  • So you may have seen in a recent video that I paid a visit to Litchfield motors to see how much power my BMW M240i was really producing stock, however this was not the only reason I made the journey!
My M240i is now producing well over 400hp, and is quite the monster.

Some companies deliberately use tricks to inflate the figures, so that people will go to them as they think more is better, especially dyno companies.
Mechanically, a stock B58 simply can't produce more than 420bhp, it's just not scientifically possible.
And anywhere near 600nm is definitely not real, from just a remap.
Hell, I have a 200m cell cat, ITG air filter, and mine only dyno'd at 634nm ... but that was on a very accurate dyno, properly strapped down (so no roller riding to increase the figures), ambient air temps and intake temps both shown on the readout to prove no miscalculation, and with a conservative correction ratio.
It's so easy to get higher figures, but it's not real.
There is a video on CZcams, from a technician, who gets over 500bhp from a remap, but it's just all tricks and bs, but the readout says 500bhp lol some mug would believe that.

Agree with Martin there, you’d have to put thousands into the Z4 to get a 80hp increase. I’d sooner by a Z4M. Having said that, it’s nice having the Z4 as it is, it’s got just the right amount of power that you can use all the time

Sorry but your figures were over exaggerated by Litchfield.
356bhp stock is high, and 432bhp from just a remap is also high. Maximum *real* power for a standard B58 with no mods is 420bhp tops.
Did you go any further down the tuning route ?
My M140i has a 200 cell cat and ITG air filter, and the XHP3 g/box software, it's pretty savage now.

You have no idea what you are talking about. A bootmod 3 93+ octane stage one will give 440bhp. Stage 2 with a downpipe approx 460bhp and stick the HPFP on and you will get approx 490. Have a custom tune you are looking at 510bhp crank. 356bhp stock is normal and I'd expect higher. They are quoted whp.

@@TeacherToolkitDemo I work in the motor trade, I know exactly what I'm talking about.
I can show you a video where a standard M140i made over 500BHP from just a remap.
Of course, it's complete bullshit, but it's possible for anyone to give a customer a dyno graph which has this figure on it.
Just because some clowns believe anything tuners tell them, does not make it accurate or in any way truth.
Nobody can say what a certain map will give a certain car, least of all you, there are too many variables, and if you work in the motor trade like me, you would know that if you dyno the same car, on the same dyno, on the same day, 5 times, you will see 5 different results.
BHP cannot be measured, only calculated from the torque which CAN be measured. And even then, it varies with every run depending on intake temps, traction on the dyno, fuelling, timing, and a dozen other variables.
Max true bhp from a B58 engine remap is about 420, it is scientifically impossible to get more out of an unopened, completely standard B58 engine, and if you don't understand that, I suggest you give up trying to argue against real science because you obviously don't understand as much as I do.
