Car was running stage 2 98 RON map. Usually it runs E50.
Roughly 9s 100-200kmh on the speedo doesn't seem world record fast to me. I probably don't get it:) But thanks for the nice video!

@@robingerhardpopma2587 yeah, 8,5 - 9 sec is pretty normal for OTS 98 map.

Anyway, on 98RON it should push 460-470 de-cat and 100-200 should be around 8.4-8.5 (8.1-8.2 below 15 degrees) so the car runs fine!
With E50 it should push around 550 so 10 sec on 1/4 mile is darn good 👍🏻
What amazes me most? The number of guys that have let Misha take their girl for a spin over the last 12 months! 😂😂😂😂
And even letting him take their girlfriend along!

It was fascinating to see how fast the fuel level dropped down.
B58 is thirsty under full load. It's also worth pointing out the tank is smaller on the 1 series vs the 3 or 5 series, so it looks even worse than it actually is.
1 series 50 lt tank :(
About 8 laps to a full tank by the looks of it.

@@xIcarus227 nope, this sounds awful. Even the lowliest M20 or M50/52/54 sounds miles better than this. It just drones and farts. The smooth, musical snarl of old is gone.
@@richardharrold9736 I mean you didn't have any noise regs to speak of back then, so in stock form yeah they're gonna sound good. But with a custom exhaust? Naah, too close.
Also, you can tune the farts out. Actually BMW cut most farts after the F generation, they probably realized how childish they sounded.
@@xIcarus227 stock for stock, quiet enough not to offend, those old N/A engines sound far better. Yeah, if you take a B58, give it a completely new intake and exhaust, remove the turbo and throw it in the bin where it belongs, put a 6-into-1 header on it, it might sound good... but there is no way that a stock turbo B58 with the horrible cast manifold will ever sound good.
This is super fast.. you make it look easy! Passenger also handled it like it's nothing

13:05 another big influence is how much weight is on the driven axle - meaning pressing on the tires, pushing them into the asphalt, increasing grip. Rear seat delete and lithium battery (which is on the rear on most BMWs) removes even more weight from the driven axle in this case, which on a BMW hatchback is already very light to begin with.
Why does it work on the drag strip? 1. specially prepared surface 2. going in a straight line there is perfect weight transfer due to momentum to the rear.
That's the reason I opted for a heavier material half cage in mine, didn't bother with a lightweight battery and also keep a hydraulic jack and breaker bar etc in the back.
@@1993j good choices all around. Yes, replacing the deleted rear seats with a half cage is a great way of adding useful (-> improved chassis rigidity) weight back.
Not sure if this one is Xdrive as his previous car was but still, the rear seat does not weigh that much. Most of the weight saving probably came from front seats and sound deadening on the floor. Also the car is built for drag racing so he probably runs dedicated tyres for drag events. With a correct suspension setup it will take off lifting the front and transferring weight to the back. Having too much weight and grip will will start breaking axles and diffs on a car with stock parts.
Don’t think that’s the case here, I think it’s big reason because it has an open diff, you can tell during corner exists,
The car isn’t that powerful , but adding more power on a open diff won’t help, especially during corner exist

M140i is one of my favourite cars it’s cheap,fast,highly tuneable and it’s a bmw. Nice too see them actually being driven on track unlike the ones here in the uk that just get crashed or nicked
My m140i 2018 got 457bhp and i drive it like i stole it 🤣🤣

Sounds like shit though, and the car can't put the power down. It would be better with a ~360bhp N52 on ITBs.
@@richardharrold9736it can’t put the power down because it’s a 3l engine in a 1 series and has an open differential and even then it still isn’t handling too bad it’s just unpredictable. Also the b58 sounds great for being basically stock
@@Stncedr1ge it's a three-litre engine running a fuckton of boost, it makes more power than my six-litre BMW V12. Also, it sounds like utter shit. A stock N52 sounds much nicer than this. It wouldn't matter if you put an LSD in it either, it's too much power for those skinny tyres to put down.
@@richardharrold9736 to be fair it needs some more handling mods but personally I think just a lsd and suspension would help enough. Also like I said the b58 is mostly stock when they have an exhaust they sound way better. Remember it’s a hatchback that weighs around 1525kg stock and is rwd. Can I just add too there is no way a v12 is running less then 450bhp
@@Stncedr1ge my V12 is 5972cc, 48 valve and rated at 439bhp/445ftlb. All turbocharged direct injection engines sound like shit, and the engine is way too heavy - the block itself could be lightened, the pistons and rods could be lightened and the turbo and intercooler be thrown in the scrap bin where they belong.
As someone that will likely never be able to make it to the ring, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate these vids

@@BrainFuck10Nothing slow about 500hp in that little thing. It does 10.4sec in the 1/4. My Triumph Daytona, a Liter bike does 10.3sec. The car is fast. plus the OG viper was 400hp sooo

On the straights it's absurdly fast, on the curves the drag heritage is noticeable 😅 but it's still fast and certainly a lot of fun 😊

Watching the speedometer, it looks like the power delivery was very smooth and linear. It wasn't jumpy between gears and looked like it accelerated in a straight line. Good driving...as always.

Great lap. The car drives like a station wagon but you had fun and pushed its limits. Kinda reminds me of my old drag focused car. Front end bouncing around.

Weight reduce is the best performance mod for your car. It is good for everything: corner speed, acceleration, braking,....
I also have saved 80 kg on my tuned BMW 330D (E46). It is really not easy to save this kind of weight. My E46:
+ removed the rear seats and the insulation
+ removed the spare wheel
+ removed on-board tools
+ Lite-Blox car battery
+ removed the three vibration damper on the rear axle
+ titan wheel bolts
+ light-weight OZ-Racing wheels '17
+ replaced some parts true complete carbon parts (tank covers, cabin filter cover,....).

After having 125i stage 1 with b48 310hp and bringing to Nurburgring , now I’m soon switching on 140i stage 2 for few month before buying my dream m2c .

*held the stock turbo b58 BMW record for a short time. B58 king StiMikey shortly took it back in a customer's M340i weighing at least 400lbs more. Also it was the B58 BMW record, B58 Supra is in the 9s on stock turbo.
