Phall was an example of the bitter hatred that the Iron Warriors and the Imperial Fists can create some of the most destructive battles that are still felt after ten thousand years later, but it is also a foreshadowing of how nightmarish the Siege of Terra will be for the Imperial Fists.
This was Alexis Polux' finest hour. And showcased his cunningness in void warfare.
The true irony is that Perturabo bled for the Imperium thanklessly but never spoke up for himself as his Legion were sacrificed in lost causes where he neither asked nor demanded support. Resentful, Perturabo turns his back on his Father and sides with Horus only to make THE SAME MISTAKES and WASTE THEIR LIVES ON USELESS FIGHTS all over again.
Phall should have been and could have been Istavaan V 2.0 if he'd called for reinforcement at first sign of problems but instead pressed forward and refused to admit the situation was becoming unworkable. It was DORN's own (equally) stubborn selfishness that gave the Iron Warriors the win.. Perturabo switched sides for NOTHING and it took Battle for Terra to finally realize there it's not wrong to abandon a bad situation.
In twist of fate, the exact same situation would repeat - but sides reversed - at the Iron Cage with Dorn making the EXACT same mistakes as his brother. Guess they really weren't so different after all. 😢
I totally disagree, they were polar opposites, Dorn always followed orders no matter what never questoning his Father never expecting being celebrated nor being patted on the back, should the Emperor ask Dorn he must jump, Dorn would ask how high, he embraced his father's ideals for the Imperium. Dorn's failure/self-punishment during the Iron Cage was his own scouring due to his perception of failure during the siege, he saw his brother die, his father barely alive, all the ideals crumbling beneath the siege, he went unprepared and thought of this as his own punishment.
On the other hand you have Perturabo, who promised his father he would not fail went asked to lay asunder the many keeps the enemy raised in the galaxy during the crusade, he did not only fail but complained at any time he was never celebrated, but always asking for the worst of campaigns, decimating his legions when he could, the fact is perty would have complained whether he was given the worst jobs or the easiest, never understanding what Dorn did the moment he realized what he was, only to confirm this when meeting the Emperor, that they are a tool to shape the galaxy.
Pert's smug arrogance always prevented him from seeing his own mistakes and failings. He was callous and wasteful of his sons lives, setting them impossible tasks and blaming them when they couldn't do it. His superiority complex made him *expect* love and praise. Dorn had none of these traits.
@@praetoriandorn3154 cope and seethe
@@infernalskepandaen2127 cope and seethe
Pert's biggest difference is his disdain for his own chapter. They had gotten the worst hobs because no one advocated for them. Then Pert came and punished them for always getting the worst jobs.
perturabo was a victim of his own stubbornness and pride he turned traitor out of shame not malicious intent
Almost 100k folks...let's help get this channel there and more
This channels videos needs as many likes and comments as it does views. Absolutely shameful that it only has such a small amount.
Excellent retelling, excellent voice acting! I think it was a bit of a mistake on the part of Black Library to not give the reader just a *little* insight into what Dorn did to incur the hatred of Perturabo. About 70 books later and we still don't know. Many people think he's just evil and jealous. But if you look at how Dorn treated Sigismund in that scene, it gives you at least some idea of what may have happened.
Well, if Perturabo strangling his own adopted sister to death is any indication, it was “mere existence”.
this is pretty good lore fight of the Imperial Fists and Iron Warriors
Oooo my man master of the power fist Alexis Polux masterful defence, and downright trolling on Perturabo.
"There is only the emperor!" " He is our Shield and our Protector!"
I recognize Mass Effect music anywhere!
The traitors had to be hardcore carried by endless tide of daemons because of this battle, while half of the terra was being dragged to hell, since the iron warriors did most of the job anyway during the siege of terra
By far one of the best videos 😢
Great vid! Really like how you ended it!
I am curious how a one-on-one fight between Rogal Dorn and Perturabo would go. I know, Perturabo rarely fights directly, given his genius intellect and his disdain for anything resembling honor, but I think it would have been an interesting match.
Both possessed of supernatural physical and mental prowess, both wield legendary weapons, both wear powerful and incredibly durable armor, and yet, so different in their mindset.
Dorn, unyielding, strong and resolute. Loyal unto death to the Emperor.
Perturabo, bitter, spiteful, envious and cold. Logical, yes, but also cruel and selfish.
If not for that emergency message, them Iron Warriors fleet would have had more casualties.
