That bed cutout was for fuel pump access. Instead of pulling the tank out or bed off, certain sketchy individuals just cut a hole in the bed to replace the fuel pump when it goes bad.
I thot the same thing I can see It in some cars where ull never see the hole under the rear seats and tank straps don't like to come off nicely after 5 years in the rust belt but in a truck C'mon there's plenty of room to get the tank out or bed off cutting a hole for that in a truck bed is pure lazyness

the chrome door handles are factory add of from gm that’s how they had chrome handles. they were normally actually chrome and metal so those are probably after market. and the hole in the bed was most likely him trying to do a fuel pump instead of just dropping the tank or taking the bed off he cut the bed

the chrome door handles are factory add of from gm that’s how they had chrome handles. they were normally actually chrome and metal so those are probably after market. and the hole in the bed was most likely him trying to do a fuel pump instead of just dropping the tank or taking the bed off he cut the bed
