for the youtubes i can understand why u guys do this BUT for people having a normal job its still doable to have fun get some doors and not get into debt xD. i wish i had budget to do this at this level tho. one love

Probably worth looking at reinforcing the rear subframe if it was the torque that broke the subframe.

Drifting is cheap when you start, goes downhill from there
The one thing I miss is meeting new people, when your car has an issue or someone else’s does, random people will show up and help you
Just for the guys state side, that follow that $2137.97 USD for 1 event , being i race state side that pretty much dead on what i spend per event aswell give or take 100 bucks for fuel depending ontl the state the event is in if we dont bring our own fuel

Nothing close to the cost 🙈
The vast majority of motorsport the prize money, when it exists which is very much the exception rather than the rule, doesn't come close to what it costs to compete even if you win every event. That's what sponsors are for.

Always wanted too know roughly the cost of these things and this is being in ireland or Europe prices ir this in general world prices roughly ? 😮😅
Im not doing anymore " video if asking for a drift truck build " things because i keep getting non-stop harassed for it.
So I spend $2500-$2700 (depending on crew that week), up to 25 times a year (usually around 20) and that's just to show up and not counting any maintenance or Equipment costs. That is to run at a local track, that has 20-30 cars in just our class, and there are up to 8 classes (usually 6-7). Every week I can go to any of 5 different tracks within 2 hours and more tracks if you go a little further. That's for a regular grass roots Late Model Stock.
That's a lot. I spend less than half that amount to go racing per event.

Well done josh, try learn to use just the clutch instead of the handbrake then you would of had the 2nd battle.. the speed use are going it only takes a 1/2secs with the clutch in to back off a enough to miss without actaully slowing down with the handbrake.. get yourself a owl banger for doing we drift days like oval days etc you will master door to door an the timing.. dave will be able to tell you what nutts corner is like we all go door to door with 5/6 cars in a row but there is also a lot of wreckers 😂😂😂
