- Onboard with Jason Humble's 10,000rpm 12A Bridgeport 71 Mazda RX2 Coupe Historic Racer vs Old School V8 Muscle at Phillip Island Australia!
The ultimate David and Goliath battle takes place in the Group Nc Historic Touring Car Racing category for makes and models of the type that raced here in Australia up to December 1972 for the Improved Production Touring Car and Production Touring Car classes back in the day that saw the likes of Allan Moffat, Norm Beechey, Bob Jane, Leo & Pete Geoghegan, John Harvey, Peter Brock, Dick Johnson, Ford Mustang, Holden Torana, Holden Monaro, Falcon GT, XY GTHO, Valiant Charger and many more.
At Master of Machines, we love cars, in fact, we love anything with wheels or an engine, from American Muscle Cars to Australian Muscle Cars, Race Cars and Classic Cars of all kinds and even Barn Finds. If it's fast, powerful, restored or hidden away in hibernation then we'll cover it, and in most cases, we'll even drive them! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Much more interesting to watch then modern V8 supercar stuff. Great footage really enjoyed it.
That steering wheel would drive me insane
Often happens on the day, mechanics make a quick toe change in the front end under the pump in between races and it puts the wheel out of whack.
Said the pirate when asked why he had a steering wheel down his pants.
"Arrr. its drivin me nuts."
@@m.b.82 LOL!
Wow. Loved it mate. The Mustang in the Moffat colours, the Charger coming from nowhere and the Mazda drivers red hot go at keeping them all honest. These historic events let us see real racing. Something V8 Supercars never have or will be able to do. Great viewing, thanks to you and all those involved to let us see something REALLY good. Cheers.
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Romeo Cash Instablaster :)
@Ishaan Titus Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Ishaan Titus DAMN IT ACTUALLY WORKED! Just hacked my ig account after about 45 minutes of using the site.
Just had to pay 15 $ but for sure worth the price =)
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Romeo Cash happy to help :)
That shifter was jumping all over the place like a pogo stick, that RX2 looks like a real handful to control. Great racing.
Great racing there! I was getting so frustrated seeing the more powerful cars with poorer handling holding him up!
Looks like we all got a buzz out of it
Awesome!! Go the rotor!! Champion race! Jeeesuz!!! The amount of money he could get for the RX-2 if it was a streetcar! Coupes were hard to find 20 years ago.
I've never driven a rotary but have been a passenger many times in a later 70s Capella, the top end power always blew me away. Back in the day it looked for all the world like a little four cyl' Japanese runabout. But the acceleration, speed and total lack of the sensation of speed was incredible.
To see the speedo and relise we were moving at 180 - 190 kph was an education and this was a stock standard car.
Thanks for sharing Glenn, what an awesome video. Can't the guy steer, even when crossed up he didn't seem to lose pace. Great driving. Old mate in the Camaro locked up the far side front quite a few times, I reckon he would have had a rough ride.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes Jason can steer, he's an ex Mini racer and those guys sure know how to get 110% out of the car! :-)
That's why we like racing with Jason great competitor....
The windscreen wipers look like they want to abandon ship ;) ;)
Nice work Glenn!
Loved this video!
Fair bit of slidin' going on!
grew up buying RX-2, RX-3 & RX-4 back in the mid 80's where you will look at the trading post every Thursday & no problem there would always be a rotary for sale.
RX-2, $ 450, RX-3 $750, dime a dozen no one wanted them. Sold as is where is no RWC.
Great cheap fun.
Rotary = Blurp, blurp, blurp, blurp, blurp
Great video
Yep, bought my first RX3 for $800 in 84, I was 14 years old. :-)
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines if only we kept them
the shifter reminds me off those inflatable crazy waving arms dudes
Yeah it was driving me mad. The tailshaft starts vibrating badly part way through the race. Had to swap it after as a uni failed
Those cubes just pull away hard on the straights.
Torque bro, nothing like it.
Tail happy thing isn't it? Who doesn't like the sound of a rotary. Not much of a field this time, was it during the lockdown? Great racing though. Cheers
Was a couple of years ago. Car was in storage but COVID-19 has seen it pulled out and refreshed for racing in 2021
@@HDRAus Hope it does well.
looked like fun.
go little rota!
I can't help but feel it should have a gear lower the whole run.
It's a hard balance with only a 4 speed box on this track, the next gear selection down and you're too high in the rpm, plus the rear gear has to allow the engine to achieve near optimal rpm at the end of the main straight, and not well before it.
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines I understand, it just sounded not quite there but I'm only going off sound where as you're driving it. Sounds like a quick 6 speed would be awesome even though it might not be allowed in the class.
Fucking weapon
Needs a turbo
A few more laps and he would have had them both, especially the guy in first, that guy had cooked his tyres and possibly brakes so the flag couldn’t have come soon enough
Dang dang porn! Love it. My first car had a 12A in it. I’m a wankel fiend till I die!
This guy needs a lesson in hand on wheel placement, so crossed up.
Would love to see you drive at this level
@@racingrx2 give me a car and a drive and lesgo
Exactly. Keyboard comments don’t earn you a car, ability or opportunity.
I've driven a fair few race cars 😂
To drive a car on the edge of traction and grip in a constant slide the whole race takes true commitment, concentration and skill. Great job Jason and an awesome video to watch.
Love the early RX's and the amazing output for the capacity but that godawful noise 😖
