- This was a challenge to try and release the tension in my legs and hips, i was really impressed with the results as my starting point was extremely poor. still a lot of work to do.... Let's get you to the 90 degree mark. Try this for the next 2 weeks...using the straight leg stretch, take a rope or towel and stretch using the contract-relax technique. Also known as PNF you will be able to stretch a lot further rather quickly. Just make sure you keep your knee straight. Also extremely effective with a partner which may be better to do. Show us your progress and you'll get to 90 very fast.

i can just about touch my knees, which is terrible

Do a strength challenge with a heavy punchbag. Hitting a heavy bag increases your strength!

I managed to get my splits within 2 minutes, I just went down as much as I could and then I told my brother to jump on my legs, it worked but very painful.
