- Glenn Everitt joins forces with Survivor Car Australia Magazine to remove an iconic Aussie Muscle Car after sitting in a landlocked shed for over 30 years! This original Ford Falcon XA GT Sedan, 351 4-speed car was parked in a suburban shed in 1986 and ended up trapped there ever since, unable to be removed by normal methods due to surroundings being built around it. Barn find, Shed find, whatever you want to call it, this is one epic muscle car find and rescue mission, but it's harder than you might think and presents quite a challenge.
At Master of Machines, we love cars, in fact, we love anything with wheels or an engine, from American Muscle Cars to Australian Muscle Cars, Race Cars and Classic Cars of all kinds and even Barn Finds. If it's fast, powerful, restored or hidden away in hibernation then we'll cover it, and in most cases, we'll even drive them! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I am a American who appreciates Australian muscle cars Ford or Holden ever since I first seen the first Mad Max move with the 1974 Ford Australian Falcon XB GT. This is awesome 4 Door Sports Sedan with a 351-Cleveland and a 4Speed. You wouldn’t get that in the states. 74 was the last year ford offered a 351-Cleveland and a 4Speed transmission wasn’t even a option. The only engine offered after 74 was a variant of the Cleveland called a 351-M (modified) till 78 or 79 end of production.
Glenn do you know what has happened with this car up till this day.A follow up on it would be great, cheers.
I bought it for $1000 still sitting in my garage
I wasn't an import guy until mad max back in the day. Then I realized our Aussie brothers and sisters make some badass rides too!!
Oh yes . Far nicer and better overall than the American crap.
Been waiting for an update on this beauty for… years…
Fabulous job everyone, I've been waiting a long time for this video, and at last its free, cant wait to see the restoration process, keep um coming Glen
Cheers🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺😎👍
Putting Moffat in the crane drivers seat cracked me up🤣👏Awesome to see him there👍
I'm a Holden man, through & through, but this is epic!
One of the great storys of a legend ..and great to see a ford legend there also Mr Allan Moffat..
We salute you Allan 👍
I love aussie style when it comes to cars as an American from the southeast. They're just so similar as far as gear heading. They build what we build except for the four-door thing and I love the clevelands best small block ever made! 🍻
351 4v top loader 9 inch 🤝👍
@@stevesalkas9128 traction lock diff and 4.30's 😎👍
Thats soooooooo F.....g COOL it bought tears to my eyes.
How smart is someone who puts in a pool before doing something about a car in the garage.
Too much vitamin D? ☀️
Cars aren't that heavy really. They could have put a scaffold into the pool and rolled it over, perhaps the crane was cheaper. It's just a problem to solve champie, not a crime against nature - and a good theft deterrent.
He said he still had access to the neighbors drive way to take the car out even when he had the pool but then they built up around him and blocked it in.
Best security ever
A smart rich dude😅

FORD FALCON GT . BUILT WITH PRIDE , FROM THE OF FORD AUSTRALIA . LONG LIVED THE FORD FALCON .
Swimming pools and muscle cars, I could cry! Australian have best quality of life. I live in Europe and we are being gaslighted by our government telling us how rich we are. But we have none of these special goodies.
The XA GT Sedan was equipped with a range of V8 engines, including the 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8, which provided strong performance and a distinctive V8 exhaust note. It was available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
In terms of design, the XA GT Sedan featured a bold and aggressive appearance, with a sporty front grille, hood scoops, and unique GT badging. It was offered in a range of vibrant colors and often featured racing stripes and other performance-oriented styling elements.
The Ford Falcon XA GT Sedan is highly regarded among automotive enthusiasts and collectors, and it holds a special place in Australian automotive history as a powerful and iconic muscle car.
I love seeing those car to be restore again
As an American I see the styling of this car somewhere between a Gran Torino and A Cougar.
that crane lift, the music the whole thing, this was something special.
Chariots off fire 😅😅😅😅
I'd sell it back to the original owner for 5 grand. Sometimes it's not about money and it obviously means nothing to the current owner like it does to the original. You could hear the pain in his voice.
Lol I bet U wouldn't
@@davos4wdadventures yeah ay
It would cost more than 100K to produce this episode program
I’m sure there was pain in his voice, but that doesn’t mean devalue the car and give it back to him. “Regrets, I’ve had a few”.
It's worth $1.75 Million Dollars, sure you would sell it for 5k lol...
That was un-believably EPIC, and Mothball I'm sure will spring back to epic life after such an early retirement !!
Bloody cowboys with the grinders around the car lol
The whole production was B-grade, it was cringe worthy.
I think that's the most incredible unveiling of an aging superstar GT Falcon on the internet. Measured against all the hundreds of other vehicles discovered and bought to our eyes and ears. Oz greatness witnessed right here. I am sorry noone water blasted it clean for us to see how well it survived in a dry shed.
We don't have barns in Australia , we have sheds, garages ....
Barns are for horses 😅😅😅
Working on people’s homes it’s amazing what you find in sheds and backyard and the stories that they tell . For some people it’s not about the money. they just want to own it .life gets away from them and it just sits there .
Dragging out the old video's. Still amazing watching this footage again.
I found an original XW GT in a shed up in the Blue Mountains around 25 years ago. I offered the guy 10 grand. he said I could have it if I could come up with the money that day. Unfortunately it was a Saturday afternoon so no banks open. I called him first thing Monday but unfortunately someone else bet me to it.... So Close
Yep most Aussie car finds are in sheds not barns
Why am I tearing up??? That was epic!
There's alot of sooks in the comments, keeping it in the shed for 30 years was the best thing. Back in the day how many of these original Aussie muscle cars got wrapped around a tree, buried under the local tip, stolen & stripped, sent to sims metal or abandoned in a paddock to rust away? People forget these were worth nothing back in the 80s and 90s. they were the equivalent to what a VT or AU is today.
And who give's a F about the dust, it washes off.
Hey man, my 317,000 k AUII XR8 220 is rising in value faster than you'd believe, and is an ass hauling, never been off the road survivor. All these last of the line anywhere Windsor's, were hand built at Tickford, and have the builders name on the rocker cover ! But yeah, as recently as 3 or 4 years ago you'd be right, lol !!
Like the lady in the Shannons ad says about that Barra XR8, "it's gonna be a classic".
12:25.
The Moff.
A great gentleman sportsman, and a great Aussie!
he was a cheat the engines he was using were from the states when they were suposed to be made here thats how he was able to win so much.
Save the classics
To those who commented it’s only a four door and it’s not worth owning,. Sorry that it doesn’t meet your expectations but Ford knew exactly what they were doing ..Build a high preference car a family could use as a daily driver and a two door to corner the rest of the market In actual fact the two doors was slow to move of the show room floor. Finally the four doors sell for a hundred plus
"Neil, how does it feel to see your baby leaving home?" Gtfo his baby, look at the way he treated it. You'd think atleast a decent car cover ffs. I've had my ESP in my garage under covers for more than 15 years untouched. I've spent time, effort and money putting mine away.
What people like yourself don’t think about is if it had gone to someone else that hadn’t parked it what might have happened. The thing could have been totalled or stolen and stripped, the fact it sat away in a shed like this for all these years is the reason it’s still here and when it was parked it was just a GT which didn’t have as much significance as it does now
XA GTHO, red, black interior, manual, RPO83 options, looking forward to more, Glen your a legend.
4:03 That's a Bolwell Nagari, a low-volume Australian car of the early 1970s. A real looker.
Thank you for sharing this historic moment, love your show.
Absolutely love the XR GT. My first car was a perfect XT GT tribute
Lol. The ‘barn find’ would have to be the most mythical internet sensation
Actually yes...I think the 'Barn Find'..is only a short time old..even the Dust looks new...
What a beautiful find
Glen what came of mothball
Love to see a follow up story on the car not restored just cleaned up and running . Just sold my 78 Firebird Trans am sitting for 25 years untouched, im too old to do any work on it, cant take it with you. gone to a transam enthusist and will live on
Why not give us an update of what it looks like now not 5 years ago Jesus
Fucking Oath.
Cheers for your reply Glenn. Sorry I didn't realise I'd seen it on another channel. All the best. Can't wait for new content in future. 👍🏻
Jewel green and black all ways look so good in the xa
Amazing find
What a great story, we all wish it was ours. Well I have some old Jeeps in the shed, maybe worth saving one day., cheers.
G'day Glenn. Awesome looking cars!
Awesome job :) beautiful aussie muscle, good work
That was epic
What a great video
Truly awesome car
Great rescue!.........Don't know if I'm having de ja vu or something, could have sworn I saw this video during lockdown 2020 🤔
That's a real beauty...
RIP to David . Awesome work Just need to know one thing, did it have 4V heads?
351 4v 9 inch top loader
For those who didn't keep their toys for long enough to be famous like this owner right here, this is what you miss out on what we saw here for not being famous. Far out, what a shame! If only we kept our old toys, who would have known.
Great lookin car!
Wow that's a awesome car.
They made it with too many doors though.
👍👍👍👍
Would love to see Sandro from Car Craft Auto Detailing in Melbourne give this a go over. He is one of the best in Australia IMO.
I dont understand this owner, he claims its his baby and is faking being emotional.. when he drove the car for 3 months then left it in a shed for 30 years being neglected, and even built around it essentially into a tomb....
He's an old snake oil salesman for sure. Bloke owed him money and he paid with the car....
Agreed. He didn’t give a fuck about the car until he figured out it was worth something
What's with the hat.
JUST EPIC,MADE ME GET SOME WET EYES,WELL DONE
This poor car deserved better
I just want to wash and detail it😂
Its n great shape really cheers
Jesus wouldn't have hurt to throw a cover on it all those years ago. Everybody wants to see it after a wash and curious how much he it sold for.
its just dust, covers can come apart or tear
Good pressure clean would of been nice 👍
Nice story.
I'm Holden in heart, but I appreciate chrome bumper art.
I thought that was fantastic thanks
IM A HOLDEN BOY AND I HATE FORDS BUT I LOVE THIS VIDEO AND I LOVE TO SEE AN ALL ORIG CAR SAVED SOMEONE WILL BE HAPPY I FEEL SAD BECAUSE THE 70S AND 80S WERE GOOD TIMES . FREEDOM
Lay off glass BBQ and while you/re at it, also lay off the caps-lock there champ.
If it's fast I drive and own it 😅😅😅
Aussies seem to cherish 4 door cars more than we do in the states. beautiful car though.
That's because the powers that be in the US mostly only allowed us to receive a 4 door range. Ford, GM and Chrysler Australia had to make to with the 4 door platform for the most part.
Yes, we arent really a 2 door car nation. Pain in the bum to get in and out of plus the doors too heavy and end up sagging.
This car is identical to one I took for a spin in the late 70's.
Filthy?
Now that's a real car ford power that's how U make a car tough and power house
I bet every bloke and boys on the street that day wished it was theirs 😢
So if the the body is 'HO' spec going by those measurements, gotta wonder if it would be possible to track down the motor that should have gone in to it.
The 'supercar scare' was such total BS, nowadays the average 4 cylinder hatchback would leave a HO for dust in the corners and the straights, and a Tesla would be like a spaceship in comparison.
Another 10 years, the Falcon's value will still be climbing, the hatchback will be recycled into a new Tesla, and the current Tesla's will seem old hat and need new batteries.
The back of that car looks almost like a dodge challenger
Wonder where it is now
What a bloody waist the guy needs his head read parking it up and leaving it just because the registration ran out Bloody disgraceful 😢
Prob couldn’t re rego as it was a debt maybe
👍😎
Get it restored asap😊
It's sad to see cars like this shoved away in a shed, My sister had an old 1970's model Holden Statesman and she let it rust away in a shed even after 5 or 6 people offered her good money for it
disagree - if it wasnt stashed away it woulld have been wrapped around a pole or worse chopped up years prior.
Shame you did not put a cover over whole car
I'm no expert. Were all readers of what's been written. Is it an RPO83? Never heard about the flared guards. Thanks :)
Did you restore it and have you got those videos of what it looks like after the full restoration. Great find.
Same question for me.
Glenn whatever happened with the XYGT build up or is this it in the opening photo?
O carro foi colocado na exposição, do mesmo jeito que resgatado ??
I’d equally love to wash it or leave as is!
The last of the V8s 👌👌😉😉😉😉👍👍👍
Music is deafening.
I dont think AM was too impressed with state of that car.
I thought they would of atleast washed it, when they put it on show. That was a bit disappointing to see, especially after all the work they went to, to get it out of the guy's shed.
That's the beauty of it, from raw barn find to later (much later) in time to a fully restored and rare car, look forward to seeing it.
I would've washed it.
LOL! Nah its supposed to be dirty but yeah id be tempte dbut then you would have to fully restore it
Q:what zooms around your kitchen floor at 200kph? A: Alan Moppit
Q: what zooms around the laundry at 200kph?
A: Norm Bleachey.
I gather your in Australia !! It’s a shed not a barn. Barns are in the US
gawd is this another potato scallop or cake thing , get a effing life.
Why didn’t they stick a new battery on it and a gallon of fresh fuel in the tank ,every chance it would of fired right up with a little carb cleaner and plugs pulled
Would've needed a full service - oil would've been bad, same with tyres and filters. That's before even considering seizure of the engine from sitting for so long.
It is a numbers matching classic worth super car money. Lunching the engine by cranking it over for 30 minutes with a spider nest blocking an oil passage would take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the value.
yeah they could have driven it into the pool then.
When did Australia get barns?
Since Jimmy!🤣🤪👍🏼
They trans gendered when A) something remarkable was found to be within.
And also B) when you tube became a thing in USA.
Its a Yankee thing, you might not understand?
@@jackrichards1863 I understand, it’s just a shame that Australia is becoming so deeply Americanised and this sort of stuff dose nothing to help it.
Ffs wash it😂
Would have been nice to see it's current state.
The question 3 years layer should not have been how are they going to get it out of there, The question should have been why didn't he let Pat the first owner of the car buy it back 3 years ago!!!
It's obvious he wasn't planning on doing anything with it since it's still sitting there 3 years later and the first owner said he'd like to buy it back, I can't stand people and you wonder why.
Exactly right. People like him piss me off. Had zero intention of doing anything with the car except letting it sit & rot. Then all of a sudden 30 years later he has emotions about. 😂 seriously!!! You could tell the original owner was pissed of about it with his comment. All the current owner saw was $$$$ & attention nothing more.
why does the thumbnail look like their lifting it to heaven
I don't get it did someone buy this car or just borrow it?
Please some body 🙏 tell me this has been fully restored .. and now is driven ..
