Installing Projector Puddle Lights on the Mk7 GTI!

- I ordered the kit from Active Euro Retrofit for the Mk7 GTI. I've always wanted puddle door lights, and these were the perfect kit!
The harnesses needed to be cut, extended and spliced into the OEM plug but other than that, it was pretty easy to install. No coding was needed for my application, but you may need to code your install.

Got mine today (GTI logo). I took the light cover off and never realized there isn't a light in there! I guess I'll have to wire it up like you did. maybe do a sound damping sheet in there while I'm at it.

Wish I saw this video before ordering them! How do they claim plug & play, when you have to take door panel off and de-pin/pin wires. I hope their license plate bulbs aren’t a hastle

I did order them not knowing this. My old 2001 had the wires in the doors for them, but not a 16 year newer car?. Thats stupid
Have the GTI logo on mine for a few years now. Thought is was a bit more subtle than a bright VW one.
Any plans on doing more interior upgrades?
The GTI one is cool too, I just preferred the VW logo. I've got a cool DSG knob coming!

Just bought off Ali express puddle lights for mk7 that I just bought..not realizing they're weren't already wired (csr was being detailed at the dealership) I went ahead ordered without the wiring....light came and they have a slot for a 2 pin connector no wires...can annoying help me
Like is there a wired adapter to hard wire then clip to the light connector? I can't find anytjing
yo dude what did u do, I did the same thing lmao. Thought it would be battery powered.... I guess wireless in China has a slightly different meaning... aka without a harness (that you need)
BRooooooo Please tell us what color wires did you connect to get power to the puddle lights. Did the lights come with installing instructions I been wanting this MOD forever.
A lot of guides show you can pin in the positive wire to the #16 pin but I had a wire there that I spliced into. Then ground goes to brown at #4.

@@motofli I'd check for a diagram, but the brown is on the same row as what you'll use for positive
I have these on my Touareg TDI and Passat. All of them melted the inside lenses that project the VW logo. Very disappointing.

lol the description on the website says "2 minute simple plug & play installation, may require an interior trim tool." seemed a bit more involved than that unless you can just pop the existing light off and splice it in
